Good stuff. This was/is immensely helpful for me while learning the song, opposed to just using tabs, standard notation and ear. Having you walk through it in detail is like having a private tutor. Thank you for posting.
Thanks man, you really helped me figure out some of the tricky parts. My channel isn't much (I started uploading a few days ago), but I might post a cover of this today. Thank you again!
You could make this instructional video a whole lot better by just angling your guitar slightly more towards the camera, so people can see what you're playing.

from pierre. your version is not accurate at all. sorry but you should listen to the record closely rather than read some tab .I ve been playing jansch and renbourn for nearly 50 years all learned by ear and feel very disapointed to see how many people sabotage their songs on you tube. hope they cannot hear all that from their graves.keep working
+Adam Lewis hello Adam you can see my version on you tube also and hope you can tell the diference.no hard feelings I'm just very much critical when it comes to playing jansch and renbourn music.
Jesus, Pierre lighten up. You've been playing for 50 years? Try learning how to type. Your punctuation is atrocious. And your channel has no videos on it. Not even a profile pic. Therefore, you don't exist.
He never said it was completely accurate. He starts the lesson explaining that he worked on some tab he found and will try to show how things works, but makes it clear it is just a starting point. Your comment is unnecessary because anyone who is as good as you as a guitar player do not need UA-cam lessons at all.

Good lesson. Nice pace and attention to detail is excellent.
Thanks a lot great tutorial I’ve been staring at this tab for ages now and I think I need some human help thank you x.
Yes. Nice pace and attention to all the details referencing frets, strings, hammers/pull-offs.
Thank you for this! I never thought I would be able to tackle such a complex but lovely piece... really nice lesson :-)
Hey, you're welcome, that's great to hear! :)

Genghis Kon You're welcome, that was awesome! You got great covers, glad I was of some help for you. - Ben

Thanks , got there eventually, like you say, it's a start and you can build from here.

lapettina cool man, you're welcome.
it s going to take a year, but I WILL learn this :D my favourite song, I think
Hey, this is great. Great tutorial.
andrw leece Hi andrw, thanks!
very well explained! Thanks!
Great tutorial thank you so much
Thanks man, it helps a lot
great lesson again mate
Thanks so much, brilliant 🙂
Hi John, thanks.
Please, how is the tuning in the 3 fret and DADF#AD or DADGAD..? Its confused for me, thanks
It is a pity, but the camera angle is really bad. I can´t see which fret you are on or what finger you are using.
With clarity, you are very close to Berts style xx
Nigel Mccluskey Hi Nigel, thank you for the kind words! - Ben

Hi, is there any chance you could do a tutorial for strolling down the highway? ive searched youtube but cant find anything.
Nir Mehlman does it and mostly other Bert & John covers. ua-cam.com/video/3GkWlSuP80A/v-deo.html&frags=pl%2Cwn
How is the guitar tuned? Drop D or DADGAD????
HI Hans, that's DADGAD tuning.
It's drop D. This is Bert Jansch's original arrangement of the tune. Jimmy Page's similar arrangement was played it in DADGAD.
You have such soft eyes.

Awesome guys, thanks for sharing!
You're a demi god
Jimmy Page needs to see this video.
And Bert sings to it lol
22:33
Now you too can play like Jimmy page
Terrible echo on the sound track really spoils this otherwise excellent tutorial
Guitar itself sounds a bit ropey - think you need an upgrade
Rattled like a can of rusty old nails.
Guitar's fine.... Mic angle, more than the guitar.
