I’m a flashlight dork, so I like this purchase. Like the light and dig the blade, I’m still on the fence about which auto I should go with, so many choices…
Ya I keep saying I’m over otf’s but I have 4. They are fun. They carry nice and easy to use so I’m full of shit haha. The light is nice I used it yesterday inside a bin. But I have another pocket in this pair of pants to carry it in.
LOL “i’m still gonna make stupid, irrational knife purchases” 👏🏼👏🏼 My exact thoughts when i hit “buy now” on the new Shirogorov 111 Special Edition from Recon 1 today.
I didn’t even know Medford made otf’s. This is probably why I didn’t know. I just opened a custom heretic manticore x with a black satin dlc blade, carbon fiber button and hefted aluminum handles. It’s the nicest otf I’ve ever held/seen in person. I also got the heretic Hyperion and it was cheaper than getting that kit, not by much though. The heretic Hyperion is wicked nice, but it’s also a luxury flashlight. An olight may be a better buy for the money. I still love the Hyperion though and have no complaints. It gets the job done very well, with excellent style and quality. Heretic’s stuff is top notch and usually a better deal for the money
Ya the Medford was good till it wasn’t. And I think most of us just like to spend money on nice things and that’s totally fine. I use to be one of those guys that thought anything over 200 was crazy
@@ScotchNThingswhat I find acceptable keeps climbing lol that heretic manticore I was just talking about has me looking at more expensive knives in a whole different light. Photos don’t do the blade justice. The way the blade shines, the color of the shine and how flawless it is, I’m in love with. That blade is on a level I’d never experienced before. I did start with a benchmade 940
Youre a Maniac.. Very interesting vid tho.. The #1 reason I do not like OTF Knives is blade play.. I cannot tolerate it! so to drop big money on a wiggly knife doesnt make sense to ME.. Does it really have NO Wiggle?
That’s funny you noticed how many are still available. I think more have sold than you gave credit for but they definitely didn’t sell out like microtech was saying. I really want that kit but it’s insanely expensive for what it is. Did you think it was worth it? They’re basically valuing that otf at close to 1200 dollars. I’m sure the kit and coin extras are added so the value for the actual otf is probably close 1000 msrp with a lot of mark up for it being a limited edition with tritium in the button. Is it worth double a combat troodon? The new signature series microtech ultratech that recently hit the shelves with carbon fiber handles is 450 even.
Am I glad I got it yes. Do I think it’s overpriced yes. I’m actually really liking the knife. I really wonder what the prices will be once they start selling the zero blade play in other models
@@ScotchNThingsright. I mean the price isn’t bad compared to the deadlock and spending 1800-3000. I’d really love to feel one to know. I’m really tempted to get one. I only recently realized the luminary is one of the fews knives with zero blade play. I could have sworn I heard microtech say all their new gen knives have it, but that’s not true. They have new features, but that’s not one of them on most
@@kyleisamazing69 ya I know they said they want to bring it to all their knives. Some blade play in an otf isn’t the end of the world but man it’s solid
@@ScotchNThingsoh I totally agree. Thats why I haven’t bought the microtech surefire kit yet and I did buy the nice combo I recently bought instead. I’m very very satisfied with my heretic manticore x, that would be the knife I recommended to people looking for something high end. It’s absolutely phenomenal, I am bias towards heretic products though. I’ve never seen a blade like it and I do have a fairly nice knife collection myself, that stepped it up from my others a lot though. Granted I am still considering buying the kit too lol
I think the term edc with flashlights is just the flashlight companies marketing tactic to put it in your pocket. Now that I have my heretic Hyperion, I may start “edcing” it lol
It’s actually a pretty cool set. Would I have liked them to sell them individually or maybe with out the case to bring cost down. Sure. But the knife is sweet and I did use the light at work yesterday
If we didn't like mumbling idiots we wouldn't watch your channel. 😂 I got nothing but love bro. Coming from a mumbling idiots. For real though, I started watching your channel because you just talk about whatever. There are plentiful of "normal" knife channels. 🤷🏽♂️🤘🏽
Surefire stiletto with one emitter or head would be smaller/lighter at half the price. but not as bright. One u got is pretty big for edc. But it’s numbered and u get a coin!😂

Haha that’s how it goes though. You know when you are buying it you don’t need it or you’re going to get yelled at for buying it.
@@barnacanbull man I’ve wanted a 111 for awhile but I’m trying to be good. I e got 3 customs that are coming due in the next month or so
