Getting/making a blueberry syrup is the hardest part about making this drink.
That sounds like a great combination - I think the syrup would go really well with gin too, but this is more of an unexpected/original idea!
The syrup does work with a lot. I think I've tried it with gin and bourbon.

It works well with bourbon. Gin is good also in a tall glass with club soda. The syrup isn't fortified so I added Everclear to it so it will last longer.
