Good news is that you CAN get an EBK360 (Miele SEB228) that will enable it to use a power nozzle. The EBK360DC is battery-operated/cordless, and is for straight suction vacuums. You have to get the charger for it, and “power wand” for it which holds the battery. To make it work with the Miele, you have to buy a few things. The Miele floor tool adapter, the metal 34MM-to-32MM metal adapter, and glue them together with a permanent bonding glue. Then you have to drill a hole into the metal adapter to put a button lock in, which the generic Rainbow vac metal button-lock should work. You can push the metal thing into the wand, and then use a sharpie to mark where the button should be located. And then, viola. You have a power nozzle for the Boost, and any straight suction Miele.

My old Samsung version of this machine had stepless variable suction. It was a good machine but sadly they don't make it any longer, or one like it, so I just ordered the machine in this review.

I’m not quite sure to be honest. However, I can tell you with near certainty that if Miele was made aware of this weakness that they most assuredly made improvements.
