I hear her parents are Republicans, and I remember when she was a country singer, but she figured there were more Pop Music fans, and to pander to them, she had to go Democrat. I don't really know if she believes the things she says or if she only says them because that is what she thinks her fans want to hear. I sometimes think that if you want to be successful in entertainment, you have to be a Democrat, otherwise people in the industry won't hire you, you will be blacklisted, so maybe Taylor did this big show of being a Democrat to avoid blacklisting and to sell more albums to people who might otherwise boycott her if they though she was a Republican.

I’m a gen z, male, swiftie, libertarian, and I cringe at how both sides are handling the Taylor situation. My ideal scenario is Taylor endorsing NO ONE. Have better policies if you want more votes, that’s to both sides.
She posted a picture with a biden badge in 2020 that said vote4biden, so she is endorsing biden but idk about now, she does have more left leaning ideologies tho
I’m conservative but damn how do our politicians ever expect to win if they just say everything that the public likes is actually just a left-wing psyop?

@@jennyd9144 yes they do lol, people are obsessed with Taylor Swift, Sabrina carpenter, kpop stars, etc, etc. How do you not know this? They’re famous and rich for a reason man
Good video Brett. I'm so disappointed with the Right's demonization of Taylor. She's literally just living and doing music. Is being left-leaning a crime now? Is she THE DEVIL for it? Honestly if I was somewhere in "the center" and saw this it would piss me off. TERRIBLE STRATEGY from the right.
Truly! I think that with celebrities, most just don't think too much about politics. In their heads, being right wing= homophobia, sexism, racism. That's all they learn, they don't look for the nuances because they don't have to, because political and economic issues barely ever affect them if they're rich and famous, detached from society. So when a celebrity I like says they're a democrat, I just think "yeah, okay", and move on. Because for me, what they mean is "I support gay people and I'm not racist". They have a very ~ peace and love ~ mentality, so if they're told a specific party can threaten that, they will lean against it. In their own ignorant way, I just know they mean they're not discriminatory people or have issues with any minorities. (Same reason why straight famous people can easily go "Yeah i support the LGBTQIAA+ community!" without being aware of the issues between transgender and transexual people, discussions over whether or not asexuals even belong in it, if nonbinaries are trans... all they know is "Peace and love!" and they don't think about it after that! They're ignorant, but they mean well).
That I will agree with this can be a culture war thing but if trumps asked just be like she’s got good music you can’t deny it very popular she’s a good business woman. And leave it there course they’d probably press
How can you be a Christian swiftie? That’s like saying you’re a professional athlete who plays chess… u can’t have two masters. Also how can you justify worshiping God but also worshipping a woman who sings about lustful issues, is in clear contradiction and opposition to how God created women and their role in humanity, and is a terrible role model for young girls when it comes to literally anything? This is no personal hate towards TS, cause I mean she’s a fallen human just like the rest of us and it’s no surprise who she supports and how she dresses and how she influences young women in negative ways. But as a Christian, we can’t be following her as well as following God…

To me, this just seems like a stupid battle for Republicans. It's true for literally any famous musician....if they have a large influence and a predominantly young fanbase, then of course their political beliefs will influence their fanbases. Especially when they're super young and impressionable. Why are they fixating so much on Taylor Swift specifically? Maybe instead of constantly complaining about famous celebs leaning left, create some genuinely beautiful and right-wing art to have more conservative celebs in the spotlight.
as a conservative leaning creative, this sounds great but I fear a lot of men and women that could do this are afraid of being canceled if they appeal to national media when promoting their artwork...

Thank you Brett, you and Walsh get it and seem level headed. This weird attack on TS is the kind of thing that has made conservatives seem "uncool" for decades.
Not just "uncool," but unhinged. And I'm a lifelong conservative. Unfortunately, we shoot ourselves in the foot once in a while, and when we do, the media fall all over themselves to amplify it. However, when the left more frequently shoots themselves in the foot, the media suppresses it. This is a reality we need to understand. We do ourselves no favors at the ballot box by embracing bizarre conspiracy theories that no one with two brain cells to rub together would ever think reasonable.
She also was an apologist for a God-mocking Satan worshiping celebrity. Her values are kucko. Maybe becoming an actress makes you like that, no matter who you are?
When I was a fan of Ariana, she would always post stuff about “go vote for Biden” which I always thought was bs. I don’t need a celebrity or anyone to tell me who to vote for.
ariana can say that if she wants, just don't do it, she ain't your mom, no one is forcing you to obey her, same with taylor, she's my favorite artist and yet I voted right for my country last year
Yeah, I've always thought that it's better when artists don't get into politics, but I see how in Trump's case, since a lot of people believe he might endanger American democracy (I'm not saying this is true, mind you, I'm just saying that after the attack on the Capitol, this is what a lot of people believe it's true), a lot of them are willing to "dirty" their non-political artist status in order to be remembered as being against them. If you truly thought Trump was going to become similar to Hitler (and again, I'm NOT saying this is the truth, I'm just saying that some people believe it), you'd make a stand. And Taylor believes that Trum is dangerous, otherwise she wouldn't have written "American Glory faded before me".
I live in a country (Not America) where every single person i meet hates on Taylor Swift and when they realize I like Taylor Swift they immediately start making fun of her saying shes too emotional and dumb. Then they'll go and cry when someone called them a she/her 🤦♀
A fifth of voters likely to back her chosen candidate?? In a different article I read 1/5 of Swift's fans would support whoever she supported... Not 1/5 of voters... 1/5 of voters seems insane. 1/5 of swifties, not so much...
Funny thing about that article is most still wouldn't actually vote come election day. But yeah they say they would vote but most don't. I asked who voted in 2016 and everyone (young women ages 18-27) at my retail job said they didn't vote. I told them I voted for Trump and they got mad. They believed the lies the med1a told. Smh
My earlier comment got taken down. I'll make this one short and sweet. Basically, most young people hardly ever vote ever since 2016. But those same young people are very vocal about social issues so it's hard to take those people seriously
I am a Republican who loves Taylor Swift… Her Telling the young to go out and vote is a great thing…. I don’t care who they vote for but they should exercise their right to do so… What people should be pist about is the amount of money we have to spend at the grocery store… the fact that our tax dollars are being misused. Not at a woman who is in love and watching her man play football… We Americans better get it together before we completely destroy this country…
Completely agree. Taylor Swift is a role model for girls and young women. We dont need to like her political views to understand that and respect it. Shes modest. Shes kind. Shes giving. Shes literally a wonderful human being who happens to be a liberal. Good people can be liberals. And alienating her and her fans is a BAD idea.

Some comments I read of people talking about her are literally scary. Not criticizing her musical abilities or even her political views but plainly wishing her bad things. Also, stating her views on politics, doesn’t make her political. She spoke out against Trump. Wow, what a crime! That’s literally what every other celebrity did, when he was running for office the first time around. Again, you don’t have to agree with her. But it’s not like she’s making big political decisions or running for office herself. She’s not a politician. Taylor also stopped supporting Biden. She simply tells people to vote for whoever they want. I've found that like most she's simply going off what the media is saying. I wonder if she's figured out that the media was being dishonest about Trump like they did her and that's why she's not as vocal. I also think she knows that even if she did support conservatives and didn't bash Trump it would be career ending. She's almost backed into a corner. What I do know is that Taylor is a good role model for women to look up to. She is very charitable and hasn't let fame go to her head. I do believe that Travis and her will get married and have kids. If you follow their relationship at all you can see there's something different about them compared to either of their previous relationships. They bring out the best in each other. I agree. Taylor vocally is not Whitney Houston. But you got to give it to her as a business woman. She has really created a fan base that keeps her on top. That takes some amount of talent and strategy. Also, the overall experience of the eras tour is very impressive. I like her music and the concert. I do not really care who she votes for. I think Americans don't realise how crazy their politics seem to other countries. This isn't me complaining about Americans as people but - as a European we dislike Trump AND Biden and think the two party system is bizarre.
I disagree. One of the reasons women find Taylor really relatable is because she feels very much like the antithesis of the "it girl"... She's a bit awkward. Her hair and such aren't always just so... especially mid-way through a show and her curls are rebelling into straight up frizz. She can't dance all that well but dear girl tries her best. She rambles on about her three cats quite a lot. Relationships are hard. It's more like she embodies every normal woman's fantasy that we suddenly become superstar princesses.

Ben talking about how her songs sound like a 17 year old...the last song he heard of her was probably Love Story, that she actually wrote when she was 17 years old lol. OBS: I'm a Taylor fan, i know ALL of her songs, i know ALL of her albums by heart, Taylor has an unbeliavable talent to write extremely deep songs about any kind of theme. Of course, she mostly chooses to write about romance but the way she does that now, is nothing compare to what she used to do at 17, she is the only great/deep songwriter among all the big pop singers. Unfortunally people don't know that, she is not known for that in the main stream, but Taylor's real talent is in that "hidden" songs in the middle of her albums that only fans know, and that's what it is.
@@seanhosey9009 I mean that is patently and unequivocally untrue. Have you ever listened to any of the songs off of her two folk albums, Folklore and Evermore? Clearly not.

I loved Allie Beth Stuckey’s podcast episode on this. I think it was fair and thoughtful, and I loved her main point: people who are going to vote for Biden are going to vote for him, regardless of what TS says. They vote how they’re told to and if they are compliant, they will no matter who tells them to, sadly.
I mean... not a great comment. You are showing you can't look at things proportionately at all. 1:NFL isn't focused on her, she isn't even shown for 1% of the showing, 2: ads are 10x worse than her being shown, but don't get half the hate,3: you are diminishing one person because they are associated with another person, who is just slightly over-shown, which is mind-boggling to me, 4: you are assuming and saying that she is basically a slut just because you don't like her/that the nfl thinks she's good for business. I think it's fine to feel a way, but fair for her to feel similarly weirded out by an out of touch comment. That's just my thought though.
Soooo.... Rather than use her interest in the game to gain a shared interest with your niece, or at a minimum building up your relationship with your family giving you a chance to influence and talk with/advise her, you, an adult, tore down something she liked, rather than both of you learning what you liked about the other's thing. I can't help but wonder if you'll have much influence on your niece going forward. Except perhaps in the 'If he's fer it, I'm agin it' sort of way. I mean I know the NFL's plan is hoping that Dads might find something they can do with their Daughters (or uncles with their nieces, brothers with sisters etc.) after this Taylor-made craze dies down, and thus grow their ratings and fanbase, but damn, to hate the idea of this 'gateway celebrity' so much you'd hurt your relationship with your family, that's...well, I'd see it as an own goal, right up there with Steve Smith (Edmonton Oilers, 1986, NHL, Hockey's much more my game.)
Glad you're all about strengthening the family unit and promoting family values. I'm sure when your niece is confronted with a lot of peer pressure to think or act differently, she'll take your wise advice into account and hold you to esteem.

my problem isn't with Taylor. no, it's with her fans, who obsess over her, go to 3+ of her concerts, make her their whole personality. don't get me wrong, some of her songs are good. but obsessing THIS much over a person is a bit of an issue
Spitting facts here Brett. The conservative side needs to pick their battles and not hate on things just because they're popular. I used to look down on Taylor Swift just cause she was 'popular', but I've grown to respect her for her business smarts and actually listened to her music and found i enjoy some of it.
As a middle age Swiftie, her politics don’t influence me, I can see why they might influence younger people. People like Candace Owens constantly attacking her is frustrating and pushes her fans even further away from the right.
Personally, I don’t want to have biological children. It’s not because I’m a Swiftie, it’s because of the risks of pregnancy. I would much rather adoption, because that way, I can give children a nice home, family, and lots of love, without the pain, stress, (and tbh) the medical bills.
People forget that you can like celebrities regardless of your or their politcal views, basing your whole life around politics is unhealthy. She's a nice girl who isn't acting a fool and negatively influencing going girls. If people are going to be upset, be upset over something that actually matters. And hating her just to hate her doesnt make a person cool.
i'm a swiftie and i think that taylor shouldn't endorse any side. she's an artist, and she does it well. those people need to catch a break and stop running to the opposite ends of the political spectrum. and no, she's not a psy-op. this woman is spending ages churning out albums and performing, i dont think she has the time to give a shit 💀
At least we are not puting people in prison just for being Democrats... Nor are we setting the FBI after Democrats just for being Democrat, or for believing in abortion... Even though we should be puting in prison people who are actively sexualizing children in schools as young as 5 years old...
I'm more annoyed with the NFL and the news reporting on her every move. It's annoying how both right and left are making her into a political situation, it's annoying.
I’m a conservative and a swiftie…. Honestly the way the right loathes her makes me feel alienated from the right. It makes me annoyed by them and not want to vote for them. I obviously will continue to vote right because I believe in the right to life and so much more that they stand for but I do not like these people who are petty like this. I disliked trump already….. but this is just a cherry on top. Will I vote for him? Yes. Will I be happy about it? Not a chance.
This whole thing is stupid. For a party that cries like a spoiled brat about nobody agreeing to disagree anymore and how they're persecuted for existing, persecuting for someone else just existing is the pot calling the kettle. She's allowed to have her political opinions and not like a president. Don't like then move on and find something better to do with your day then hating on a woman who doesn't even know you exist.

But there’s a lot of people that aren’t political that will come to defend her and they will bleed the Republican party.

I’m not a “Swifty” but I wouldn’t start a campaign war against her. One would think those in charge of the rights campaign would see that. Could we all begin acting like grown ups with common sense? A campaign war just enforces the lefts agenda. My daughter growing up had entertainers like Brittany Spears and Miley Cyrus as role models. I would have been ecstatic if Taylor Swift would have been in that line up.

My grandpa loves Taylor Swift. Not specifically for her music, but her as a human being. A few weeks ago, during dinner, my grandpa said he has a prediction, I say “ok, what is it?” He says something like “By 2024 or 2025, Taylor Swift will either start a record company where the artist and everyone involved get paid their fair share. Or she’ll start a ticketing company like Ticketmaster, except she’ll do it in the right way, she won’t scam people, or do any of the poor crap that Ticketmaster did“ I would say that Taylor is 100% genuine. Even way before I was a swiftie, she always seemed so genuine and real, she seemed nice, caring; just an amazing person. And I hear & read nothing but great things about her from the people who have met her or know her. My grandpa is a very wise man, he can see through any BS. If he thought Taylor was full of crap in anyway, he would’ve never said what he said at dinner a few weeks ago.
I think Taylor was politically heavy in 2020, and I say this as a fan, so she didn't get canceled again, with rumors of her being an Over-Priveleged, Too-Rich-and-White Republican. She was turning 30, and she said in Miss Americana that she knew (at the time she thought) that the Lover Era was probably the last time she could be that 'Bejeweled' again. When an artist has their 1989 Era moment with being that on top and famous and then having the lowest moment in their career one year before a Reputation come back they most likely won't rise from those ashes, Taylor honestly is an exception because she knows how to reinvent herself, because she's a 'mirrorball' who knows how to shake it off. People get sick of people and choose who they love and who is too old. And once they decide that, the views go down, the headlines stop talking about your success, and there is NO Eras Tour moment again. I think Taylor has another 10 years in her career, if not more and she pulls a Dolly Parton.

"I'm so disappointed with the Right's demonization of Taylor." Are you equally disappointed in her demonization of the Right?

"Power Is In Tearing Apart Human Minds To Pieces , And Putting Them Together Again In New Shapes Of Your Own Choosing" 🎯🎯🎯
…what?
Oh yes, very much this! 🎯
Nobody really listened to tyler joseph of twenty one pilots when he said to vote for trump
i'm a swiftie and i think that taylor shouldn't endorse any side. she's an artist, and she does it well. those people need to catch a break and stop running to the opposite ends of the political spectrum.
and no, she's not a psy-op. this woman is spending ages churning out albums and performing, i dont think she has the time to give a shit 💀
Everyone should just leave her alone, her endorsing Biden won’t mean much
I’m so tired of Taylor Swift, she has some good songs, but I really couldn’t care less about the rest of it
Then don’t listen to her!
she has no good songs at all, i could scream better than the talent in all her songs combined
@@inzanium then do it
@@kenny995 i wont curse your ears with that, just like i would not curse your ears with her music
My goodness, someone FINALLY gets it!!
I didn’t think I would see it.
These people (republicans) have lost their freaking minds
At least we are not puting people in prison just for being Democrats... Nor are we setting the FBI after Democrats just for being Democrat, or for believing in abortion... Even though we should be puting in prison people who are actively sexualizing children in schools as young as 5 years old...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol if all Americans were this intelligent, the country would be much better off.
I don't care about Taylor Swift...Next Question.
I'm more annoyed with the NFL and the news reporting on her every move. It's annoying how both right and left are making her into a political situation, it's annoying.
The Cult of Taylor Swift…
The girl who sings about her bad choices in men.
Not always, she sings about her family, stereotypes, downsides of life and happiness too.
@@ItsaMeMarti maybe so, but her big hits are usually about her relationships.
@@PiratePrincessYuki True
Politics is NOT beige.
Her music is beige.
Oh my God, who the hell cares?
“T swift baby boom,” had me rolling
This is why I enjoy your content. Regardless of your political views, you use logic when discussing topics
This young girl is so right. lots of people have thought they could take on Taylor Swift, and lost miserably
If she endorses Joe Biden, just go on with your life and vote the way you want to. But there’s a lot of people that aren’t political that will come to defend her and they will bleed the Republican party.
Who cares?
Who cares?
Who cares?
Calm down with this bleeding bro
@@bianiii1142 how funny “calm down” is a of Taylor Swift songs.
5:18 is one of my biggest issues with conservatives. Im conservative but I also love pop culture and it’s kind of disappointing when my conservative friends get after me for liking certain bands and stuff. This is why young people don’t like us and are not gonna listen to us. If I wasn’t so strong in my beliefs I would’ve left the right by now. We are repulsive to my generation because of how weird we are about pop culture. And I’m not even talking about celebs that are obnoxious with their beliefs and disgusting; we get it in our heads that even celebs who barely talk about their beliefs are the exact same.
This has to change… please… I need more conservative nerdy friends 😭
Same! I like some pop music, but I've learned to just not look into the artist. I have a strick "only music" rule, where I only listen to the music, don't watch the MV, and never look up the artist. It kees my life rather drama free XD
@@RojinDrawsStuff That is so wise! I only recently started doing that and I wish I had started sooner. Im still not very good at it as I will accidentally find out things about bands that I wish I never knew💀
My heart feels so full hearing a bunch of people defend Taylor Swift. She's just a person. She's successful, she hasn't lost her mind like most of the other celebs, and she has good values. Some people could find her annoying, idk, but she's been the least problematic and best potential role model in this industry.
"NOTICE ME SENPAI!! PLEEEEEAASSE!!!"
Hahahaha i cant believe someone actually said that 🤣😂🤣
We'll see how this video holds up... 🤔
It isnt going to age well
This video was much needed, thank you Brett!!!! I found this channel about a week ago and I can’t believe I didn’t find it sooner. Glad to know there are still people with common sense in this insane world.
Swifties, it's your time. I'm 72 and as I look back, voting is something I am very proud of. You have a responsibility. It's not just one vote amoung millions. It's an honor to the person you see in the mirror. Nice houses and cars won't replace 'doing the right thing' as you look back at the end of your life.
That pewdiepie sound byte is a classic lol
I'm curious as to what's going to be said in this video!
Can you talk about the AI ads with endorsements by Gordon Ramsay, Kendal Jenner, and I believe Jennifer Anniston ..I’m sure there are others but these are the ones I’ve seen at least twice each where they (not actually them obviously) claim they’ll be giving something grand away to the first some odd number of people who sign up. ..something too good to be true, because it is, and it’s always before videos like yours or other prominent UA-camrs. And I wanna note that it’s super creepy cause you can see that the way their mouth moves is inhuman and also done by technology. It’s weird and I’d LOVE TO HEAR YOU AND YOUR TEAM’S TAKE ON THIS!
why can’t we just leave her alone. she’s a singer.
She does have a history of choosing the wrong men...
Thank you!! This is what I’ve been saying!! The right has such a weird bone to pick with Taylor and it’s so stupid. I’ve never understood why, is it because of Kanye? Do people feel betrayed by her because country music is more right leaning? I literally cannot wrap my head around it.
People have this stupid idea that because you’re red and someone else is blue we can’t respect each other or get along. You have to hate them because they’re blue. Like what? That’s so childish, you call yourselves adults but throw a fit against someone you don’t know because they don’t have all the same beliefs or views as you. People are idiots.
Jesus both sides honestly are total aids. Blue and red.
THANK YOU for calling out the AI generated news parroting!! So infuriating.
Taylor who?
I’m not a “Swifty” but I wouldn’t start a campaign war against her. One would think those in charge of the rights campaign would see that. Could we all begin acting like grown ups with common sense? A campaign war just enforces the lefts agenda. My daughter growing up had entertainers like Brittany Spears and Miley Cyrus as role models. I would have been ecstatic if Taylor Swift would have been in that line up.
I like Brittany Spears, I don't know what her politics is, and I don't want to find out! When she goes to the voting booth, let if be just her, I don't want to know who she voted for!
I don't feel one way or the other about Taylor Swift. I just want the media to tone down the constant coverage of her. Stop talking about her. Please.
"The most unproblematic women in the world". Brett with all due respect , it sounds like you are just insanely unaware of how with every album cycle she has continued to manipulate her audience into believing she is always the victim in order to sell more records, also in numerous interviews and songs openly spitting in the face of any religious belief or perspective going out of her way to show her disdain towards christian sexual beliefs and saying they make her feel caged.
Exactly
My grandpa loves Taylor Swift. Not specifically for her music, but her as a human being.
A few weeks ago, during dinner, my grandpa said he has a prediction, I say “ok, what is it?” He says something like “By 2024 or 2025, Taylor Swift will either start a record company where the artist and everyone involved get paid their fair share. Or she’ll start a ticketing company like Ticketmaster, except she’ll do it in the right way, she won’t scam people, or do any of the poor crap that Ticketmaster did“
I would say that Taylor is 100% genuine.
