I loved this game as teenager, still do today. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is fun too although it has poor reputation. I think this game series should have a remake as it’s story and setting still has great potential to be so much more than it turned out.
Both games had shit stories lets be honest The Catalyst at least tries to make anything out of it. The best way they could've designed the story to these games is to not "make" it at all, or rather, insert it into the environment, design something that you can explore and see only when you stop and observe what is happening around you, all the details in the surrounding area, the walls, billboards, computer texts, papers, colors etc. It's what made the OG ME so magical but even there it wasnt expanded enough. Ocassional character dialogue would have been cool too like the Shard "Who is November?" in the OG Mirror's Edge. The few lines that has been said by Faith there are what made the game feel alive. ; )

Back when AAA developers weren't afraid to take risks in making new, unique games. Now it feels like almost all games have to follow existing formulas that have been proven to sell well.
This, companies are too afraid to try something new, and whenever something new is done, it’s usually a indie game, because they actually WANT to make games, companies want to make money.
There was this one part in the subway on my first playthrough, and there were two shotgun dudes. There was a train behind me, so I had to duck into there. I got shot a couple times, but I managed to get close to one of the shotgunners. I kicked his gun into the air knocked him out, turned left, blasted his friend, and then shot the first guy on the floor because he wasn't _dead._ the only part of my first playthrough I remember. (I don't have the best aim, this felt amazing)
Its nice that she almost doesnt kill anybody (apart from the people that got their neck snapped and that got kicked off of buildings or shot wait shit she does kill a lot of people nvm then)
I think canonically she minimizes casualties, because in the end of the game a news broadcast says there were 9 people killed during the final mission, despite you being allowed to kill wayyyyyy more than 9.

Don't know if Jesus gonna forgive me giving money for EA during 2021 to make games preach gender and ethic equality as advertisement, making a terrible game with 0 content aside copy every thing COD have done previously. It is my fault for EA keep making shitty games.
Man games back then used to have so much personality. Like all the recent AAA games are recycled, boring stuffs while Mirrors Edge came up with a completely unique approach. First person creative combat with Parkour? Like damn... Loved Catalyst too. But ME was still advanced than Catalyst.

The game's use of PhysX holds up... but you do have to do a tiny bit of install directory tweaking to try it to work nowadays

Catalyst is a great game, and it's a good successor to the original game. Whoever gives it a bad rep I couldn't cale less about.
I absolutely love both games. Used to play Original ME for years and now have almost 600 hours in Catalyst alone.

the combat may have not being good but the takedowns are really great and fast paced to really suggest the speed of faith
too bad 95% of them are very unrealistic
