  • Hiiii fellow baristas & coffee lovers ☕️ Welcome (back) :)
A highly requested video! Setting boundaries at Starbucks (or really any coffee shop / workplace, really). It's something a lot of us - especially those of us whom are people pleasers - struggle with, and completely understandable. Setting our boundaries can feel intimidating, daunting even, especially if you're a new barista, or have been the "yes" person for awhile. As a reformed and healed people pleaser, I'm a living example that you can change and create your boundaries at ANY TIME ... if yesterday you said 'yes,' today you can say 'no.' We have free will luvbug!
By the end of this video you'll know how important establishing boundaries is, why we want to, how we'll do it, and how we will stand FIRM in our boundaries if/when someone pushes back on them. You'll be a boundary setting expert after this. I got you. ❤️

This is so true. I wished that I didn’t work so much. There were so many family events I missed out on because of work. It was always hard to say “No” when work was shorthanded.
You can’t get those moments back after your loved ones have died. I wish I could. 😢
(Remember the business will continue to run, regardless.)

I remember one I was on my way to a mall trip with my best friend who happened to be my manager in the same dept ( it was actually hidden we were friends so to minimize favoritism work was work but outside was our time.) I get a call from the assistant manager asking me to come to work. I gently said no I was already out in my outing and they tried blackmailing me that they would report me to the manager for not coming in. My manager snorted in the background. “Sure they will.”
