Oh! I’ve read several of the books you’ve finished this month. Huck Finn - fascinating piece of writing in its context. Bridge to T - I liked it but didn’t love it. Boulder - again, liked but didn’t love. I enjoyed the poetic writing. James - AMAZING read! Brotherless Night is on my mental TBR. Excellent wrap up per usual. ❤
I definitely folded to a lot of FOMO this month and picked up popular books - seemed to work well though 😂 I’ll be interested in your thoughts on Brotherless Night, I’m not sure it’s a Shelly book….
My best read in April was also a Women’s Prize book - Nightbloom. Loved it! Can’t wait to read In Defence of the Act. I might move it up after your review!
Wolf Winter sounds intriguing and I definitely need to try SA Corey! My April reads were just average. I did finally make it through Young Queens, which I read throughout April and on into May. I now better understand why separation of church and state was such a big deal for the founders of the US. Thank you for the video!! 🌑 This black blob is my interpretation of night - 😊
I really need to get back to the WP for nonfiction list! Thanks for the feedback on Young Queens, I do still want to get to that one. Love the black blob 😂😂
So many good books! You had a great reading month. Yes on the absolute devastating gut punch of in defence of the act. Intervals sounds so awful and devastating. Of course Saga is right up near the top! 😊📚🌒🌌
@@GemofBooks I love that to you awful and devastating = must read! You just want the TBR to explode in June! 😈 I would be sad about running out of Saga to read too. Glad I’ve got a few more to go. 😊📚
Saga 9 made me cry. I have volume 11 still to read but I'm saving it for no reason. I have now finished the Expanse! It's so good. I suggest you pick up The Churn (book 3.5) before you pick up book 5 for added context.
I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make it through the weekend without reading volume 11 😬😂 Yay for finishing expanse! Thanks for the tip on reading The Churn first, I’ve read a couple of the short stories, but not that one.
🌃🧡💛 Really struggling to read at the moment because of stuff happening in my life. I have Brotherless Night sitting on my shelf but will I ever get to it? who knows. Always enjoy your wrap ups and love a bit of of leg gnawing (Rudy).
Everyone goes through periods when they read more or they read less, I hope everything is ok though matey. I hope you get to Brotherless Night one day 😜🧡
My top 3 for april were ‐Godzilla x Kong by Greg Keyes ‐The Hidden Guardian by J.D.L Rosell (made me cry) ‐The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston (best romance of the year) I made a diy trilogy out of ‐My Friend Natalia by Laura Lindstedt ‐New Animal by Ella Baxter ‐Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder Which was a fun and rewarding experiment! I've added Wolf Winter to the tbr and also found Wolf Winter by Clair Frances which looks similar and good. I have a few books with wolf in the title like "The Wolf Den" by Elodie Harper, "Red Wolf Red Wolf" by W.P. Kinsella, i might do a mini wolfathon to get through some of them. 🇱🇰
The shame about Huckleberry Finn is that Twain put in a lot of the Tom Sawyer stuff to make it more of a children’s novel. I wish I had like Brotherless Night more.
I’m halfway through The Maiden. I’m not finding it very compelling. Best reads in April Brotherless Night Service by Sarah Gilmartin 🇮🇪 For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy on My Little Pain Night Bloom ☘️👋🍀☕️📖📕📚

Great reviews! So happy to hear you had such a great reading month
Thanks matey
it’s so lovely to hear you enjoying your reading so much! I can’t wait to get round to In Defence of the Act, Wolf Winter sounds really good too! 🇱🇰
It was such a good month! I hope you love both of those if you get to them 🤩
I don't think I've ever had a reading month as successful as this! 🇱🇰
I can’t remember the last time I read this many books I loved in a month. If only every month could be the same 😂
My best read in April was also a Women’s Prize book - Nightbloom. Loved it! Can’t wait to read In Defence of the Act. I might move it up after your review!
I haven’t gotten to Nightbloom yet but I’m super excited for it!
In Defence is so fab, hope you get to it soon matey 🧡
What a great reading month you had!! I really want to get to James and Brotherless Night soon and this video has bumped them up the TBR!! 🇱🇰🌚💤🌙
It was a great month! James and BN are well worth bumping up the list 🤩
This is an amazing list! James is going on my TBR right now
Yes!! James should be on everyone’s TBR🤩🤩
What a stellar month. I just finished James and right before that Brotherless Night. Two excellent books. I think I should read Intervals.
I think you would really like intervals!!
Great month! I am interested in reading James. I didn’t love Huck Finn but I do appreciate why it’s a Classic. 🇱🇰
James is so much better than Huck Finn!!
Wolf Winter sounds intriguing and I definitely need to try SA Corey!

Intervals sounds so awful and devastating.
Of course Saga is right up near the top! 😊📚🌒🌌
Do you want my copy of Intervals? I can bring it to London next month.
I’m so sad I’m nearly out of Saga 😢
@@GemofBooks I love that to you awful and devastating = must read! You just want the TBR to explode in June! 😈
I would be sad about running out of Saga to read too. Glad I’ve got a few more to go. 😊📚
Got through plenty there. Been with the Count of Monte Cristo for some time now. Getting to the end of it. Happy reading to you.
How are you finding it? I loved that one!

I loved brotherless night too it was one of my favourites 🌚
So good!!

I just bought Brotherless Night the other day because it was 99p on Kindle, sounds like I got a bargain!
You sure did 🤩
🌙 🌉 fantastic reading month, Gem! I've been in a massive reading slump so have only read about two books .
2 books is still good!! Did you like them?

You named this video correctly. Intervals, James, and In Defense of the Act are the ones I'm most excited for. 🇱🇰
All so good!! 🤩🤩

Always nice to have such a good reading month:)
Indeed 😄🧡
Intervals 💔Definitely agree it was 5 ⭐️Brotherless Night was just outstanding in my opinion. 🇱🇰🌃
Some great books courtesy of the WP!! 🤩

Nice!! Love the trilogies idea. I also have several wolfy books on my shelf 😂 Wolf Den is awesome too!!
The shame about Huckleberry Finn is that Twain put in a lot of the Tom Sawyer stuff to make it more of a children’s novel. I wish I had like Brotherless Night more.
I wish you’d liked BN more too 😢
🇱🇰
My favourite book in April was a poetry collection by Fatimah Asghar called If They Come for Us. Would highly recommend the audio book.
Ooo - thanks for the rec matey. I’ll look it up!
🌃
🧡🧡🧡
I think I want to read James. Should I reread Huckleberry Finn first? I read it as a child.
I don’t think you need to, it stands well on its own. 😊
Have you watched any of my videos here or on my other channel? I find it really hard to review books without spoiling the ending.
It’s really tricky, I try to focus on themes and my feelings about the characters rather than plot. Not easy though.
I’m halfway through The Maiden. I’m not finding it very compelling.

Yeah, not really sure why The Maiden made the WP longlist 🤷♀️
I think I’m one of the last people to read Nightbloom - I must prioritise it!!
