Awesome layout, ,very nice video
This is one if not the most under-published and under- appreciated layouts ever. Jim's modeling is just wonderful, and design and execution of the layout is by far the best I have ever seen, Hey Jim.....wanna' trade??? Al's videoing and commentaries are also just great. I appreciate the fact that Jim had help as i have also, but in the words of our deceased friend....John Glaab, " A model railroader is tantamount to an orchestra leader....he does have to know how to play all of the instruments, but he must know how to put them together into a symphony." Jim's symphony is the very best and then some. Al, give me a break and do more coverage on this really great model railroad.......and it is close by!!!
That was a beautiful so cool Norfolk and western 2-8-8-2 steam trains a hauling freight trains steam trains no.2175 locomotive ho scale ❤😊😊😊😊❤

Wow, thanks!
Growing up my bed was 150 feet from the highest point on the Reading railroad. Mally's like that one were common at one time. Thanks for another great video.
That was one the best scenic railway's I've seen. There must be over a thousand trees on that layout.
Some of the finest scratch built houses I’ve ever seen…..not to mention, of course the amazing amazing industrial scratch built industrial complexes. Beautiful
That is a BEAUTIFUL layout
Thank you, Al, for taking us along on this tour of this beautiful layout.
You said, "This is America!" Sadly, It WAS America.
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful layout!
The layout is stupendous, thank you for the visit. Unfortunately, Jim’s voice in the background is difficult to hear. A second microphone might be a valuable investment.
I saw this layout some fifteen years ago. Quite a treat, especially the rayon plant at night! But really, EVERYTHING is superb. If there were any "good enough" shortcuts taken, I couldn't find them.
Jim, you took me back home! Born at Roanoke in '43, yep, I'm that old, raised in tiny Radford, 65 mi. S. of my birth city. Was I blessed or what? So born a N&W train nut, still am. Dad would take me down to the little train station in Radford on Sat. mornings, set me up on one of the REA baggage carts and we would watch the trains. Not many, but saw 'em all. The occasional Y6s were terrifying as they rumbled through, but I had to be there. The Js were magnificent, my favorite. Jim, your layout is the best I've seen of any railroad depicted on UA-cam. Your accuracy is flawless, I'm an expert, I was born and raised there!

Beautiful layout, Are you planning on adding working Signals?
Very nice, very nice. Had to chuckle at the ball field. We had a hard enough time keeping our kids focused on the game without a train going by.🤣
Not everyone has a full scale softball field
Thanks for taking Debbie & I along to see this great lookijg layout

Woul you be intwrested in letting people operate on your layout remotely?
