Hi Kelly! Thats an adorable design, turned out great! I enjoy watching other embroiderers as we’re always able to pick up a tip or two, if not learn an entirely new to us technique. I look forward to more videos 😊.

I heat n bond a large piece of fabric for all of my designs. I have a bin for larger pieces and a bin for scrape (small) pieces. It’s much handier and faster than having pull fabric and ironing each time. Very little waste since I save the small pieces for smaller appliqués like eyes, ears, tires etc.

I love appliqué. But if1 I were you I would cut my fabric piece on a silhouette or cricut Will cut with the heat and bond on. Can cut all the trucks, all the hearts etc and place them on. Saves so much time. That being said I love your work. You are so much fun to watch.

      That's a great idea! I don’t own a silhouette or circuit!

Do you iron the design at the end to set the heat and bond?

So…dumb question here. Does she just remove enough of the backing for the area before she lays it on the fabric? She didn’t say anything about removing the backing. Or do you remove the backing from the entire piece after you iron it on.

Not a dumb question! I didn’t share that did I!! Yes you remove the backing before you embroider. I remove all of it

Helps fabric not fray and adheres it to the shirt

The first appliqué I did on my new machine I was so nervous I forgot to take the paper back off of some of the pieces. Confession. The shirts were for my twin granddaughters third BD
