Love how Showa focused the line is so far. Usually companies vastly favor heisei designs and kaiju (including super 7 themselves within the ultimates line) so it’s nice to see Showa getting the spotlight for once.
@@RambunctiousReptilian I really like it because they put out individual dnd minis and so far it’s the only place in Iowa I know that does it. I’d definitely make the trip to go and check it out, they have other stores next to the Chuck E Cheese and inside of Merle-Hay Mall but the biggest one is my favorite. I hope you find something. ^^
The absolute deepest cut I would love to see is the censored tentacle monster on the US poster for Godzilla vs. The Thing! There's an international version that shows the whole monster that says Watang!, which is what I name it 😅
I've been thinking about this MIB ReAction figures video and it really made me realize how much Kenner's Star Wars line had an impact in the toy industry 🤔
To me, the Fisher-Price/Kenner-style 3.75 action figure is THE style of action of figure (with 3.75 O-Ring style and 5.5 Muscle Man style being 2nd and 3rd in line). Almost any property works in the style.
The price of these though is just LMFAO...Tell me your stupid greedy without telling me your stupid greedy making your customers pay for the license.. $30-$40 for a 4 poa figure "emulating" an era when those figures were $3 bucks is pretty trash. Even $10-15 would have been somewhat more acceptable
@@lutherheggs451 the one I REALLY don't get is the ReAction GI Joe figures... The 3.75" Gi Joe line was made DELIBERATELY to be better and have more articulation than the Star Wars figures. So Super7 makes "retro" GI Joe figures with less articulation than the original figures from the 80's 😆
I like the idea of ReAction, but they're so expensive for what they are. Similarly sized and articulated figures for GI Joe and Star Wars go for about half the price.
I remember when someone showed me the first ReAction releases when they came out - think it was Alien? At the time it was SO wild; we’d never seen anything like it. The idea was so fresh and new. And you wouldn’t dare open them because the card was part of the whole thing. Back then I would’ve paid $40 for a ReAction because it was just so new and cool and barely attainable. Obviously things have changed since then, with all these “me too”s from huge brands that can afford to be cheaper. I don’t think Super7 helped the perceived value of ReActions by absolutely flooding the marketing either. Plus now they’re so common in stores. The price hadn’t changed but suddenly they felt expensive instead of special. I’m not a price defender - believe me, I’d love to pay less - I just find that fascinating
I skipped over this line completely but seeing how deep they've gone already is really making me wish I had gone nuts and got every one. Some great releases here.
definitely appreciate how deep-cut oriented the line is, and I honestly think it should stay that way. as for who I'd want to see translated to this? Titanosaurus, Gabara, maybe even some monsters exclusive to the HB cartoon (ex. Axor). Fuck, if they start doing 80's-90's stuff I'd love to see a Bagan figure, and I don't think I'm alone on that.
These figures give me some old vintage vibes so much, even the box and card packages are given some detail and care. Most of the stuff I have is still in their packages because I just can't bring myself to tear up the packages!
Hello Monster Island Buddies! Last month my uncle send me a 1974 King Caesar Super7 toy, and i love it! The Super7 Godzilla toys are pretty cool. They have Transformers, He-Man, ThunderCats, Power Rangers and more! I'll give my King Caesar toy a 10/10.
Fantastic video. I myself just recently started buying these ReAction figures for some fun decoration to use on the work desk. Now I want them all, lol. So far I've got '63 Goji, King Ghidorah, Space Titanium MechaGodzilla, Gigan and got Minilla from a blind box. Above all I really wanna grab that Goji & Jet Jaguar shaking hands exclusive.
Love the reaction line. I have quite a few of them. The pinball versions are my personal favorites. I ended up getting several so I could display them outside the box.
I have a few of these! I picked them up at Horror con specifically because of you. I picked out showa Rodan, 63 Godzilla, and jet jaguar. I have them displayed on a shelf in front of my MIB and clickbait plushies
Great video as always, MIB. I'm not terribly interested in all the variants they offer - far too much needless glut - but I do very much like that they're digging into deep cuts for this line. Like you, I've wanted to see an actual Imperial version since that one recolor was released. I'm surprised there's not one yet of someone dressed in the old Ben Cooper costume (just never do one on the actual Ben Cooper Godzilla "action figure" because that was hands down the worst G figure ever released...or hell, do that one too. Sure, why not). If they really want to do deep cuts, they could hit some of the Zone Fighter monsters that crossed paths with Godzilla, or even those monsters the cartoonist in Godzilla Vs. Gigan came up with like the Monster of Homework. A wave of human-sized alien figures would rock. The leader of Planet X, a Kilaak from DAM, the gorilla aliens, etc. There's so much more they could do with this line beyond glow-in-the-dark variants, but I do understand that's what pays the bills.
Gotta love how diverse the ReAction Figures are. I do not collect them, but I wouldn't mind seeing Hanna Barbara monster characters and maybe even Godzilla 1998 and accompanied animated series if Toho allows it.
I've heard they aren't allowed to do either version of Toho Kong or Toho Frankenstein, but maybe they can work that out someday. Would be cool if they could do King Kong '33, Son of Kong or King Kong '76. Or maybe they could eventually do Gamera or obscure Kaiju like Titanic Creations is doing and do Gorgo, Yongary, and Reptillicus.
There's probably reasons why we never see Frankenstein in other Toho movies..(only his clones/childern does) At least Kong got 2 toho movies and appeared in Greenman as a gorilla
There's a new wave of blind boxes. The four figures are all repaints of Shogun Godzilla. There's 4 figs in a box of 12. Each figure is 3 in 12. Ghost (clear), 70's (black with red hands and feet with silver spray on the belly), blazing (just burning Godzilla, 60's (blue with silver spray). They are also in a straight line front to back, so it's super easy to get the full set.
2:55 fun fact: this figure actually appeared in one of the Showa Godzilla films hedorah the smog monster.it was seen as a toy that one of our main child characters named Ken. But the unlike the actual super seven reaction figure the marusan Godzilla toy that Ken is seen playing with is actually bigger than the real figure.
i know Godzilla 1998 is not well liked but a ReAction 98 Godzilla would be nice and maybe a repaint for zilla Jr from the animated series and a comic con one for cyber-Godzilla from the animated series.
This video lit a spark in me that is so hard for me to accept. I HATE most Super7 figures for how over priced they are. The ReAction line especially. $15 MAYBE. $18 and over? No way. I hate them even more because their stuff is cool in a way. I give crap now for SHMA being way overpriced, which is a line I used to cherish. So I feel no qualms about calling out this line. However, damn this video for now giving me the collector itch.
Great Video. I have them all. Just got wave 6 from S7 last Friday. 78 figures released so far. Also on eBay a carded version of the Godzilla model kit version with some paint apps has been showing up, so that's #79....yeah they do come fast lol....

I'm sticking to the main line for my collection (no glow in the darks, repaints, etc.) so I'm very excited for a new wave and finally getting King Caesar! My only complaint would be only 3 figures this time??? We started with 6 a wave, then 4, now 3??? And I'd be more forgiving if one of them wasn't essentially a repaint with Godzilla '74...again. It is. Back when Imperial was making dinosaur figures, they would put the red lining around, say, a Tyrannosaurus' mouth like he'd just chomped down on dinner (the red lining was not around the plant-eating dinosaurs' mouths). That trait carried over to Godzilla when Imperial did their figure.
