My biggest issue with the Ultimates line (and the reason I’m never getting one) is that they’re charging you premium/import prices for the sort of figure you could normally get for $45 at most from a Target. They’re basically just bigger versions of NECA’s old Godzilla output, only they’re charging you four times as much money for them.
And worse engineering to be honest
And people always seem to be cautious with them because of high price points & hit-or-miss engineering/QC. Hiya’s sheer affordability & quality combo just shits all over Super 7 and Bandai in that regard.
I agree. Super 7 has always been an expensive brand tbh. Their ReAction line is $20, granted at least in that line you are paying for the carded box in addition to the figure. But yah the Ultimates normally is $55 for whatever reason the Godzilla line is $85 (and I’m not sure why) these figures would be fine at the $55-$65 MSRP but for $85 it’s basically the same cost as some of the older SHMA figures.
their figures are more expensive than hiya toys and almost as expensive as monsterarts and seem to have worse engineering than both of them lol

As someone who now owns the figure, buy super glue for the tail, while I was able to get mine on using the instructions, in my experience if you move him around a bit much or turn that joint more then 5 times without re-positioning it falls out, definitely not bad, it does the job but for a figure at its price id expect a bit more sturdiness there. Otherwise my copy is in good shape, eyes are nice, paint doesnt seem nearly as glossy, and the other joints are fine minus a bit of loosness I personally dont vibe with. Definitely better then the SHAM in my eyes, but not by much.
85 dollars for a figure without a hinge jaw, glossy paint, and bad joint tolerance on the tail, also no accessories.
Yes, but also the most accurate, worked with the director (in production), big, without micro adjustments near SHMA articulation, and arguably more available. Pros and cons, whichever weighs more - and I think I know how most would go - that's how it rolls!

I'm in agreement that the gloss coat makes it look like cheap plastic. The way the teeth are painted & the lack of further paint on the body compared to the promo isn't helping either.
Less glossy in real life
As someone who owns the MonsterArts and Super7 versions, the Super7 version is far more accurate at a significantly lower price point.
also larger, people forget these are fairly big figures for their articulation

I hate how the marketing makes these figures looks so like matte finish and all CGI, but when you get them they are a glossy paint mess, granted out of all the super 7 Godzilla this is the best looking one because it can look messy and get away with it, I’ll probably ask for him as a Christmas gift because this $85 figure should be $40 at best

I'm actually glad I got this cause I have both Super7 and SHMA Minus Goji and the SHMA one js keeps falling apart at the slightest touch, very loose on some parts and extremely tight on others. I got my Super7 MG at a mall and I js heated it up a little bit and it moves flawlessly pretty good figure for $85

Man, and I was seriously considering getting him. But if there’s one thing I can’t stand with Godzilla figures it’s loose joints. Particularly the tails.
I honestly love this figure I am a person who dose use custom paint and stuff and I do enjoy repainting my figures so to me this figure is perfect but I will also say don't like how the render had individually sculpted teeth and the fig didn't

Idk about your copy or Steven's but my copy came out flawlessly, no loose joints or tight ones the tail and heads pop on and off easily more worth it to spend $85 on a decent figure more that $145 on one that comes with no accessories and falls apart easily
Id probaly just get the bootleg minus one and repaint it myself

Honestly in person it’s pretty good but the tail not fitting in the socket is a huge problem. I might just super glue the tail at this point.😢

A matte clear coat does WONDERS for this figure. Granted you shouldn't have to after paying $95... but! It's worth the investment after.

Seems like there was a reason I’ve cancelled my preorder on this guy twice. Not enough for me to pull the trigger, especially as a Canadian. Super7 seems like a company that wants to do well but kind of fall short more often than they should.
I wished it was 85, with all shipping price and taxes I paid 165, and I have same situation with Hiya figs

Honestly the downsides you listed do not dissuade me at all, this still looks amazing as a MinusGoji figure

honestly I think I'd just rather wait for Hiya toys to step up and make what is probably looking like the penultimate Godzilla -1.0. Either that or just grab the X-Plus version and to be honest those figures haven't thrilled me as of late.

Say what u want about the monsterarts version but at least Tamashii tried despite butchering his eyes and teeth paint they still tried with his body and dorsal fins and tail. But this Super 7 ultimate Figure is a Dollar store version of that figure but somehow even worse and they want around 100$ for this potential scam are they serious here? Super 7 realizes that if you scam someone with another product that can cause someone to file a lawsuit right?

I think it looks good. The size makes it worth it imo. The tail being loose is a shame but nothing new for super7, its a bit of a compromise for the bigger scale and having the segments, theres not much fix for it unless they want to make the boxes a lot larger to have a piece thats locked in by two halves of the first segment thats also locked into the figure.
This gotta be the most overpriced line I've seen. Really not worth it, besides a couple of good releases here or there.
