Great to see one again…
Mum and dad had one the same for many years
Bought new in 73
I drive the hell out of it when I was a kid …
She was a very reliable and tough old girl
When my parents eventually traded it she had 200,000 + miles on her and still ran like a Swiss watch
Great to hear that mate
You knocked it out of the park with the finish in the boot totally stunning work. She's looking like a Rolls Royce with your finish and attention to detail.....just love these videos.
Cheers bud… yeah I’m over the moon with the finish
That tyre change tool cradle satisfies every OCD bone in my body, fantastic work Jason, great shed music too.
That’s one legendary set of comments right there mate! You win the prize !!!
Damn straight aye… it’s the bloody OCD that wouldn’t let me settle for anything less
Old world work ethic, not happy until it's done right. Beautiful work on that tank and THAT boot...just chuck in a tv, a couch and a fridge and you could live comfortably in there.
lol the furniture is ordered my friend
Thanks Jason for another great video. I am finding this spellbinding. The ZF / ZG in my mind are arguably the most attractive model Fairlanes ever made.
Cheers George… yeah I agree about the design too
Hi Jason. You're obviously doing well...that boot area is a work of art! Beautiful!
As you know mate trimming is my strong suit… I’m so enjoying the opportunity to finally showcase those skills.
You certainly don't mess around Jason, fantastic result in the boot looking forward to the head lining and interior going in. ☺
Thanks mate yes that will be in the next vid
Hi Jason,
It looks amazing!
Very exciting finishing bits and I can't wait to see the next video of your work and I'm glad that Peter is doing your engine for you.
You and Pete are legends :)
Cheers Andrew… nice to have you along for the journey
Amazing work, I’ve really enjoyed watching your work and the progress you’ve made. A testament to your skill and attention to detail
Mate thank you …. There’s someone recently behind the scenes who needs some recognition too. My other half Katrina for putting up with my shit and the OCD and who sacrifices so much by hanging in there and giving me the freedom to do this. Plus my mates and in fact everyone who has subscribed and following the build… without you guys, your advice and encouragement this car would never be finished.
Fantastic work Jason, you and Peter are masters 👍
Thanks so much for sharing the journey with us mate
You made the right call swapping the petrol tank out, It looks amazing!
Yeah I recon mate…
It looks gorgeous Jason. I was enthralled all the way through. I know exactly what you mean when you say how nice it looks. Very nice 🙂.
Thanks so much mate… I appreciate your eye for the details and encouragement you’ve given me all the way through
Wow. Just wow. What a beautiful job. Such a pleasure to see. Can hardly wait to see the rest. Cheers.
Same mate… I’m itching to get back into the shed but I’ve got to divide my time evenly between work, relationship and shed. Next up it the hood lining
Nice work! all you need now is the jack sticker inside the boot lid
neat as! That was my mums daily driver. Ah the memories.
Those are the things we cling to aye mate… the memories
You do amazing work Jason. That boot is sweet as. Better than my bedroom 😂
Love customizing things mate… even bedrooms lol

Cheers mate… was so much fun putting that one together
all magnificent!! ty for sharing. also your editing is also fabulous.
Oh wow thanks mate for the compliment about the editing…. I had so much content I had to really work hard on getting enough info into each sub topic to make it newsworthy and interesting… really glad you picked up on that mate
Great Job Jason on getting the fuel tank looking great.
Cheers mate… yeah that came up a treat aye. Thanks for joining me on the journey bud.
Nice work mate, should be a beautiful car when shes finished !
Fantastic Jason, she's a beauty. 👏🍺
Beautiful work Jason be proud of all you have done nothing wrong with seeking perfection it can sometimes drive us mad, but it separates us from the average car restorer Peter Andersons work is magnificent some of his skills have brushed off on you well done.
Cheers bud thanks for sharing my journey
Beautiful. I like how you pay attention to details.
Cheers mate
Excellent job in the boot (trunk).

Hey mate. Best one yet. That boots summernats material. God damn. Just the right amount of carpet paint and chrome.
Damn shame you werent on the original design team so everyones looked like that haha.
So exciting. Cannot improve on perfection mate.
Oh mate that’s high praise… thanks so much for the big thumbs up… thanks for joining me on the journey
Love this series
That last one ZF 42 was the most fun I’ve had in ages mate… thanks for hanging in there with the series
Top work Jason you need to change your name to Howard Astill just having a joke with you from Phill with the XF Falcon 😃
Cheers bud… hope you’re well. Thanks for hanging in the mate
Looking great
Boot looks mint 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers bud
The reason for that breather on top of the tank is to allow air to escape while refueling at the bowser, if this isnt used you will experience fuel blow back when you are filling the tank and get covered in fuel as happens with the tank when the charcoal canister is connected to the emissions type tank which you have in the car at the moment
Yeah aware of all that mate… so I’m going back to the 70’s to roll the dice with blow back …. Back in the day ya kinda got used to triggering off at a certain point close to full to let everything equalize aye…
Great work fella. Looks terrific!
Cheers bud
Amazing and patient work Jason... congrats on fantastic effort and work so far. Can't wait to see it finished and gleaming and just in time for summer .... 👍 .. well done. Hopefully one day you will get Peter to get out his white XW and put them side by side and go for a cruize somewhere...
Oh mate that’s a great idea … hey thanks so much for joining me on this journey
Absolutely beautiful work Jason. Gets me motivated seeing this. Thanks for these great videos mate.
Oh mate thank you also… your regular support and feedback on this journey has helped keep me focused… really appreciate it aye.

Making good progress lately, keep up the motivation! It's looking great.
Cheers mate… glad you’re still hanging in there
Love it
Brilliant mete
Cheers bud… thanks for hanging in there on the journey
Marvellous work Jason
Cheers mate
Hey Jason, great to see you getting spoilt with a refreshment 😉. Apologies if I missed it mate but was the heat gun used to just speed up the process or is it required to flash off etc?
Just to speed up the drying mate… the tank needed to be 100% bone dry before the final step of putting the sealer in … yes I’m sooo lucky to have Katrina… I couldn’t do what I do without her aye mate. not many guys are given permission to obsess over a resto
Hi, where you put carpet between the back seat and the boot...Older Bathurst cars had a 3mm plate in there to stiffen up the car.
Looks suspiciously like a Mercury. 😇
Bit going on here Hilly
Been a few years since I’ve heard hilly lol
@@BoyAnachronism01 love these vids mate.
@@GODEES77 lotta fun making them mate… it kinda spurs me on and keeps me motivated to get the car finished
@@BoyAnachronism01 do you take on upholstery work or is it just for yourself and mates? My 16 year old son inherited a VE SV6 from my late father. It has a couple interior issues which I can solve like plastics ect, but one thing I have no idea about is the roof lining. If you don’t do that stuff do you recommend anyone. Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give
@@GODEES77 one of my vids explains how to do it mate… it’s really easy… there’s a company called vyfab in big all rd Moorabbin that sell the fabric… it’s really easy… you just need to pull down all of the door seals and plastics that hold the hood lining board in place… drop it out and pull the old fabric off then with a thin fine spray of contact adhesive spray the board and the back side of the fabric then lay the fabric over the board and press it into the contours… if you live local I can help you do it yourself… don’t pay anyone to do it
electrics all done and sweet? using a haltech or equivalent?
I’m out of my depth with the electrics mate : ( I’ll need help with them
I don’t think it came from the factory that nice
I think you might be right
Now stop exaggerating 😂😂
lol affirmative
