- Here we have the original 1969 version of 'The Love of A Woman' written by Barry and Maurice Gibb and Produced by Barry. Samantha reprised the song on her 1977 'Emotions' album, but it is this version with backing vocals by Barry Gibb that takes the plaudits.
Sorry there is a bit of surface noise but this is taken from the original vinyl.
A forgotten gem. So beautiful , with Barry and Maurice’s backing . ❤

1969 cannot be right. Samantha Sang would have been a child, and no one was producing music that sounded like that. It was the Incense and peppermints era.
Fred Gregg She was born in 1951, so by 1969 she would've been 18.
:) Wow, looked it up, I guess you're correct! I should have said in America nobody was producing music like that. Nobody was producing music like Black Sabbath in 1969 either. Sounds like stuff years later.
@@captainactionman01 This is classic orchestral pop that you hear a lot of from the UK. Around this time, you also had "United We Stand" by the Brotherhood Of Man, "Everlasting Love" by Love Affair, and many other similar songs.
You underestimate the musical variety of the 60s. Lots of people were producing music like that.
❤
Un maravilloso tema muy superior al editado posteriormente. Una negligencia prescindir de los coros Gibb
Hello Linda! How's life's treating you?
❤
Anyone else think the intro was going to go into Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros?
I'm unfamiliar with this version. Some aspects of it are better, I think, than in 1976. Makes me wonder why she (they) redid it for the US album release, as there's really nothing wrong here.
Jaz imam original posnetek ko je bila na 25. obletnici PORLa v Ljubljani gostja Jožeta Privška.
At the tail-end the backup singers didn't help. your vocals sound like Bette midler and when you're getting the really loud sound you remind me of the singer that did the song for goldfinger. The vocals on this song are not as good as the song emotion.
