Great video, Crow! This covers all categories of crew kills with several variations too. Such a good reference for any player wanting to learn the fine art of the crew kill.
Excellent video! I'll be referencing this as I practice crew killing in my next few runs. Blowing up every ship on hard mode just doesn't get me the scrap I need to win consistently. Now I see crew killing requires quite a bit of finesse to pull off. Thank you!
One of my favorite strategies that could be grouped in with the teleporter ai category, is when a ship has 5 crew, (late game mantis bomber for example) where you let 2 crew board you, and you dispatch them with your crew and cloak so they can’t go back. At the same time, you mc the pilot and when the 2 remaining crew go to fight the pilot, you hack their piloting and sink as many shots as you can into piloting, killing all 5 crew nearly simultaneously with a regular gunship
I've got "charge ion" but I'm having trouble doing a crew kill with it. Any advice? Will it only work if the other ship has 0 dodge? The new version it seems to never quite turn pink.
against 1 shield, you wanna fire 3 shots at once then 1. this pattern should waste 1 shot on shields, and 3 targeting o2. keep an eye on how the o2 system flashes to white or flashes to gray so you can estimate the level of o2 system.
hack weapons, mc weapons, against 3 crew. with less crew, no one in weapons, with more crew, yes someone will try to take over the roll as weapons crew. This will always result in 1 weapon damage. And normally the slowest firing weapons will go down.
Just recalled - it might be possible to pull it off against certain enemies/layouts with 4 crew. like rocks move slowly, and there isn't that much time between the MC'd crew breaking the system (12.5 seconds) and a crew making their way to the door and punching through.
it's a strat i first saw scottonesiewilson. mcing the pilot will draw 1-2 crew into piloting. with a 2 crewed ship, the entire crew are in 1 room, and you can hack piloting to ensure your shots don't miss. Thus making for one of the quickest crew kills in the game.
I got a nice one in an ion storm. Stacked ions with my charge ion and that bought enough time for my anti-bio beam to be powered and fired without seeing enemy crew positions of course. Did something similar a 2-3 months ago when I was doing bio-beam swipes with a hull or pike beam in a nebula jump with the last crew healing in a medbay

I'd honestly not thought about this much before. Thank you.
Welcome. It's far less necessary in easy/normal, but can make all the difference in hard mode.

Welcome and good luck.

i too like cloaking to hold ai crew on my ship. or noting when ai teleporter sets up masala maneuver
Guides like these are awesome!

very good work
The way you say "Anti" sounds another word 💀
So, just to make sure, the Masala maneuver is simply that a mind controlled enemy in a 3 crew ship won't pull any other crew in to fight them?

@@crowrevell2082thanks for the reply! Makes sense
OMG it's a 45 minutes video and it's 3 am....
I don't understand what the "scot special" is.

Do you have a favorite crew kill you’ve ever pulled off?
