Houston has always been on the map and known for its talent then an now . Sadly, a lot of Groups got ripped off during those days. This is a great piece of musical history for Htown!
@@Classic63 outstanding work. NELSON MILLS III lives in Houston and has an interesting story of his own. Also, as a teenager I remember seeing Carl Hampton stopping by and jamming with my brother James and cousin Raymond Winters of the Players/Fantastic recorded 1960's. I have their contact info lol ...js Blessings and thank you again for magnificent composition of music. **By the way, I saw a photo of Major Lance on the desk of Mayor Keisha Lance- Bottom
Any soul facts on the “Soul Meditations” some to hold me sessions they also was on Ovide. Heard it was a group sandwiched with TSU Toronados & Archie bell
Another fantastic commentary on unsung soul music talents. Also, can we give Ms. Gladys Gee Gee Hill praises for being a hitmaker radio DJ? Have you thought about doing a commentary on female radio deejays in the U.S.? That would be an interesting and untapped history on women's contributions to music on the airwaves.
Interesting, I've never heard of them before BUT was hearing them!! They had some good sounding stuff! I love Archie Bell & The Drells and hope their story get told as well as Barbara Lynn.
So sorry to hear that they got screwed on the song royalties for "Tighten Up." I really enjoyed dancing to that jam when I was little. Wow, their manager really blew it by not having them tour with the Who. So many doors of opportunities would have opened for them. The manager may have been intimidated by the Who's organization.
I love my prized copy of the OVIDE print of A Thousand Wonders one of my top topper most Northern Soul floor crushers

Thank You Bre!
Toreadors are bullfighters, Toronados are specifically named horses, Fender guitars and Oldsmobiles (including an Oldsmobile "Rocket" engine").
