I been fishing at that pier since I was 3 I’ve caught 2 rays a few shovel nose shark and a whole lot of mackerel
Mackerel is plentiful around here. My friend and I caught halibut last weekend
@@FlyByFrancisnice I haven’t been there in a couple of years I’m definitely due to come back I’ve found a lot of crab in the crab net as well
I gotta know who made that jacket ?! FIRE🔥
Nice video, enjoyed it
Thanks for watching bro!
I grew up fishing that pier.
35 years ago I landed 150 pound bat ray on my custom calstar and daiwa sea line .
Holyyy! That’s huge! Great job man! That must have been a fight! Do you remember what fish you used for bait?
I think I used piece of sardine. It took me about hour and half to land that fish. I had a huge crowd on the left corner of the pier.
I used frozen squid there last month with my buddy. We caught nothing but stingray but then as soon as we were heading out. Right before they kicked us off the pier for closing, he caught a horn shark. We met some other dudes while fishing there too, just like you did. My fishing buddy since moved out to Utah. But I hope soon to be back at Malibu pier! Great video man!
Horn sharks are rare here, nice work!
caught a baby leopard shark here Saturday
NICEEEEEE
Almost got 8 🤯

lol I loved this video, def made for people who like to fish
Thank you for watching :)
Yes! Great information, really well executed. For everyone!: You can park for free on the street within walking distance of that area if you just have a little patience. Wait a few minutes on the oceanside of the street. Also, the fish start hitting there closer to sunset. Get it.
Yessir! I forgot to mention the fishing style to catch mackerel or sardines on the pier thanks for pointing that out G!
just go to the Santa Barbara or goleta pier for mackerel, fatty mackerels and a bunch of them
I haven't fished at Santa Barbara or Goleta Pier yet. I'll make sure I come to those next! Thanks for the tip! Let me know if you wanna pull up!
Holy moly that the spot try Vince pier next time ...more space
Thanks for the rec! I think I went there once. I’ll make a video about it in the next next episode! I caught a lot of mackerel there
What makes a good fisherman? Or like how do I even get started?
Honestly it's a lot of trial and error. But with surf fishing all you need to know is how to tie a knot called the "Improved Clinch Knot" and 2 rigs: the Carolina rig and the High-Low rig. Also, it would help if you understood how to "read" the beach. There's certain spots where fish like to hangout and hunt. If you know where to cast, your hook up ratio will improve. I'll make a video about these things too!
Hit Redondo King Harbor the Jetty is sick I go often
I will try that next! I haven't been there either!THANKS!
@@FlyByFrancis Newport is a nice jetty as well my top 2
I love eating Jack Mackerel, lol
they're good!
