- "Moody" is a song written, performed, and produced by Alina Smith. The music video, animated by Jerize Bravo and directed by Patrick Walsh, follows a story of a fictional character in Russia, whose village is ransacked by the three-headed dragon Змей Горыныч (Zmei Gorynich), often featured in Russian folklore. After watching her fellow villagers captured and carried off by the dragon, she sets out on a quest to free them, squaring against new foes, like the infamous Баба Яга (Baba Yaga) and Кот Баюн (Cat Bayun) before finally coming head-to-head with Zmei Gorynich.
In the end of the video, although she had triumphed over her opponents, you can see their shadows still lurking in the background. This imagery highlights the lyrical message of the song: defeating inner monsters is a process, and it's okay if some traumas take time to heal.

Full transparency, guys: I currently feel scared about releasing this music video because it features a lot of Slavic mythology, and we all know that anything Russia-related can be triggering for people right now. At first, I was going to change the description and not explain the meaning behind the visuals. But I decided not to because: a) Baba Yaga and Zmey Gorinich are also characters from Ukrainian mythology, as well as Russian. B) P*tin is the villain here, no Russian people and their culture. I’ve been horrified for Ukraine, but I’ve been also terrified for my own family, esp my mom, who lives in Russia and has issues with her heart. Many Western medications have been pulled from Russia because of the sanctions. P*tin will be fine. But my 65 yo mom, who hates his guts and actively protests against him might not be. Sorry to get so political. But I strongly believe in the world uniting right now, not throwing blame and hate at people simply based on where they’re from. FWIW, I had a sizable interest in Russia (and Mongolia) when I was about 12; I learned a little bit of Russian and can generally sound things out in Cyrillic.
