One of my favourite songs, I remember lying under summer night skies in my teens when it first came out digging the stars and listening to this for about 10 plays, so this is most welcome. "Thank-You"
I was in a band in college, and we used to do this song (30 years ago). We would let the jam go on endlessly. At one show, after we finished it, someone in the crowd shouted, "Play a song that isn't 20 minutes long!"
This song melts me down. I used to listen to it while i slept my brake behind the industrial ovens, in between 11 hour shifts. The floor was hard and cold but the paranoid album kept me warm inside and helped to drown out the sound of the freezers.
One night this guy must have broke up with his GF and he sat in his tiny car, this giant guy, crying and listening to 'Changes' whining for MORE than 5 hours. I went to bed and woke up in the morning and he was still out there feeling sorry for himself cranking that song-MANUALLY!!!! This is great and the only Jazz guitar I think I ever heard Iommi play. Beautiful song and nice and trippy...

I accidentally OD’d on my stimulant meds the other day, and as I was lying on the couch sweating and nauseous and with my mind going a mile a minute, this is what calmed me down. Just the most chill piece of music I know of, looping over and over, gently washing away all those racing thoughts and letting me get back to mental equilibrium. So, thanks for that.
Thanks for mentioning "Mountains of Mars". I gave it a shot and it's a great song. I love it when heavy bands branch out and play relaxed, psychedelic, laid back songs like this.
I first listened to that song with my best friend, he came to my place and it was summer, hot summer. We rolled sum j's and went into the forrest right in front of my door... we sat on a bench. And from that bench you can look over the whole village. We got high together to that song... it was just a perfect time. Love you ma brother 🖤

Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears
Light of the night
The Earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze
In orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks down the night
And so we pass on by the crimson eye
Of great god Mars
As we travel through the universe
