Hey, Jabman ! I was enjoying a nice high and rewatching some of your older reviews and I noticed something I liked about them opposed to the more recent ones. In your older reviews you tended to point out some cool trivia about the decals and such on the kit. I really liked that and thought it was a really good way to plant interest in older gundam episodes. Imagine a newer fan who got into the franchise though SEED seeing this review and all the interesting trivia then getting inspired to get into UC thus growing the fanbase a bit. It's just a cool thought. Never the less, your reviews are always great keep it up.
I like how Shin made fun of Johnny in one of the MSV mangas. Calling Johnny the Red Comet was hilarious. Even Char was there during the conversation and he chuckled on Shin's insult to Johnny.
Got this as my first Zaku because I liked the color and wanted the giant bazooka. Ended up leaving off the two outermost pieces of leg armor to show off more of the internals. I enjoyed building it a lot and didn't mind the cables too much
I bought this kit based on your review. I like the way it looks and am currently customizing it for Char as apposed to Johnny. I've also had issues with Sharpie lines smearing after they've been applied. I realized that the oil on the plastic is what causes it. If you wash the parts in warm water with dish soap, it gets that oily film off the plastic and the sharpie lines won't smear. Just fill your sink with about 5 to 6 inches in luke warm water, use a lot of dish soap, and agitate the whole parts tree in the water for a few seconds. That should get that oily film off the plastic. If not then spray the parts down with window cleaner. That will take off whatever may be left after the wash.
Hi Jabman!! I don't know if anyone has shared this but there is way to remove the individual cable parts easily. As you have mentioned, the connection is "slide" it down is taking a toll on the fingers but if you notice on the sprue, stick what not there are ridges that hold the cable parts, so just clip it real close and it will just pop out easily. It will definitely save you a lot of pain and trouble!!! ;) hope this helps!
When you do your mono eye, i found a way to expand upon your idea. If you take some 800 grit sand paper ( i use the 2mm godhand sanding sticks) you dont have to worry about it rubbing off
"I am Johnny Ridden, the Crimson Lightning. Remember that name when we meet in Hell!" I really liked his Gelgoog in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2. Don't think he was playable as a pilot though...and he was totally gone in 3... I don't care about the hampered legs or the unwieldy bazooka, this kit's goin' on my list.
Surprised you had trouble with the big bazooka. I got one with my 2.0 Zaku IIF and I've never had an issue. If you like Zakus I'd recommend the J or the Minelayer, they're both great. Any chance your 100th will be the Sinanju Stein? If so that's a great 100th kit. Could you review your GP03, please?
It always annoys me how people talk about bad nubs and regards them as a valid trait of a bad kit, but really those people just don't take the time to do the proper cleanup.
Why is it the heat hawks are always so small? like everytime i see them in any gundam series they look huge. Like they look more of a broad axe, then a hatchet.
Why you didn't show us the joinst between legs with hips?? It' helps alot to consider buying it or not, cause it's the most fragile part for most gunpla's parts problem
this is going to sound cliche as fuck, but when you were talking about all the painful cable construction all I thought was back to my Real Grade Zaku and how horrible it was to do and thought "No pain no gain jabman" :)
after you finish with a built, we end up with a lot of the plastic frames. to throw them away is such a waste, does anyone out there know what to do with them? recycle maybe. these are good quality plastic, and we actually paid for them.
Why u call Zaku machine gun a beam rifle !!!!! Zaku can't handle beam weapons !!!!! Come on Jabman you being a self proclaimed "huge zaku fan" its only natural to call a MACHINE GUN.

KuroWaltsu3 i was thinking about the exact same thing
KuroWaltsu3 You should post this on his newest video.

Logan Cracraft use gundam markers.

6 years later and still no DOm 2.0.... Which is a testament to how good the original was, but still.....
2022 must've been a surprise with that 2.0 Dom
This is very cool Zaku II custom not just because of color scheme but also because of all those thrusters. Plus having huge bazooka helps as well.
the custom touch you put on the commander antenna is great!
I wonder if Johnny Ridden kits will get any more mg reprints
Wild to see this video and realize the RG is basically a scaled down version of this kit down to the articulation
Just got this today. A start to collecting ALL of the Ace Pilot Zaku 2 High Mobility Types
They all have the same problems? Like the black tristars and shin matsunaga

If I ever get back into gunpla, I think a Cima custom Gelgoog is on my list of things I want to build.
Not sure if this is already pointed out, but Johnny's last name is actually pronounced as "Raiden".
The big Bazooka is called a Rakaten Baz.
no it isnt, it's a giant bazooka, they are the same bazookas that were used by Doms.

Yeh Y some nubs can't be cleaned up well and if they're in an obvious position it's considered a bad nub.
understood
I have this kit and have not seen any bad nubs tbh.
Or bandai could just take the time to undergate.
pretty Cool i like the Suit Zaku Cause they have all these particular and unique pices
If you have the kit can you do a review of the MG Gyan?
I thought Char piloted this suit lol
What type of paint did you use(acrylic, oil, laquer, etc)?
Why is it the heat hawks are always so small? like everytime i see them in any gundam series they look huge. Like they look more of a broad axe, then a hatchet.

Can you please review the mega size zaku II regular ver please
I love this kit but your right about the cables I wish they where like the providence it was great with the rubber
TrizzSantana mmm no. The tubes look better the way Bandai chose to do it with this kit. Makes it more appealing to experienced builders.
I love zakus!!
You do know you're doing a review of the MG Johnny Ridden's custom MS06R2 Zaku II High Mobility Type Ver 2.0.
Ok thanks for replying.
hey, its the red comet!
johnny shall cringe every time he's called that.
whats the latch on the back of the back hip skirt near the top of it
J Prime hard point . It flips open to store weapons
Did you paint this kit ?
Wats ur 100th mg ur goin to build
this is going to sound cliche as fuck, but when you were talking about all the painful cable construction all I thought was back to my Real Grade Zaku and how horrible it was to do and thought "No pain no gain jabman" :)
why did ou paint that red, could have just cleaned it off

My buddy has built 7+ Zaku 2 2.0 Kits and has built one that is multi colored from all the left over parts
I want them to make a MG phantom in the worst kind of way.
Dammit Char, give the man a break.
love how all these non cannon side story zeon pilots are so fricken overly powered. lol
The cable is the worst part, i injured my finger while working on itu.
I have the rg version
Thanks for spoiling her death for me!!
the White Ogre is just a white Zaku 2.0...I say Shin's
how old is it?
donald franks its a 9 year old kit bruh.
Ahhhh fingles 😭😭
nvm just watched that part lol
Ok

Suck that the legs lose a lot of it's flexibility. Now this cant kneel.
H&L-GB03K/360mm Giant Bazooka is it's name.
Why u call Zaku machine gun a beam rifle !!!!! Zaku can't handle beam weapons !!!!! Come on Jabman you being a self proclaimed "huge zaku fan" its only natural to call a MACHINE GUN.
Can you buy me a zaku ii 2.0 plz
