Ris I honestly think you should give the Dead Rising games another try. They are actually very funny and you definitely are NOT supposed to take it seriously. And killing all those zombies with all those weapons and items is actually kind of cathartic and relaxing
Thing is, Ris isn't too big on violence, so he's said that's why he doesn't play games like Mortal Combat, even though he admits that they're probably good.Excessive violence can be a turn-off for some people, unlike us who're either too numb or sadistic to care as long as we're having fun. :D
I can understand why you dont like Dead Rising as a series (At least that's what I understood correct if wrong). The games are more about whackiness and what the developers can think of what he can do. I personally love the craziness of the series, but its not for everyone. Good luck with moving out also! :D
Having played dead rising 1, 2, and 4, even getting the platinum trophy in 1. I definitely have mixed feelings about 4. I liked the time limit aspect of the first 2 games, and while the combo weapons in 4 were crazy cool, I actually preferred the way crafting was in 2. Also like others have said already, I do much prefer frank in 1 and off the record (a spin off what if version of 2).
Going to be honest, I understand why you have a lot against the combo weapons and arcade machines and all that jazz. It's why Dead Rising 1 is considered the best in the franchise by a lot of people since it didn't consist of you being ridiculously OP and flushing out hordes of zombies in seconds, just you trying to grab whatever you can find. When I played Dead Rising 2 I hardly even used the Combo Weapons since it really wasn't something I was too interested in. It just kind of took away the challenge and real fun of the game.
So I'm one of those guys who like Frank, at least in his original itteration before he just became a psychopath. But yeah, if you think about it, his skill with creating combo weapons is basically magic... but he wasn't the first to make them in the series, that honour goes to Chuck Greene (original Dead Rising 2.)
I like him like that too. He only became a psycho in 4 where he didn't give a crap about anyone and just wanted to kill zombies and be famous. In 1, while he was concerned with getting the big scoop, he clearly cared about other people and wanted to help, in 2 in Case West he is still trying to figure out what is causing zombie out breaks and is sad to find out the girl he was working with died and in the spin off Off the Record, while he cracked jokes at the bosses being violently murdered, still seemed sane and like a normal human being, albeit with a much more morbid and dark sense of humor. Dead Rising 4 really messed up a lot of things.
Kekkersboy I think that Fate has this. He wields the power of Nabu who's power I cannot overstate. And since Nabu has knowledge of magic FROM ALL UNIVERSES (Yes this means outside of the DCU) he's know what he's dealing with. Plus Strange is adept at magic and can defend himself, but has no actual immunities, while Fate does.
Oh trust me I know all about Fate and Nabu. But Strange like I said is used to being the underdog and fighting above his weight class against other cosmic forces such as the Inbetweener.
Yes I know. But Fate is not as used to being the underdog in situations. Fate can usually overpower most other sorcerers or cosmic forces. The Spectre is pretty much his biggest rival in DC. They've had many fights. Hell The Specter has been Doctor Fate. Now that would have been something to use for Deathbattle. I basically call this Magic Superman vs Magic Batman. Strange only can win if he can formulate a plan to stop Fate before Fate squashes him.
resident evil makes the walking dead look like child's play. come to think of it, i wonder how long can rick's group survive in the world of resident evil....
Well in resident evil you wipe your ass with bullets at the end if you are good at the game at least in 4, 5 and 6 and in the walking dead i haven't seen it but i understand that there is almost no ammo
Joe Crazy they're not taking down the super tyrants. Those creatures as shown In Raccoon City and the other games can cut through steel and concrete with their claws, and throw train carriages, buses, and rip through cargo planes that are made of some type of High grade military titanium.
In this video I mentioned an update video you guys should watch, and in that video I talked about how I'm doing a summer internship and won't be able to record new videos in the meantime.
As always, great reaction dude, also Frank isn't that bad, lol. Also Dr. Strange's opponent is Dr. Fate from DC Comics. He was in Injustice 2 and a lot of places
You should play Project X Zone. Both Leon and Frank are in it and Frank hangs out with Hsen-Ko from Darkstalkers, another master of unusual weapons (she seems to be able to pull ANYTHING out of her sleeves). Also despite them having an almost father-daughter relationship, she's several thousand years older what with being a vampire.
By the way, Ris, many of the things mentioned about Frank here are either 1: from Off The Record, which is non-canon, and 2: from Dead Rising 4, which many (if not most) fans REFUSE to consider canon.
by the way i don't know but i think the arcade suits thing isn't even canon is like an extra for an new game plus and if they were getting those things leon has an infinite rocket launcher and an infinite not need to reload overpowered machine gun that kills almost anything with 10 shots or so but as you said they had to GIVE frank stuff for him to have at least a CHANCE
I think I want to offer a rebuttal on the "opportunist" thing. Had Frank won with that skillset, the point wouldn't be that these specific circumstances allowed him to get what he needs; rather, it's that this is what he can do with generic, mundane items, things that he could find and scavenge anywhere he went, and unless they're in the middle of nowhere he could probably pull off something of comparable power (but the majority of the time he's not going to be fighting in the middle of nowhere, because there's no reason he'd be there in the first place). This particular setting does happen to maximize his effectiveness, because in a mall he could find just about anything he needed access to, but he could get a car battery, for example, in any city environment.
I don't doubt the result too much, but feel some things were off. 1) Frank was shown easily moving the 2 Ton car with a swing, while Leon had help, and didn't throw it far, as he just pushed, so I feel Frank's feat should be a bit better than stated, but is likely still weaker. 2) The energy blast Frank shot at Leon had ripped through several other zombies, but exploded when Leon put another in the way, which I feel should have ripped that one aswell, instead of exploding. 3) Leon had creativity, but I'm unsure about keeping up with the type Frank had, as anyone would be suprised by a dude turning to megaman from an arcade machine, or making a large mech within 5 seconds. 4) They mentioned in a small info card that Frank had been cured of his Zombie problem, but to me, that would really not change anything, because he would still be easily killed to a bullet to the brain, or the rpg shot that happened, unless I don't know about some special immortality or healing factor, or anything he could get to help out if he did turn to a zombie.
The thing about the Dead Rising series is that it's not meant to be taken too seriously, and is all about killing masses of zombies in many, MANY creative, awesome and hilarious ways. Logic doesn't really hold much meaning in it. Despite this, the Exo-Suit is definitely NOT made out of Slurpee machines, it's a legitimate piece of military tech in Dead Rising 4. The Slurpee machines were just the means to give it the ice powers, and it's not the only thing you can augment the suit with (like electricity, compressed air and military-grade weapons). And the arcade machine thing was from an alternate mode, so I don't really consider that to be "canon" in a sense. However, you could unlock the Real Mega Buster as a weapon in the original
Just so you know, they did either exaggerate or were flat out wrong with a few of their statements about Dead Rising, specifically the points you said you didn't like after the analyses. Namely, Frank never builds the Exosuits in the game. Instead, he finds them lying around at military caches, and takes them and fuses them with things like slushie makers to add elemental effects to them. Second, Frank has absolutely no training with fire arms. To say that he is in any real sense "proficient" with them is not really true, as the only real foes he fights with them are brainless zombies. I suppose you could say that he was skilled enough to fight SWAT members and psychopaths with them, but that's only based on player choice (i.e. the player chooses to use them versus any other in-game weapon), and besides most people could also use a gun to fight off someone as close to their target as he is when using it in game. Finally, the whole costumes and using the powers of other Capcom characters is only via DLC for Dead Rising 4, which makes it immediately non-canon. The only "power" or ability he gains from any other Capcom character within canon is in an unlockable Mega Buster in the first game, and by the same logic of allowing that, you should also be able to give Leon his ray gun that you unlock for beating Resident Evil 4 on NG +. As such, hopefully some of the things you said that made you turned off from Dead Rising that you got from this video have been cleared up, and hopefully, if you want, you can give the series another chance without having it be as ridiculous as they made it out to be.
They exaggerated because they had to. Leon vastly outperforms Frank. Quite honestly, this battle shouldn’t ever have happened since they had to lie so much to sell it.
I think you may like the first Dead Rising game, because it is the most realistic with the only real super weapons being stuff you need to unlock by grinding. You couldn't make weapons in the first one.
martin manhunter XD. reminds me of that scene in justice league abridged super man: "i'm going to name you marvin the martian." martian manhunter: "my name is j'onn jon'zz" super man : "your name is marvin."
Oh man, I know how you feel, Leon is my favorite Resident Evil character, I knew Leon would win because I grew up with Dead Rising, and Resident Evil, and I can tell you this: Resident Evil is greater than Dead Rising's.
It was good! I enjoyed it. I figure I know what's going to happen next, and most of the sad stuff didn't really affect me for a number of reasons (though I honestly think that was partly intentional on their part). All of them, I think. I can't think of any that I've missed up to this point.
I liked Dead rising 2 but then Chuck Greene was a more likable character (in that one anyway), being a father protecting his daughter rather than a gloryhound.
What is your obsession with characters needing to have limits. Just because the characters extremely powerful doesn’t mean that they can’t have interesting or compelling stories.
Ris Grestar that’s very true. To be honest I was mainly recalling how your opinions on Mega Man changed after Zero vs. Metal Sonic. That really frustrated me.
I mean, you’re entitled to your own opinions, but all of the suddenly not liking something anymore because you realize the characters are more powerful than you thought. That just seams silly.
To each their own! I still don't know much about Mega Man or Sonic (like, you know, the big-time lore you explore in the comics and the like), so I have preconceived notions of everything. I become comfortable with that sort of thing, and may even--as was the case with Mega Man--come to appreciate certain aspects. Learning that they were insanely faster and more powerful, etc., than I had thought made the whole epic struggle a lot less relatable to me. In making it so big (so to speak), it became a lot less epic in my mind. But, as I said, to each their own! If you or other people love those franchises for those reasons, that's awesome. It's just not usually my cup of tea.
Ris Grestar that’s what I like about you. Even when someone like me comes along and makes a big stink, you calmly resolve the situation. You’re just a nice guy b
This is the problem with Dead Rising. Nobody pays attention to the first game. Frank had nothing to do with the 2nd game or the mech suit. That has nothing to do with a man that can take care of himself in DR1. He never had that shit. By the time of DR4 yes he had a load of training. I hate people like you that don't like that series because you don't understand the continuity.
ahed jehad Oh yeah? Anyone else? I know Harley Quinn came SUPER close to it but she didn't continue the line of thought (one of her henchmen asked why she liked Bruce Wayne so much and she said she couldn't describe it but he has a presence, and the only two other people she knew like that were Joker and Batman).
i only know of Dr.Fate and Bane who figured out Batman's identity, and while the Joker may have found out, he doesn't particularly care that much. he just sees him as Batman.
Honestly wasn't fond of this Death Battle for a number of reasons. They have Frank acting like the out of character asshole he was in the 4th game, give him non canon feats like catching up to the train which happens in Off the Record which is just a non canon spin off of 2 and give him things he shouldn't have as usual weapons. The power armor things were from a PMC group that was responsible for the Outbreak in 4, Frank only had access to them due to the PMC being around and wouldn't have them any other time because there is only one place to get it, that arcade machine is also just silly dlc for 4 and not canon to the story. That's like saying the Dragon Born can wield the Master Sword because you get a Master Sword in the Switch version of Skyrim, non canon dlc shit. It didn't affect the results of the fight but its clear they were just boosting Frank up as much as possible because they pitted him against someone far superior to him. Leon as well as Frank should have fought other characters, I thought Stryker and Johnny Cage for Leon and Frank respectively would be interesting but even if not at least I thought more about those fights than this where they only pitted them together due to them being Capcom zombie killers.
Also, one more thing I want to mention. The whole "He didn't sleep or rest the entire time", uh...every time you save the game he either takes a piss or sleeps on a bench or something, even still I don't believe the series ever says if he saved all the survivors, the only thing we do know is he took part in every major case in the game which is spread apart by a number of hours giving him plenty of time to rest and near the end he even passes out due to being infected which would likely count as rest. They didn't do good research on Frank at all which really bugged me. Also, he doesn't build the mech suits, they are just around the city in the 4th game because the PMC's are using them. Admittedly he does somehow attach things to them to add additional power but he doesn't make a mech suit...though he can make a lightsaber so its still silly..
Also also also (since I keep typing that word), Frank isn't a feaking looter, in his spin off game he clearly dislikes them. He only takes shit to defend himself or to help people, he'd be in that zombie infested town to figure out why its infected, not to raid stores. Also his catchphrase was said once in the first game where he said, after being asked if he could use guns "KInda...I've covered wars ya know" and its a favorite moment for fans but I don't remember him constantly saying it. He was honestly normal and somewhat realistic until 4, that game and this Death Battle really ruin him.
In regards to his kill count, they meant he just killed zombies and psychopaths, in self defense. He never killed innocent people, he merely killed hundreds of zombies as in all the hundreds of zombies that show up the game. Only DR4 Frank seemed excited to kill zombies regardless of the fact that they used to be people, Frank in the other games was disgusted about taking part in mindless slaughter and saddened when he saw people he cared about being zombies, again out of character for this Death Battle and that crap 4th game.
I am glad you mentioned the thing about him not having access to certain weapons all the time since that was a problem I had with it too. In all honesty I'd give him the bat, the pistol and some weapons he showcases in his fighting game move sets with the "real mega buster" he gets in the first one and Tatsunoko vs Capcom being iffy, other then that, he wouldn't always have a mech suit or the ability to craft every combo weapon you can in the game so applying all the crap is cheating.
The only part that annoyed me about you rooting against Frank, who I like, is that your dislike of him was due to how Death Battle talked about him, making him seem like an iredeemable idiot who could just pull stuff out of his butt and only cared about fame, that only ever became his character in 4. He was actually a pretty decent guy in the first game as well as the 2nd games DLC where he was a bit more angry and impatient but still roughly the same. Honestly this was really Leon vs DR 4 Frank and I am with you that this version needs to die.
Dead Rising is pretty silly and stupid, so yeah you're not supposed to take it seriously. Not a huge fan of the series either. The timer alone already makes it one of the worst games I've ever played. It's like they made a sandbox game except forced you to hurry through it and master it, which is so dumb.
He isn't, its only in four where he turns into this crazy asshole capable of making silly and illogical things from nothing. In the original he couldn't make any combo weapons and had to rely on any object to defend himself and many of times he was put in danger, even getting infected and having to take a drug to hold back the infection so he didn't become a zombie. He was actually a decent, somewhat realistic character until the 4th game where they made him into some Deadpool asshole who somehow now knows how to make Combo Weapons, a skill only DR2 and 3's main characters had because they had mechanical skills, Frank is a journalist with some wrestling skills.
If Ris isn't a fan of excessive violence, how the hell is he a fan of Death Battle?
Trent Matthews Nice Patrick Star profile picture.
I haven't played a single Dead Rising game, but from what I've seen, I don't think you're supposed to take it seriously.
Sonic Gamer you aren’t. It was a silly game series. Especially when you add in the side games, which added weirder things.
still fun as hell to play
Sonic Gamer Not to mention this matchup would he more fair if it was Ash Williams Vs Frank West.
FinalHunter
It’s not more serious exactly, it just had great characters and a great story that made you care about the wacky world they live in
Dr. Fate is from the DC comics.
I can understand why you dont like Dead Rising as a series (At least that's what I understood correct if wrong). The games are more about whackiness and what the developers can think of what he can do. I personally love the craziness of the series, but its not for everyone. Good luck with moving out also! :D

😂😂😂
Oh Ris...... i expected more from you....

Fate vs Strange is gonna be one of their closest matchups. Doctor Fate has the edge in raw power, but Strange is used to being the underdog.
Their spell lists are very similar, right? I guess that spell effects might not be the main deciding factor, much like with Raven vs. Twilight.
Kekkersboy I think that Fate has this. He wields the power of Nabu who's power I cannot overstate. Well in resident evil you wipe your ass with bullets at the end if you are good at the game at least in 4, 5 and 6 and in the walking dead i haven't seen it but i understand that there is almost no ammo
I think it depends on how many of those bioweapons are running around at a time.
yeah =P
Joe Crazy they're not taking down the super tyrants. Those creatures as shown In Raccoon City and the other games can cut through steel and concrete with their claws, and throw train carriages, buses, and rip through cargo planes that are made of some type of High grade military titanium.
Gotta say, this was a well choreographed fight for 2d animation.
Something is weird about seeing Ris disliking something... It's not as common as him just being loveably ignorant
+Nemesis Bloodryche Don't worry, deep down I'm always ignorant
yaaay!
he didn't build a mech suit it was laying in a case just waiting for someone to put it on
Has Ris mentioned anywhere why this is the last Death Battle he made a reaction for? Are others likely in the future?
In this video I mentioned an update video you guys should watch, and in that video I talked about how I'm doing a summer internship and won't be able to record new videos in the meantime.
Ohp, never mind, I mentioned the update video in Sora VS Pit, not this one. All the same, though, there we go.
thx for the update, I appreciate it. have fun, and make great impressions
As always, great reaction dude, also Frank isn't that bad, lol. Also Dr. Strange's opponent is Dr. Fate from DC Comics. He was in Injustice 2 and a lot of places
ZDogg S AFAIK Ris doesn’t play too many fighting games.
BJGvideos I remember Hsien-ko
"This is where the magic happens"
We need more battles of characters in franchises not featured in death battle like Alita from GUNNM/Battle Angel Alita vs Casshern.
What, did Frank West put the dislike on this video?
By the way, Ris, many of the things mentioned about Frank here are either 1: from Off The Record, which is non-canon, and 2: from Dead Rising 4, which many (if not most) fans REFUSE to consider canon.

I love when you do these, too bad death battle can't put out more fights. But it takes a lot of time and money I would have to imagine.
Can you play Spongebob Squarepants: Employee of the month on your computer?
So this is what Ris looks like when he's eager to watch someone die.
+Brown Cow Now you know...
I think I want to offer a rebuttal on the "opportunist" thing. I found out the new Death Battle video just came out like, three weeks ago after Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai!
ua-cam.com/video/ap2GYLOzY0I/v-deo.html

What happend to your Death Battle reations?
I was doing a summer internship. I'll start reacting again this weekend.
great vid!!!!!!!

I do have to admit though, that resident evil 4 may be my favorite game of all time and the only resident evil game I'd ever fully play through.
Hey Ris you are about 3 Death Battles behind. Do you have any idea on when you'll be able to catch up?
My internship is ending in about two weeks, so hopefully around then.
Dr. Strange vs Dr. Fate is the death battle I've always asked for in the comments. That and Martin Manhunter vs Vision
martin manhunter XD. reminds me of that scene in justice league abridged super man: "i'm going to name you marvin the martian." martian manhunter: "my name is j'onn jon'zz" super man : "your name is marvin."
AWESOME AS ALLWAYS

Ris Grestar, how long will it be until you make it to your new house?
+Cody Lane Sometime mid-/late-August.
ok,
Can you react to Dr.Strange vs Dr.Fate Ryu vs Jin abd Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai
Rockking9717 The King Of UA-cam Rock n Roll He’s unavailable to do so. Pay attention to his other videos
Be sure to leave a small message on camera that I showed you this, too!
Even with the unrealisticness of Dead rising Chuck's sadly didn't have the super powers with the machines
How long have you been doing this?
they use kim sprite from king of fighter as leon
Speaking of Dr Strange, have you watched infinty war?
+Titan Gamer 17 I have indeed^^
Ris Grestar
What did you think of it?
How did you feel about it?
What other MCU films have you watched?
It was good!
I enjoyed it. I figure I know what's going to happen next, and most of the sad stuff didn't really affect me for a number of reasons (though I honestly think that was partly intentional on their part).
All of them, I think. I can't think of any that I've missed up to this point.
Ris Grestar
What about Deadpool 2?
We've analysed Chuck Norris and Segata Sanshiro and FRANK WEST is where you draw the line
I liked Dead rising 2 but then Chuck Greene was a more likable character (in that one anyway), being a father protecting his daughter rather than a gloryhound.
22:10 "And I've ENDED them."
frank has a lot of silly stuff but I haft to ad he added stuff to a meck suit he dident build it
(3:23) dead rising 3
It's fun being happy.
“LUUUUDAAA” you’re a legend.
it's kinda too bad you don't know Doctor Fate (DC Comics)
No offense but you forgot to say Cue outro go.
Didn't forget^^
Ris Grestar sorry I guess.
What is your obsession with characters needing to have limits. Just because the characters extremely powerful doesn’t mean that they can’t have interesting or compelling stories.
+Jennifer Griel Definitely a lot harder, though.
It’s cool, I personally love Dead Rising, but it’s completely understandable if you don’t like Frank.
This is the problem with Dead Rising. Nobody pays attention to the first game. Frank had nothing to do with the 2nd game or the mech suit. That has nothing to do with a man that can take care of himself in DR1. He never had that shit. By the time of DR4 yes he had a load of training. I hate people like you that don't like that series because you don't understand the continuity.
fun fact, Ris: Dr.Fate was the 2nd person, other than Bane, who figured out Batman's true identity.
ahed jehad Oh yeah?
You are missing a few death battles.
Gavin Bunting You’re missing an update video
What do you mean?
Gavin Bunting I mean he did an update video explaining why he hasn’t done reactions to those DBs yet
Oh, didn’t see that.
I think Dead rising Chuck from Dead rising 2 would have been better.
Did you notice that frank could have turned into leon.If frank turned into dante frank would win.
This guy really hates Frank
Please react to the Devil May Cry 5. I want to see what you think of it.
Never say "Luda" again...please I implore you.
Lol u lookd worried lol...dead rising games are fun af not ment to take seriously tho its a fun survival game
Am i the only one that was disappointed about the Sora vs. Pit battle? Not abou the outcome. Just the matchup.
「AROUND THE WORLD」 they’ve said in the cast video it was a fan video.
Mitch Correct. Still doesn't do much to lessen the disappointment.
Frank is a Gary Stew
Omg dr fate vs dr strange is tomorrow #hype
Leon.
Leon won
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
25th comment :P
And um... yea Frank is a terrible character and the dead rising games suck
Twenty20 Games yeah no
@@RoyalT115 gameplay wise, I didn't mind. Everything else just bothered me haha
