  • Come take a look at my Nam Wah bananas, also known as Chuoi Xiem or Kluai Nam Wa in Vietnam and Thai banana, are a natural hybrid variety of Musa acuminata. The ladyfinger-type bananas are most common in their native Thailand and in Vietnam, where they are also called Chuoi Su, which translates to 'porcelain banana' in English.
Nam Wah bananas, also known as Thai bananas, are native to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, but are now grown in tropical regions around the world. They are a hybrid of the Tanee and wild banana, and have a single, upright trunk with brown and green leaves. Nam Wah bananas are known for their sweet, rich vanilla flavor, dense texture, and tropical fragrance. They are typically 6-9 inches long, with a thin peel that changes color from green to yellow and eventually turns almost black when fully ripe. When ripe, the flesh is creamy and juicy, with a sweet, dense flavor and less water content than other bananas. Nam Wah bananas are a good source of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, and can be eaten raw or used in recipes like smoothies and banana nice cream.
