Swindon Food Caddy And Blue Sack Delivery Van

Hi, this video is of Swindon Borough Council delivering food caddies and reusable sacks. I think this is a 22-plate Ford Transit. I'm not good with my van knowledge. Splendid. As someone who had just taken delivery of a new container for a new waste stream, it's such a pleasant sight to see this. It's not something that happens everyday (or week), that's for sure. I'll say for the outdoor food caddy, they are right on the money with the size; that appears to fit the 2 2-gallon (~3L) bags worth of food waste my 5-person household makes fine. Sacks suck imo, but you would think they'd make you use the sacks for paper, since that's the lightest of the waste, and not the (potentially) heaviest of them? Then again, many things in life don't make sense, and in many cases, you have to accept that. Hope you enjoy your new caddies, cheers.

Thanks, plastic and cans is quite light. They considered adding a bag for paper but that's just more work. Safe to say no one likes the new recycling trucks or rear loader lifters.

Tbh they are only a tad bigger than a straight caddy and should last much longer

@@BinandChill My council used to provide us with a weekly food waste collection, then they scrapped the service because not to many household were using it as many of them used the brown bin for food and garden waste instead.
