THANK YOU! I've been getting these from others in shorts and they often end like "I wonder what that is" WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP! It drives me mad everytime!
Entirely possible he solved it in 2 minutes. Also possible he’ll fail the next one. The thing you either love or can’t stand about this game is that it isn’t testing your smarts or your knowledge, it’s comparing the weird web of neurons in your brain with the one in the editor’s brain
@@ValkyrieTiarathis is more or less the speed at which I play and I’m not nearly as smart as Hank. I live fast d*e young Connections because there’s no streak to save. Wordle I’ll ponder over longer but Connections feels like a knee jerk game to me.

1) please do this every day! Turns out it is BITTER melon but it still got me a perfect score😂
I’m confused because I do connections every day and this is not what I had yesterday? I’m pretty sure I haven’t missed a day in 100 days (my wordle streak)
The gemstone cuts jumped out at me immediately, but the food words for head took me awhile! I'd love more Connections content, I've played every puzzle and love it so much.
My daughter and her coworkers dressed in the connections solutions colors for a company presentation today. Not surprisingly, they work at the New York Times in the Games group. On her last visit she asked me, "Are those Hank Green socks?" Yes they were. Forwarding this video now. 😉
I felt weirdly badass on this one for getting the gems first just because about twenty years ago I read a fantasy book that included a bunch of lapidary stuff, so radiant immediately pinged me as "that's gem cutting!"
As someone who wasnt aware that fennel etc tastes similar to liquorice, and has never heard of any of those cuts, this puzzle drove me insane. First one I couldn't solve :(

Thank you!! Fun stuff. Also, I didn't know Tarragon was one of the Licorice flavoured foods/spices. Thank you for looking up stuff as you went along as well. ^_^
I enjoyed that day too. Not so much today. I often find at least one or too of the connections relies really heavily on US cultural knowledge, which makes it really tricky for me.
Agreed! I enjoy the game a lot, but it's *very* US-centric a lot of times, and I'm Swedish, so I feel like I'm at a constant disadvantage. My perception of this could all be completely wrong, of course, but when I read your comment I felt slightly vindicated since you seem to think the same thing I do about it.
i would never play this game if it weren't for hank reminding me how interesting it looks (and that it's actually winnable). i'm not particularly good at it, but neither is anybody when they first start at something. here i go, to practice some more before bed.:D
Good job, Hank. I got a Perfect yesterday too, kind of lucked into it, the licorice flavor stuff and the Halloween stuff was easy, then I got lucky with the others. Fun game!
I thought "nut" would be part of that group because of Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella . But I guess that movie might not be well known outside of Europe?
Can I have some more, sir? I play this myself and watching someone else, who I believe to be a jack of all trades, humbly like myself, work through the logic of matching is very entertaining and educational. Learn something new every day!

Hey I did that one the other day! So I saw you do these in some shorts a week ago or so and I wasn't aware of them (I'm German) even though I used to do English Wordles every day, so I also started doing Connections and I love them. I will admit though, as a non-native speaker, at least one row usually (fortunately there's one left at the end, hah) comes absolutely out of nowhere for me. For this one it was the gem cuts I had zero clue about.
I’ve moved to my 2,2 rule for connections to bring some risk back. You start with the 2nd row, 2nd column and you have to solve that clue without trying to solve or eliminate the other groupings. When you solve the first, a new 2,2 is available, and again after the second solve for the 3rd 2,2. If you’re only getting perfects in Connections, give it a try.
For no reason at all, I’m enjoying a chuckle at the idea of the title being “Not me playing connections for two minutes.” So off-brand for Hank, and really tickles my funny bone!
I feel like this is a game that helps you consider grouping things in...sometimes non-intuitive ways. First you get the obvious groupings out of the way but afterwards the game really forces you to consider a word from every angle.
i like videos that i see them and i'm like "Why??" but not in a judgemental way or a concerned way or a weirded-out way but just as a neutral expression of unexpectedness,

Yeah, fuck Games with Hank!
I got annihilated by bean, nut, melon, baguette being types of bread 😿
I thought bean was paired with emerald princess and radiant as a group of fairy tail tropes, the bean being a reference to Jacob's ladder.
Do you mean Jack and the bean stalk? Jacob's ladder doesn't have anything to do with beans
I assume you mean Jack's Beanstalk because Jacob's Ladder is a story from the Hebrew Bible. 😆
I got stuck on fairytales too, both Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella felt like themes in here! Very hard to get past hahaha
I thought this too but my mind went to princess and the pea
