I was a little surprised no-one went for the "Bill Bailey lookalikes created by the dozen when hard-boiled eggs dropped on barber's floor" vein, but maybe that's just been done? I love Bill's complete refusal to be offended by such jokes. Watching that "Towers of London" quasi-punk dude trying to rile him up with such material on "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" years back and completely failing was wonderful.
@@anyquestions9931 i miss a lot of things. Do you remember spitting image? And brass eye? And the savage eye an irish one. Scathing political comedy. Now the news is the most laughable slapstick!
I'm disappointed that even in the extended version the question about the keeper of the Scottish seal didn't get a single observation about the keeper of the Scottish walrus.
Picturing another gag where they go with the "Sir Lancelot charging the castle" scene in "Holy Grail". You could even include the subsequent wedding slaughter as "Vlad greets journalists".
Lol I once many many years ago I met Paul Watson (a North American environmental activist) in a bar and met him because I said “sorry to stare but you look like …” and his table and ours had a great evening. But now I’m wondering if he was just a look alike 😂♥️🇨🇦
Bill Bailey AND Helen Lewis. Doesn't get much better than this unless they had Jess Phillips, too!! I want to see Jess and Helen vs. Paul and Ian with Steph McGovern in the chair!! There'd only be small shards of Ian's tweed jacket left after that one!
Everyone was great, but I think "Joke of the Episode" has to go to Helen Lewis and her "woman finds self pregnant" gag. Even the seasoned pros lost it at that!
i hope this comment doesn't age poorly, but i've always appreciated Paul's palpable disgust when the topic of sexual crimes comes up. i'm sure most people dislike sex crimes, but i'm always comforted by just how angry it seems to make Paul
50 k for stone seats in a damp country with no shelter yes of course. Thats more helpful than funding chess clubs 😂 it will cost more in providing pile medication through the nhs!
Ah, guess outdoor chess isn't a thing in London, eh? You don't normally supply the pieces for outdoor, inner city chessboards. (Or else you're on the hook for replacing them.) People bring their own. (Just like a basketball court) The appeal is A: You can play randos and even a novice player might do something unexpected that helps an experienced player stay sharp. B: Even if playing against a friend, and you both presumably have chess sets and could choose to play anywhere, fixed, outdoor tables tend to be larger and more comfortable to play on. Cheap chess sets are often small and can be annoying, as you strain to avoid knocking over other pieces. C: It makes the game more social. NYC actually has quite rich traditions of neighborhood gurus of chess, checkers and dominoes. Okay, obviously the dominoes games are more about the money, but there's still a skill element! None of this is to say it's wise public investment, just to give some insight into the logic behind it.
This is such a lovely show. How Paul also stands by Ian with jokes that can go bad but now just are amazing. I wish the Dutch version was just a tiny bit as good as this one. The host is alright, the standard panelists are great, but the guests are just so cringy and gruesome.

Bill Bailey is such a delight to watch😊
Yes, if Bill Bailey is hosting then it's going to be a fun one.
Love the purple suit coat!
A delight he is (Yoda voice...) 🙂
@@zapfanzapfanOffended I am!
It's easy to see why they brought this panel back together again! Fantastic episode!
Best 5 I have seen in a long time...........loved it.
It's a formidable skill to make anyone smile during a round-up of the world's news, but HIGNFY never fails (for me at least).
Thanks ViVa.
Thanks! It's always good to see a Bit More News.
How remarkkable you send this joy to us so promptly!
kudos to all!
Even living across the pond and in the centre of North America, this always makes my week!!!
Possibly one of the funniest episodes. Bill Bailey is brilliant!
Thanks Viva
Daliso has one of the best laughs.
This show absolutely makes my week. TY so much for sharing ViVaHD.♥
The Hebrides anecdote was definitely a brilliant addition. 😂

Yay! Sunday night will have laughter again.
Before Monday doom
@billkingston4402 comes out Monday here in Oz so eases the pain
I love how the laughter turns to cheers the moment he catches the pint LOL
the apocalypse is nigh. ian has won 3 games in 6. we're done for ...
That’ll be rectified, surely
😂
His team wins so rarely. Nice!
Paul was on fire this week. This group are always great together 😅
That look he does at 23:25 is impeccable!
Thank you. This is such a treat.
Possibly the best episode of this series so far!
Great panel line up
Most hilarious episode I can remember seeing in quite a few years. Bill is a treasure.
Bill Bailey is brilliant, and the unedited version is so much funnier
Why when Liz Truss speaks, does she look like she is doing a spoof of herself? 😂
She's just THAT inept!
I wasn't sure if it was Nerine Skinner's real impersonation, or the parody that is Liz Truss.
I will never, ever understand how they could make her Prime Minister. At no point has she displayed ANY skill or charisma.
@@louieberg2942 I think you answered your own question.
Because shes a pure clown.
Thank you!
Some brilliant extra bits there, thanks Viva!
Bill Bailey is always a terrific host on HIGNFY. Excellent episode!
Anything with Bill Bailey in it is so funny!
Thank you
Putin walking along to the Get Smart theme
Ah...that explains Putin's limp. It's his shoe phone!
"Would you believe we'll take Kyiv in 3 days?".
Love, love, love it!!!
Another brilliant show👍
The cutting room floor must have comedy gold carpet.....
Hats off to the closed captions. "Don't talk over each other" "*THEY ALL TALK OVER EACH OTHER*"
I wonder if somone said that or if the captions writer was just getting pissed off! 🤣 i really hope its the latter.
Bill's HMRC letter, lmao. Bureaucracy in a nutshell.
Best episode of the series. Finally some witty remarks by Paul
Hes great when he gets going. I remember a few years when i was a kid he barely spoke...I thought he was on strike or something.

Full episode crew roll out!
I'm disappointed that even in the extended version the question about the keeper of the Scottish seal didn't get a single observation about the keeper of the Scottish walrus.
Simply brilliant!
Much funnier in Italy where it's the uncensored version!!.
Helen's hair is gorgeous.
The Putin gag was just perfection.
Definitely the best thing Putin has been involved in in a very, very long time. 😂
i think its better in the "more" version because of the longer space between the putin updates.
Did we see that the last time he was elected?
There is a similar video...don't remember if it was post election.

Legend has it Putin's still on his little stroll...
Let him walk, keeps his zany brain occupied.
In all those years, did they never use a metalworking magazine for Paul?
Bill = Legend
That may be the funniest ever instance of "I thought that's digitally altered for humorous effect."
a bit more thanks ViVaHD
Laugher is the best medicine.
16:02 There's something wrong with me humor, but this bit about "sword-wrangling" had to be my highlight for this episode

30:11 Don’t worry Ian, I got the Trollop(e) joke! 😅
doesnt Trump do the same leaning thing that the guard at 19:06 was doing when he was speaking to the press
Trump thinks it makes him look thinner from the front, which is rather odd considering his perfect herculean statue and perfect weight.
My thoughts exactly - I immediately thought of Trump when I saw that.
Someone on this show once said he stands like the front half of a centaur
edit: I think it was Helen Lewis
Thanks!
