Speaking of Astartes, this trailer really looks like its been made by the same guy from "Astartes" on UA-cam. I think he got a really good position in GamesWorkshop as a creative director or something.
I think this trailer really captures what a heartbreaking thing the Horus Heresy was. Brothers cut down brothers, and Horus went from a genuinely good and honest man to a monster. It genuinely makes me tear up.
I don't know, the Imperium was always an opressive, imperialist war machine, and the Space Marines were always brainwashed, inhuman murder monster. The story is supposed to be a cautionary tale. Can't say any of the primarchs ever come off as 'good guys' as much as they're just tragic examples of humanity's greatest enemy being itself and it's ambitions to conquer and rule over others.
Bro Horus was always a monster, he just changed masters. Like how can you say a fascist child soldier bio engineered to literally eat people and murder entire planets for “heresy” was an honest and good man? He was a liar, so not honest. He regularly committed genocide and conquer entire planets in the name of a fascist totalitarian regime, so definitely not good. And he was a 9ft tall bio weapon, so never was he even close to being a man. How did you miss the mark of the lore so throughly? All of the IoM before and after the Horus Heresy were cartoon villain level bad guys, like they kidnap children and turn them into monsters to fight in their armies that’s how they reproduce. It’s like saying the Goa’uld in Stargate were good and honest men, except some Goa’uld actually were.

@@glacyitefreez4929 Not rly that big, technically speaking? Hell these illusions even tailor the Emperor's PERSONALITY AND SPEECH PATTERNS to whoever he's conversing at any given time; for example, a Mechanicus member would hear him be the ultimate example of the Omnissiah, being all cold logic, referring to the Primarchs by their number only, and as tools, rather than his Sons; vice versa, the Primarchs would to various extents see him as the paragon of Father Figure, referring to them as Sons etc
What blows my mind, is even juiced up on warp sauce, Russ could of actually killed Horus during the Battle of Trisolian, but “pulled his punch” at the last moment, that would be a nice fight to see with this kind of animation
@@skebaba918 I don't believe Horus had any psyker abilities or traits. Just analyzing the situation that we Horus in in the trail is devastatingly sad. A faithful first son turning on his father. He believes so hard he is doing the right thing for humanity. Horus has been tricked into betraying all of his ideas and with that is feeding everybody to the chaos gods. The webway would have solidified humanity as the cornerstone of the galaxy. To watch Horus give into madness. Somewhere deep inside himself he has caged his reason and rational thinking. He has allowed confused emotions and twisted words to lead humanity towards the edge of eradication.Horus would sacrifice everything, everything to prove to his father that the son, this time, was right.
If my understanding is right, the Emperor can see the future but not the path to get there, but the end result is that he becomes a god, and to a god time is nothing, so he could communicate with his past self to let this happen. Horus just needed some attention from his father and this wouldn't have happened, but he let it happen, because it was the path to becoming a god.
But it really wasn't epic at all. Emperor was just letting Horus beat on him until he realised he can't let Horus win and then just one shotted Horus. The fight itself is really anti-climatic.

The IoM has never made a single citizen’s life better, in fact it’s the biggest threat to human life.

What I love is the attention to detail of how Horus moves and walks, a Primarch in full battle plate would probably several Tons but he walks so smooth and swiftly to the point it seems in human, because it is, a Primarch is able to move with such certainty and strength and grace despite wearing several Tons of armour because they're just that far above ordinary humans, Astartes move with swift but still heavy and bulky movements showing they're strength is great but it's still nothing compared to a Primarch, especially Horus who at this point is empowered by the 4 God's of Chaos on top of his superior biology that comes with being one of the 20
Don't forget Primarch and Astartes battle armor is powered. Joint servos enhance their movements
The fact that an average human without the op boosts would only reach Horus' knee is pretty imposing.

Dude I can’t believe how big a Primarch is, some of the art and the models just don’t do them justice, like that Imperial fist just looks like a child next to Horus, a regular Astartes is a massive individual as well, literally towers over a regular human, yeah Horus is in Terminator armor, but still, and Vulkan and Magnus are said to be the biggest of their brothers, Vulkan albeit slightly larger, now I understand why us lower humans look at them as Gods.
I hope we see more Primarchs with this kind of animation down the road, but I think it’s appropriate that we started with the first son himself, The Warmaster Horus Lupercal.
Now imagine how big the Emperor was... :o
@@glacyitefreez4929 Not rly that big, technically speaking? He was about above-avg size when he was born, and his size is largely configurable at will w/ Biomancy (same as how Magnus does the size boogaloo, it's 100% psychic powers n shieet altering the biomass of the psyker), this is not accounting the 10x layers of psychic illusions to appear as the most optimal perfect being to each specific individual looking at him, to maximize his Charisma stat for each of those ppl individually.
@@skebaba918 sounds like being really big with extra steps. Soo still big.
Maybe the fact that when you first meet the guy they say you are attracted to him, that he was one of the kindest of Primarchs that could have been his power. I think that is what makes his fall so grand. You take the nicest dude and then twist and turn him into a rampaging killer.
Lol Horus was just a emperor's tool , the first son was Alpharius.
He wasn't tricked. He was basically possessed and forced to do this
If my understanding is right, the Emperor can see the future but not the path to get there, but the end result is that he becomes a god, and to a god time is nothing, so he could communicate with his past self to let this happen. Horus just needed some attention from his father and this wouldn't have happened, but he let it happen, because it was the path to becoming a god.
If horus never fell the chaos gods would’ve slowly been starved of belief and then crushed, such a different outcome, every sad
