A beautifully made grinder that has far too many complications. We’re not all engineers my main adjustments is 3 clicks past zero…..geez what’s the point
I'm not an engineer, nor am I skilled in things mechanical, but I love this grinder. I almost see it as much as art as a tool for grinding beans for the best espresso I've tasted. I don't see the OG as having 'complications,' but as needing a complicated description of what is basically a simple adjustment. There is a sense in which I agree with ...1185. The OG CAN be set simply if you want. Ignore the fine adjustment as you suggest, just find 'zero,' then use the 100 micron clicks - prob'ly get you good espresso at '200' or '300' and higher for other brewing. You could also just use 'where' you set your 'zero' for your fine adjustment for whichever 100 point marker you use. But most who'd buy a grinder like this care about 'dialing in' and getting the grind size just right for getting the coffee thru the press in the right time with best flavor.
