Best part is that he is improving while playing for the Padres, which is pretty much unheard of. San Diego is where talent goes to die. The only position players that got better as they played in San Diego (post-2000 era) were Adrian Gonzalez, Jake Peavy, and maybe Chase Headley.
The Padres did a terrible job in managing him early in his mlb career. Putting him in the bottom of the order for the first 3 years and seeing him as a defense first player really didn’t allow him to develop how he has been able to this year.

Im honestly hoping Kim can try to win MVP or at least come close to it. That's way more valuable than making an ASG. Da hell, some players even opt out. Darvish for instance, opted out in the past.

He was underrated because he wasn't as good before. Nothing to do with the slump.
lol you ain't wrong with the lineup being slumped. BUT HSK is much improved this year. The previous years, he had a tough time with velocity at the plate. Defense has always been on point tho

The only position players that got better as they played in San Diego (post-2000 era) were Adrian Gonzalez, Jake Peavy, and maybe Chase Headley.

The Padres did a terrible job in managing him early in his mlb career. Putting him in the bottom of the order for the first 3 years and seeing him as a defense first player really didn’t allow him to develop how he has been able to this year.
He couldn’t catch up to the fastball back then. He was always gonna take a few years to get to where he’s at now
