    Oh yeah, PW has a lot of inspirations/callbacks to AC0. There's a line when you fight Frost in PW the second time ("You fired up? Come shoot me down!") which is an exact copy of a line from the final boss in AC0

      It has a lot of parallels to several Ace Combat games, not just AC0. There’s a good number of Parallels from AC5 as well.

    The fight with Crimson also gives me the same vibes as in AC4's Shattered Skies mission when you tag a Yellow

      I could see the fight being match for the Yellows, Pixy, I forgot the guys name in AC6 that you fight when liberating your home land, Belkan Pilots in AC5, and even Hugin & Mufin.
      It all has that intense feel to it.

      I know I'm late as hell but in AC6 you fight Strigon Team (I think thats where they got inspiration from with RETURNs Crimson paint schemes)@@EeveelutionPilot

    I love the way ac0 did the intros with the camera shake and angles and the flybys and sound of the jet engines and chatter

    PW wears its inspiration on its sleeve.

    How about some opposite energy? Final mission of AC4 vs finall mission of PW.
    Mobius one shows like a literal messiah to the tune of orchestral latin music as he destroys a structure meant to save the world from catastrophe, being used to cause one instead.
    VS
    Monarch who gets some absolutely depressing and stressful theme fighting over a literal hellscape. No heroes, no hope, no salvation. Just a suicidal psychopath and a merc who just wants to get paid and leave.
    To me, it feels like one is basically Jesus fighting the antichrist, were the other is a great evil fighting an even greater evil.

      That's quite very true. It's awesome how lines can bring back memories. Ace Combat games are my top number 1.

    Whatever helps project aces not get to cumphy and complacent with their monopoly on the genre. And for the small dev team PW had, it’s a superb game that knows exactly what it is and gladly acknowledges the influence of AC proudly.
    I hope it scared project aces enough to have them actually try new things, take influence from PW (like the AOA limiter option. Honestly how PW does it OR how HAWX did it I think would be better in AC than how the “post stall maneuvers” are done in AC).
    There so much more Project Aces could do with AC since they have the capital, the fan base that PW and the few others. Just don’t have.
    I really hope AC8(?) tries something new. In a good way, not the assault horizon way. For instance; using Targeting pods if you have guided weapons and have a WSO and it puts you into a, in layman’s terms, AC-130 gunship thermal gun camera view (HAWX 2 had this for certain missions for guided weapons. Or being able to toggle radar on/off depending on the mission and having to resort to IRST to locate, track and target aircraft so they don’t detect your radar emissions, etc.. as well as adding much much more planes from say the 1960s-future and larger strike/bomber type aircraft but we ALL want all of that.
    There’s just so many features that could be added, that don’t break the game, or it’s mechanics and pace, that don’t make it harder mechanically speaking, that would really enhance the experience by reflecting real world technology, kit and tactics.
    We’ve seen project aces do it, do it right and do it wrong. Assault horizon again is a good example. Dog fight mode is literally wee-tod-did and came from left field and was totally random and done, I believe, just to capitalize on the first person shooter frenzy (is there a way to disable it? Haha), but we were also able to control large heavy intercontinental bombers…hello…this was something that any day One AC fans have wanted. And for the most part project aces executed it wonderfully, for the most part,

      Quite a read there but I do agree when it comes to trying out new things like Project Wingman did.
      It would be fun and interesting to see Project Aces mess with these type of things.
      For sure the guns work better in Project Wingman then Ace Combat.

      @@EeveelutionPilot yes, it was long. I can go and go when it comes to AC haha. So much potential and such a committed fan base-a great series, what can I say. And there are so few like it. And man I love the gun play in PW. Sound and mechanics. Perfect
