I just read a couple articles on LED flicker on camera...and now it's clear as mud! Shutter speed, FPS, blah-blah-blah. Doesn't keep me from watching! Also I'm a no primer guy unless its buried. Coat both pieces and let it sit a minute and I get a good solvent weld. If I do think I should prime, and it's visible, I use a brush or rag and keep it below what shows. Great work, keep'em com'n.
As someone who has unfortunately had the displeasurable experience of drilling straight through their finger when drilling holes in PVC pipe, my anxiety was through the roof when you were popping those holes in the awning tube! Stay safe brother!
Red hot blue glue needs no primer, used it for years no call backs .this is giving me ideas on my trailer, I'm waiting for winter, not so lucky with the tree canopy for shade. Be well 👋
Working great! :) I see a couple metal rods attached to the bottom outside corners of the back of the trailer with pivot hinges to allow for weather. Two or more old aluminum tent poles could be attached to the bottom corners and the ends stuck in the tarp tips. You could use a short length of cordage in the middle with slip knots to add structural support as pullies to the middle of the bend in the metal poles. Just a thought from looking at it. :)
About the LEDs...try running them directly off the 12 volt batteries, not from a driver. You're likely getting some sine wave through the driver that is causing the flicker. Straight DC voltage will not have sine wave. It's more efficient that way as well, you get a loss through the inverters and drivers.
I have used no primer with no problems. Lowe's sells Oatey brand clear primer for about $9 for a. 8 oz bottle. You do need to change your anti-flicker settings. You can also change the speed and it'll help. The problem with changing shutter speed may mean you'll have to do more in post work to brighten up the footage. That's the only issue with LEDs...GoPro hates them. Just as soon as I can afford one, I am switching over to an Ace Pro model from Insta360.
As you know Marty I keep fishtanks and I have done like A LOT of research on PVC glue because I am constantly gluing and plumbing pipes. While there is some science out there that suggests in high PSI applications fail rate of non primered pvc is of note... for just about everything else it is actually not required and that took me down some deep rabbit holes to research exactly WHY would we even sell/need primer and here is what I found. For home construction and building codes... inspectors are lazy and do not want to be reviewing every single joint which is why they mandate builders to use "primer" because it comes in purple. Actual PVC glue comes in liquid clear/yellow white so when it dries you can't see it from 6 feet away and so having primer in there just allows them to note that it has been "glued". That being said... Red Hot and Rain N Shine do not "really" require primer because they are cure super fast. In fact they melt pvc so fast that you literally have just seconds... don't ask me how I just had to add $60 to my repair bill of water pump plumbing when I found out the hard way this past weekend.
One could place a rain barrel to catch the run off in the wet season. Water can sustain a garden which will sustain you. Keep pushin.
Ran to the comment section to leave the same reply! Rain barrel for the win!
@@patrickkerr329 Me too lol!
Time to research tarp gutters

Nice when projects prove to work as intended Marty! Well done - keep 'em coming, and stay safe & well. 👍👍
awesome job Marty!!!!!!!
Thanks Marty
Nice video Marty, keep up the good work!
Nice job Marty!
Hey Marty this is good training for when you build your kayak sailboat😀😀

Gota love a summer rain.
Now that I know the outcome --thanks for the facebook spoilers Marty-- I am excited in a different way as to how you get there!

Gorilla makes a primer/glue mix. I use it all the time for putting together rod holders.

Looks great, and now I’m thinking ooo water catching apparatus? Nice to fill up when it rains lol
vacuum a string through pipes with chunk of a baggie tied on. really easy. Only female mosquitos bite. Carpet makes good erosion control
Yes they do make clear primer Oatey for CPVC and PVC all the big box store's have it

Thread lock might have helped on the eyebolts and a spring clamp couldve helped hold the canvas in place? Doncha jus love armchair carpenters?
I've never used primer for pvc. I just wipe off the peices to be glued and glued and give a few twists. I've never had one come undone or leak.
Ok now that you are settled, how about some fishing post
how did they do during Debbie???
🖐😎👍
5:49 I never used or saw someone using primer in PR 5:49 y can’t remember one job there where the coupling slipped off
