Nice update. Yes a GW180 will be sufficient for your layout and then use the CW80 for lights accessories. One corner could be a good ol NC pulp yard/ lumber mill. Great job.
You’ve made excellent progress in a short time! It’s clear you’re enjoying this because of the dedication needed to make such an extensive expansion. Wonderful job with the added line!
I am not a fastrack fan however i have to say i love the switch stands lionel puts in the manual switches! I don't like the noise and price of FasTrack but i do kinda like the look of it. The switch stands add character to a southern inspired railroad. I haven't built a full layout but i would inspire it after a simple small town with little details. Speaking of which in one of those corners i would put maybe a small farm house near the town maybe! Great video!
I wasn't a fan of fastrack at the beginning either, until I figured out how to weather and ballast it. As far as the noise goes it can be noisy times but I have foam under the track so its not too bad. The switch stands are awesome, I wish lionel did them in more of their switches other than just the O-36 ones. I love the farm house idea, sounds like it would be awesome! Thanks again man!
Awesome update, Caleb! You have made excellent progress, and the layout expansion looks great! I think you will enjoy that double mainline and the backdrop really adds to the look of your layout. I agree with one of the other commentors that a pulpwood yard would look good in one of the corners and perhaps in the other corner a rock cut with some trees atop it would look good too. Both would add some scenic interest. Keep up the great work! Bill B.
The layout upgrade looks good Caleb. Make sure you come back and visit us at the lower Susquehanna club if you are up for the October York train show. We've done some scenery upgrades as well..
Thank you! And I will for sure next York show! Love the layout and the club is super awesome to hang out at. Can't wait to see the new scenery, thanks again man!
@@calebeastertrains not a problem. We have a lot of fun when we do our open to ouses. It's a great way to meet the community and new friends. As usual we will have food and drinks as well.
Great progress Caleb! You're now the 4th person I've seen get a TrainJunkies backdrop lol. A double track mainline is a must-have for us, you're going to really enjoy it. Glad to see the masking tape trick to hide the seems. We, also, have some spots that we did before we knew about that trick. - Ryan
Thank you man! Train Junkies definetly has some awesome backdrops, I will definetly buy from them again in the future! Yup the masking tape trick seems to work out pretty well, helps hide those seems. Thanks again!
Very nice! The extensions are just what the doctor ordered. Any time that you can add a second main line is a major improvement for your overall operational experience. It will be cool when you get all of the scenery and wiring finished. Scenery is next on my layout, but it is the one thing that I'm not good at. You've done a fine job here and I'm looking forward to the next update. An excellent video, as always.
It is indeed an awesome investment! I love running two trains now! If you ever need any help with scenery feel free to reach out to my instagram at caleb_easter! More than happy to help. Thanks again!
You are a ‘smooth operator’! And a fast builder lol! You are incredibly comfortable and relaxed when on camera and recording videos! Your expansion is fantastic and you’ll love running sessions with a double track mainline. Congratulations on a fantastic expansion and thanks for sharing the layout update! As always, keep up the great work! Cheers! (Cheerwine, of course!)
Haha, that song smooth operator is now stuck in my head lol! I appreciate the kind comment man, it means a lot! And ofc cheerwine is always in the mix, haha! Thanks again man!
Great job on creating a practical addition to your layout. I really like how you've done it. Building a layout is a long progress, so keep on keepin' on! I also really enjoy your channel. As far as the corners, how about a small mountain or cluster of rocks with trees and grass? I've seen this on other layouts, and I think it's a nice change from the usual building many modelers place on the corners.
I appreciate the kind comments! Im glad you enjoy the channel, happy to provide content! I like the idea of it, got a bunch of ideas im debating on, got two corners to work with so maybe a mix of many ideas! Thanks again!
For one of your corners you could put in a farm scene and the other maybe like a hill edge or a hill cut that the trains pay by. Just some food for thought. Happy model railroading from Benjamintrains!
Town side i would do trees and a road leading to town and on the industrial side add a factory, like a plastic plant, I work in a plastic bag manufacturing plant, to add switching. Just a idea.
Hi, Caleb, once again, an excellent video. I took a video of my Southern Crescent passenger train running on my layout and I thought that you might enjoy it. I'm not sure how to send a video to you, whether it is email or Facebook or something else. Let me know.
Great man I’ve been waiting for this and let me tell you it was worth the wait because I love it and I followed you on Facebook and I’m so happy for you because you are practically living your dream and I love it so have fun with the layout man enjoy it!!!

💯 Mike! Couldn't have said it better!
Thank you Mike! It has definetly been a fun process, the second line adds so much fun, thanks again!
Wonderful add-on! Once you go for the double mainline, you never go back!!
Yessir, thats for sure! Thank you!
You did an excellent job on the upgrade/expansion Caleb. Your scenery and landscaping looks absolutely perfect. I love it! Frank
Thank you so much!!
When it comes to the running shots, Your camera and production quality is amazing, especially for a UA-camr in this hobby. Keep up the good work!

@@calebeastertrains your right, they should put switch stands on other switches, like 0-72 switches!

Nice addition to a well thought out space optimizing layout; not too cluttered either.

Love the Progress. I had a layout that looked very similar to yours, but I ended up moving to O42/O54 curves with a hybrid tubular/fastrack plan.
Awesome! And thank you!!
I like that a lot.
Thank you!!
You can buy a DCS Explorer adapter to run a CW-80 to the DCS Explorer, I do it myself on my 4x8 single loop running 2 trains
Nice work dude! A Monon boxcar or two would look great with that freight train of yours 👀👀👀
Maybe! I need to get me one, and thank you!!
Great work. Have you considered an out- cropping of high rock in the corners of the layout to bring some elevation

👌🏼😃
Thank you!
Did you have help with the carpentry? That's some next level stuff the way you extended the benchwork without tossing the old stuff.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yessir!
Like your layout. Are you running scale or semi scale locomotives and rolling stock ? Thanks.
Caleb I am here in N.C. also curious what region
