Double-sided tape for LED backlights needs to be as thin as possible because the metal chassis acts as a heatsink for the LEDs. If you use thick double-sided tape this will drastically reduce the heatsink effect of the metal chassis and the LEDs will run hotter causing premature failure. So it might come back to bite you Allen.
I would give her back the TV and offer her an opportunity to buy a better TV. It's good enough to keep her company, which is what older people use their TV for.
You're right Allen you can't buy a 32" 4K TV. A few years ago the smallest 4K TV you could buy was 40". Now it's 43". This is in any TV brand, not just Vestel.
The reminder you requested: Buy some new Toshiba backlights. As to loud smartphones. It is bad enough to hear someone chatting 3 aisles down while you are shopping in the grocery store, but to have someone parked outside your house with all that noise is almost an invasion of privacy!

I don’t think people realise how loud it is outside the car when they use their phone hands-free through the car’s audio system!
