Hi Cormac, looks like you had some nice prime fish, you must have been stoked after the session, great video. The rod would that be the Major Craft Triple Cross TCX-902ML/EU Custom? Why I ask is that I'm currently using a Tail walk 8'8 which I like but find when I use the Patch II 28grm its getting near its end of its power zone which is 35grm but I think the rod is a lower rating. How does your Major craft perform with the higher range lures. I do know that there is a new range for bass fishing from major craft coming out this year. Many Thanks Graham.
Hello Graham, thanks for taking a look. It is indeed that rod. I have both the 9ft and 96ml EU Custom. I found myself using the longer rod last year for no major reason only I just liked it a bit more. It is rated 10-30g also. I have used 28g Savage gear seekers and 30g hard plastic lures and the rod is very comfortable with them. I think the rod could handle a little more if needed however I rarely need anything heavier. The 9ft version might be slightly better for working heavier surface lures at distance perhaps. Yes the new rod should be out March/April with a bit of luck. Looking forward to getting my hands on it.
@@bassfishingireland Thanks for the info, I have spoken with Mike from Chisel bait and tackle shop and he has advised me to hang on and await these new rods. I think that they are, 8 6' and 9 6' lengths. It would good to hear your review of these two new rods. Regards Graham.
Lads, I am looking to get myself set up & wanted to know what rod/reel you might recommend and the best lures (in your opinion) for the east coast of IRE? Ideally a budget/begginer set up to start with. Kind regards
I suppose im looking to get set up to start fishing without breaking the bank... going from there then I can add to it, if (once!) I get 'hooked' 🙈 like ive seen a shimano vengence 9' bass rod & catana 3000 combo for like €100 but is there better options at that price or slightly higher? I appreciate the follow up & reply, thank you 👍
@@davekelly585 yes that sounds decent enough alright. Savage gear do some nice rods at a decent price too. Penn have some really nice reels like a spinfisher and the battle. Very reliable reels at a good price
@@bassfishingireland have been looking at a few savsge gear rods & penn reels, so many options! Is there a particular model of rod I should look at specifically in the Savage G range?
Brother i'm always support YOUR video ❤️🙏🤝👍
Nice my brother 🙏👍❤️🤝
Thanks for watching 👍🐟
