Ditched the waders - Now using wetsuit gear for fishing

A quick video to show you what I'm wearing these days for my bass lure fishing.
I ditched the waders last year because they were so unreliable in salt water and I could not get a pair to last me a full season.

I reckon a long john 3mm is another option for some. Gul make them

I have a 5mm Palm long john for the winter months, they do the job but near as as comfortable as just the pants 👍

Thanks for posting this as others have said I too have been thinking along the wet suit route combined with life jacket for fishing, it just makes so much sense, its safer than waders and adds warmth in cold water, I spin and use the fly in the salt, this would be ideal, thanks fella.

Very useful that actually. Been thinking about it for a long time. Looks great really for longer sessions, but it also feels like a lot of hassle for a short 1-2h one

Tjanks Marcin. Its really no hassle at all. No more than pulling on waders and those big bulky boots anyway. Some sessions I just pull on the pants and leave my fleece etc on top if I'm not wading deep.
I have spent the day in gear too and i stay warm. If you try it you will see the many benefits 👌🎣👍🐟

Yeah, it's a definitely a good alternative to CW, especially when you consider the rigmarole or pulling them on and off and the inevitable leaks that happen regardless of price paid. Ironically, since I discovered American style kayak fishing a couple of years back and got onto dry suits/ buoyancy aids etc, my CW are not been used that much anymore. Tight lines.

Thanks William, yes no matter how carefully I looked after my waders they always leaked. I haven't put on my waders once on the last year since I started using the wetsuit gear

Thank you for making a video just got done watching a whole bunch of fishing wafer videos and not understanding why the hell just to use a wet suit that not only covers your whole body but has other uses as well if you do fall over or if you just wanna go swimming in one besides fishing as a whole. Also they’re extremely cheaper then waders less holes and 100% more insulation then a dumb pair of plastic fibers on a wader compared to actual nylon n rubber of the wetsuit I’ll definitely be buying a wetsuit over a wader literally right now. If you can please do more videos of you fishing in the wetsuit and the pros and cons of that to a wader and also maybe just a 6 month recap to your waders you used in the past compared to the wetsuit and which one has lasted longer
