I'm 50yrs old and was there in 77' when star wars debuted. I stood in the rain in CHICAGO not really knowing what to expect??! It truly changed my life!! I tear-up at trailers and smile when I see old friends/ characters. I just love STAR WARS!!!! PERIOD!!!
My dad was in LA and went to see Star Wars opening night because they were good buddies with a theatre owner. I think there was a line, but no real hint of mania that was to come. He and his friends walked out of the showing and found the owner. My dad said to his friend, "You're gonna need a bigger theatre." Sure enough, they went back the next weekend and there was a line around the block.
That was me and my family! NYC. It dropped the day before my 8th birthday!

I love that these guys got so excited. This generation is so lucky you get to see the trailer over and over again anywhere. Ha ha. When I was a kid and saw The Empire Strikes Back trailer on my small azz tv I got excited like this then had to wait hoping it would show again while watching tv. Ha ha.

I think the vast majority of the fandom is like us. It's just a vocal minority who give the fandom a bad name. Those people are never happy, regardless of what you do. 7 was too similar to the originals, 8 was way to different, blah. They need to get over it and just enjoy star wars.

Must have been exciting as hell to be there live. But I'm also glad to have watched the teaser at home where I was able to hear the beefed up version of Leia's Theme for the teaser and feel all the feels.

I remember going to Star Wars episode 4 in 1977 and was amazed at the audience reaction. And to watch this and see the same emotional reaction that I seen back then " bring's warm feelings to my heart".

That’s alright, no one’s every REALLY gone.
I was there at SWCC 2019 in the Wintrust Arena. There wasn't a dry eye during that teaser trailer. I have my gripes about the film now (Jan. 2020), but I still love it. I've seen it 6 times, and watching the teaser trailer again, even now, makes me sob and get the chills. I love Star Wars, even with its faults. It's one big, beautiful mess.
Growing up with Star Wars, it just gives you a crazy nostalgic feeling seeing it still alive today. I’m glad there are still those who appreciate it

The Rise of Skywalker, I think that it's an awesome title.
someone replyed to me, this is my response: First of I'm not American and secondly, *opinion*
I think it's a horrible title. This suppose to be the end of the Skywalker Saga. This would have been a more fitting title for Star Wars 4, not 9. The Last Jedi would have been a more fitting title for this movie.

I think that the title is referring to both the Skywalker family and the Jedi, I think that in this film we will see a new order of knights rising, and instead of them being called *The Jedi* they'll be known as *The Skywalkers* as a homarage to the Skywalker blood line, so Rey might not nesercerely a Skywalker inheritantly, but a Skywalker in Spirt.
But if its not that what tou think and uf you don't like it then it's your opinion and I'm fine with that. :)

Your friend that kept asking why... why? Cuz Palpatine is the definitive villain of the Skywalker bloodline. Nobody else could take the place of Palpatine as the greatest evil the galaxy has ever known. George envisioned him to be the great evil and JJ has followed suit. Emperor Palpatine is singlehandedly THE GREATEST character, THE GREATEST character, THE GREATEST CHARACTER ever! Forget about him being the villain. Sheev Palpatine, Darth Sidious is THE GREATEST CHARACTER ever written. Not Han. Not Luke. Not Vader. The man was face to face with the greatest and strongest Jedi masters of their time and he was still able to fool them into believing he was a simple politician. The man had BOTH sides of the Clone Wars in the palm of his hands and strategically decided the outcome of each battle and controlled which side won at certain key points of the war. He spent years laying down the foundation of what would eventually become the greatest coup known in fictional history and played the long game so well that he has basically become the very definition of patience. He had absolutely nothing to lose in his rise to power while everybody else did. Don’t fight it people. Accept it. The ultimate Star Wars villain is coming back. Not Vader. Not Maul. Not Snoke. Sidious. Kylo Ren could never be in the same level of big bad as Palpatine so it makes sense to bring back the greatest Dark Lord of the Sith and I must add it’s very poetic that the last movie concerning the Skywalker Family will bring back the one who started it all and started the “star wars”. Nobody will ever understand the importance of Darth Sidious because it’s always about Vader, Luke, Obi Wan, Han, and Leia. Now that they give the proper respect to the one who trumps them all, people are asking why? It’s Palpatine’s time to shine again and very deservingly so. I am not ashamed in saying my favorite Star Wars character of all time is Palpatine and I for one am a very happy camper. Time for everyone to realize and accept Palpatine’s greatness and importance in the story of the Skywalker family.
