1: been 2 or 3 years ngl 2: I usually go with melodies first if it's in my head, then the chords and then the bass and drum if not, I will start with the chords first, then drum, then the bass, then the melodies

Fun fact, my speakers for my studio are manufactured by Namco, they are from 1977. Namco partnered a lot with Panasonic and they made those speakers! They are very rare!

i would suggest starting with the baseline, but if you come up with a funky melody, start with that!
