Glad I lived through a period that produced so many great singers and songs. This is way up there with the best! Great vocals, harmonies and musicianship.
beautiful music, why don't we have stuff like this now, seems the world was a warmer place then, even with cold war, industrial strife, power cuts, the late 60's to the 70's seem to be a time I was in tune with, it wasn't just the music, that was a huge part of it, but with the passing years, it seems that we have still not learned much, we all live on one planet, why can't we get along...
Thank you everybody for your comments on this all time classic... This evening I read a completely disrespectful comment by a person that I can only describe as a rude pig... "Wrong speed asshole etc etc" was completely uncalled for, the rude individual has now been blocked from my channel.... Now to enjoy listening to this all time great once again.... :)
Good on you, mate-in all honesty those people aren't worth bothering with.I remember as a young boy hearing this on NZ radio during the late 60s and nothing diminishes my enjoyment of this 💎 not even idiots like that person keep up the good work much appreciated Auckland New Zealand 2021
Robin Eureka Thanks for your comment, I'm pleased it's brought so many emotions back for you Robin.. I'm 60 too and it's a very emotive song for me too...
Beautiful oldie! Memories of class 4t Shiel Road school teacher was Dave Black. We were a mixed class and always went out together. Usually at Phyls house right by the school gates. Parties dancing teen romance. Hope life has been good to everyone.
They were from Lincoln and I remember them playing at our school dance in 1963 with the Sultans another Lincoln band. I was 13 then. Jesamine is a classic, such a shame it was their only hit.
This absolutely trounced me first time I heard it back in the 60s and became one of my all time favourite records its brilliant and perfectly performed a an absolute ACE group. and the real Mods loved it too. I know I was there as one.

A great song of mine for years, brings back many wonderful memories when life was sugary sweet & free, with not a care in the world! Thank you Terry for sharing its beauty! All ☆☆☆☆'s for you. o/
I am from "The States" and grew up just outside of our capital city of Washington. I remember hearing this briefly on a radio station called WEAM and liking it. But it was not a big hit. I didn't even know the artist's name until I got on the Internet in the 1990s, and I probably didn't hear it again until finding it on UA-cam several years ago. Thanks for posting it and allowing me to relive this memory.
Back then, the singers were genuine, what you hear in live performance is the same as on the vinyl record. There wasn't any software or electronic apps to correct the voices when recording the songs, like what they have today..
I was 13 in 1968, and on the receiving end of unrequited love, and whilst the lady's name wasn't Jesamine, the song was very relevant for the moment I was experiencing. In particular, so lucky to have lived through this and the following wonderful era, the 70's -there was an optimism about, and the best music that's stood the test of time, and has been the soundtrack to my life
As far as I remember, they were a British Band who didn't make it at home. Then they followed the example of another British band " The Rokes",, who didn't make it in England, and went to Italy. There they became really huge and successful, but never made it outside Italy. The Casuals were very successful in Italy, and then ,to their big suprise, with "Jesamine" they suddenly had a Number One Hit in England, and a Mega Hit in Europe. But they remained a " One hit Wonder:
My first love and i had this and many other songs we loved when we were 16 Tried to find her but as Women take Men's surname i have never found my Glasgow lassie Anne Paterson
It's really great to hear some of these old songs to shake your memories just how bad some of the music was back then. Glad I never heard this one before.....GROSS!

What am i supposed to do, with a girl like jesamine,

My life a dream

If you made a compilation of 60's music to beam into space to let the universe get a feel of the decade, this would have to be amongst the tracks.
I've just read the sad news that John Tebb is no longer with us. A beautiful song -- pure 1968.
Instantly transported back to a happier and innocent time of my life
I am from "The States" and grew up just outside of our capital city of Washington. I remember hearing this briefly on a radio station called WEAM and liking it. But it was not a big hit.
