He didn't have a wet chin likely because he was too dehydrated to do so. To the young lady- none of this was your fault. It was a kind mercy to numb his suffering, to allow him some comfort, food . . . and let him pass in peace, finally being safe. You gave him the best chance when everyone else had given up. @@averymagana2072 I'm curious why your co worker didn't inspect the cage herself. Sounded like she was throwing you under the bus. Soon as Saskia walks up, first thing out of your coworkers mouth "remember when I told 𝘺𝘰𝘶 I saw a cage out front". Unless there was some physical force restraining her from leaving the building, it was her responsibility to investigate it. That poor piggy lost its life because she didn't walk 20 feet to the entrance and verify if any animals are inside (the same entrance that many owners discard their cavies with no notification). Saskia was right, it wasn't your fault. It was your co workers. I don't feel it was anything intentional, but it was completely preventable and hopefully she learned that.
This makes me so sad… and angry. I don’t have faith that I could withstand the horrors seen by animal rescues like yours. My heart hurts for the abuse and neglect you bear witness to. Thank you for the work you do and the love you give to these wonderful animals. ❤😢
And this is why whenever I see a video titled “someone abandoned this pet, it was the best thing that ever happened to him” I get so angry. Because it is never OK to abandon animals somewhere, even if you think someone’s going to find them. Every animal that has ever been dumped somewhere could die the same way this little one did.
Whenever I take an animal into my home, regardless of if it's temporary or not- I prepare for the long haul. When we get a creature in our care we are promising to do our best and right by them. It's hard to see the other side's perspective when there was so, so much more that could have been done better.
@@reubenread7687 thank you for your care of animals. I wish more people felt the way you do. As a rescuer, I feel this lady's distress very much. 🙏🐾🏴
Agreed! It's also an extremely selfish sentiment to spell out, as if the person rescuing the pet is more concerned with the benefit of getting a pet without having to pay for it. While the idea of saving an animal is nice, you shouldn't turn their suffering into a benefit for you. I salute you for your strong empathy!💖😸
Yes and there's plenty of blame to go around... blame for those who stigmatize those who need to surrender an animal, shelters for turning owner surrenders away, high surrender fees, rescues who offer no supportive services to keep animals and people in temporary crisis together, vets who have become heartless corporate money machines. I get that ultimately it *is* on the dumper but if you actually want to save lives you have to take responsibility for the obstacles that contribute to the choice to abandon. We do as much with human babies, cps will never turn a child away, a hospital will never turn a child away, family charities won't refuse aid to those who choose to keep their babies, we offer safe havens for abandonment so no child gets thrown away. Overwhelmingly it has worked, where it hasn't id say its due to a shame and stigma and no ability to abandon safely and without social recrimination. Thats why I say this, if your goal is saving lives then the community needs to step up, if its just about being holier than thought then continue as always I guess
I will never understand how humans can be so horrible to animals... this poor guy. You guys did the best you could and it's comforting to know that his last 24 hours, he was super loved and taken care of. Thank you for taking him in and trying to save him.

I'm so sorry he passed away, the person or people who abandoned that innocent creature, should go through what they put that innocent guinea pig through... PERIOD!!!!
With the way things are going in the world and the many people who are now carelessly abandoning their animals. It's probably a good idea to have some cameras in the areas that are hidden not for confrontation but to alert everyone that someone is about to do the wrong thing. If this is something that you'd be interested in put it on your wishlist and we will take care of it.
I second this. That bit of security would be such a comfort. Additional signs to warn drop-offs of the danger abandonment has might be a good idea. It's better to face the embarrassment of giving up a pet than to leave it to die.
Oh this heartbreaking. You all do God's work and give so much love and compassion to these wonderful piggies. So sorry he didn't make it. He spent his last day with the most loving family around. Thank you for all you do everyday for these piggies.
Poor baby, fligh high! 🌈🖤🙏 And I hope your team and you can accept it, Saskia! My boys were dumped in the streets last summer, before they were rescued and I adopted them from the shelter. Seeing this gave me goosebumps. This could have been their fate if not for the courage of the person, who found them and brought them INTO the shelter.
The owners must feel so good about themselves now, a poor little piggy’s life for there selfishness decision. I’m sorry you and the team had to go through this. 😢
I cried the whole way through. I was ready to message Saskia and tell her that if this little man lived, he was to be MY Guinea pig. I mentally named him Icarus, and I don’t care that I live in San Diego, I would have found a way to come get him, it didn’t matter, I loved him and I wanted to give him the best life like I do my other piggies. This video is a wonderful example of why I have social anxiety; the absolute distrust I have in [most] people because of the lack of accountability and responsibility. Plus I wanted to comfort the beautiful woman who kept repeating that she didn’t see anything and no one alerted her because it wasn’t her fault and I just wanted to hug her. Every single one of you do superb work and I’m thrilled to support such a wonderful rescue. As I used to say in my yoga classes: life is good food, good company, and good sleep. 🙏🏼 PS All three of my boys were chirping at me the whole time I cried. They’re upset that I’m upset ❤️🩹
This is absolutely atrocious, that somebody did this without letting you know they had dropped that precious little soul off outside in the heat. You are all so compassionate and would have helped if the owners situation was disastrous - my heart goes out to you all having to deal with these situations. I despair at what some people do - simply heartbreaking.

Unbelievable. It's so easy to drop an animal off at a shelter - many of them have anonymous drop boxes. And how tough is it to leave everything outside LAGPR, ring the bell, and run? Or make a phone call as you drive away? Whoever did this should never have another pet again.

This just shows you what people who work at animal rescues have to deal with on a daily basis. Hope I wont be completely ignored on tomorrows live. An that she'll still use my timestamps I will do a better job than last week.
@@fitzguineavision I'm glad you saved that piggy. 💯🐹🐹So far nothing like that has ever happened to me. I live out ibn the country so, not many guinea pig owners out here.
Thank you for caring for him at the end of his life. So he at least knew what love is.
Poor little guy looked like he wasn't going to survive in the first few minutes of the video. At least he passed with responsible people giving him possibly the best love of his life
So so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry 😔
This is so so sad😢😢 I am crying as I watching this video. How could someone just leave this beautiful little guinea pig🐹 and not tell somone he was there it noone fault for not seeing him the person who dropped him off is to blame shame on them these people make me so bloody angry. Thank you Saskia for showing him some tender loving care when he needed it most and being with him in his last 24 hours I am really sorry for you loss. Thank you Saskia and your whole team at the LAGPR for all the amazing work you do to help these beautiful litttle guinea Pigs.💛💛💚💚💙💙💜💜🧡🧡💚💚💙
Thank you for your kindness and love in caring for this beautiful fur baby
I'm so sorry he passed away, the person or people who abandoned that innocent creature, should go through what they put that innocent guinea pig through... PERIOD!!!!
So sad and ANGRY 🤬🤬 im crying.
Yes, please install cameras. I can't stop crying
They need cameras that live stream so we all can see!
This was heart breaking 😢. You did your very best to help him. Tell the lady that found him, it wasn't her fault ❤ R. I. P Angel guinea ❤
So heartbreaking 😢😢 I am so sorry, people can be so cruel 😢
He truly knew love at the end of his life. Thank you for everything you've done. You went above and beyond to try to save him
This really got to me😢 Thank you for all you do Saskia!!!!
I love you saskia for your endless love and compassion for your great heart and willingness to always help RIP little man no more suffering xx
Poor girl crying, i got tears in my eyes💔💔💔💔💔
How anyone could treat an innocent animal like that breaks my heart, I cried watching this!
Oh this heartbreaking. You all do God's work and give so much love and compassion to these wonderful piggies. So sorry he didn't make it. He spent his last day with the most loving family around. Thank you for all you do everyday for these piggies.
Just so horrible. Thank you Saskia for all you do and for being there for him.
You guys did your best. You didn't know. Don't blame yourselves blame the cruel person who did it.
This is absolutely heart breaking
Can't believe how someone just left him there like that. You all gave him love in the end. Very sad that he didn't make it.
he knew love, in the end he knew love
PS
All three of my boys were chirping at me the whole time I cried.
Poor little guy. You and your team tried their best.
Poor poor little guy...
I imagine him and Pedro are somewhere over the rainbow bridge rumbling and popcorning together ❤️
God bless you for your love and work to the guinea pigs!
l hope he makes it you give your best to save them thanks to the rescue and you Saskia xx
Sadly Hero died. Mod Karalee
My heart absolutely broke watching this video, i'm so sorry lil guy
Just so y’all know-his name was Hero. Thank you for all your kind words.
So sorry you had to go through this. All of you🐹🌈🥀🕊
@@ITIsFunnyDamnIT thanks Brigitte. ❤❤❤❤
@@averymagana2072 Thank You for all you do. Seriously. You've done a lot, I will try my best make the timestamps good and hopefully not with a bunch of errors and things that need to be reworded. I will try harder to do better. 💯🐹🐹
Thank you for telling us. ❤
@@averymagana2072 I typed up a reply than lost all of it😥. I was trying to say that it was really heartbreaking to watching this knowing you guys felt guilt over something that was none of your fault. It was the fault of the people who done this and theirs only. I hope no one is still feeling guilty like they could have prevented this. Whoever done this in broad daylight was really sneaky and evil. I said a lot worse when this started because that poor piggy Hero, he looks kind of like my Beavis not exactly but same coloring. Poor baby. It truly takes a Lot of resilience patience, hard work, and a strong love for rescuing animals to do what you guys do. Have to see these horrors and still continue on because so many guinea pigs still need you, but that can take it's toll on anyone. I wish you all the best. An I promise to do a better job on tomorrows timestamps. 💯🐹🐹
Unbelievable. It's so easy to drop an animal off at a shelter - many of them have anonymous drop boxes. And how tough is it to leave everything outside LAGPR, ring the bell, and run? Or make a phone call as you drive away? Whoever did this should never have another pet again.
I'm so sorry. I feel your pain and anger. Whoever it was who broke down saying they should have checked. It's not your fault. I wanted to reach through the screen and give you a big hug. You did EVERYTHING you could. Sending hugs from the UK.
Thank God for someone like you you guys are awesome and thank God for the angel. He made that rescues and helps the guinea pigs bless you and your family and all that used to.❤
It’s not your fault!! He was so beautiful. I’m so sorry you had to go through this.
What a needless tragedy. The only fault of this pig’s passing is the owner. The volunteers are wonderful.
I have a picture in my mind, dreamed about too, of a house on the edge of a meado in the after-life, where all my rescued animals gather and play. Its awesome, all these piggies from over the years are playing and eating in a herd, and the dogs are there, a bird. I hope when I go this is where I wind up. There is room for one more, little fella. Come join us.
He passed finally knowing kindness and proper care because of you all, God bless you for your compassion and very hard work❣️🙏❤️🩹
This is so heartbreaking. My heart dropped when I saw the thumbnail because he looks a lot like my guinea pig.
He’s in a better place now, may he rest in peace.
thank you to all at lagpr who wrap their hearts and hands around each rescue that lands with you (fuming on the inside about the animal cruelty... I just don't get it!) a million thank yous for giving this little guy so much support & love in his last hours - popcorn free little one xx
But at least he pass away know he was love and got to taste a bell pepper he was a fighter to the end
Thanks for giving him love during his final hours.
This is terrible, I couldn't watch it all the way, it made me cry like that skinny abandoned there over night and froze to death... you are an absolute angel to all those pigs. At least he knew there was someone who cared about him. Such a gorgeous abby boy...
My heart just broke...😭 May he rest in peace. Such a heartbreaking thing. You tried your very best, Saskia and team.
I hope for that guinea pig to have a great life In Heaven I wish you good luck buddy
My guinea pig is also an abyssinian. Seeing the piggie like this wrenched my heart. How could someone do this to their pet. They are so adorable and sweet. Who in the right mind would do this??
My heart is broken 😢 Poor little guy.
Thanks!
Thank you Elizabeth!!!!!!
This made me cry. I cannot understand why people can be so cruel. But same story here in Belgium. 27 guinea pigs were dumped in the wild, they were lucky to be spotted by someone who alerted the rescue. But some of them didn"t make it. 😢 I just wanna say to that lovely volunteer that cried, it is not your fault, we can only do our best. ❤
So sad 😢 At least you found him eventually and tried your best ❤️
