Russell is a once in a lifetime, He just gets it. There is a reason why the older Comedians respect Russell. I think the younger generation of comedians are too afraid to work with Russell but also because like he said, they're doing fine without his help.
I feel like Maestro Fresh Wes should have been talked about more. Yes he and Kane have similar tones and cadence but Wes still has the biggest selling Canadian hiphop record with let your back bone slide. He’s an actor , tv show host , a best selling author and most importantly he’s the Godfather of Canadian hiphop but overall one of the greatest emsees of all time. It would be dope if Big Boy did some research on him and interviewed him on his platform.
I grew up in Canada the same time as Russell and I didn't hear or get influenced by any of the people he is talking about. The great ethnic divide is and was still present. I knew disco, I heard of house, EDM was a discovery 20 years later. Hip Hop never made main stream radio/tv/ performers in Montreal.Mostly I f there was a hip hop show the riot police were called and no big venue would have anything to do with it right up till the 2000's. and much later I believe.
Russell did not finish saying who his top Rappers are. So, I will name mine. 1. Biggie. 2. Jay Z. 3. Nas. 4. Eminem. 5. Pac. 6. Rakim. 7. Andre 3000. 8. Most Def. 9. KRS-1. 10. Busta Rhymes.
Russell been in the game since the 80s. His crowd worth is legendary
Russell just keeps winning. One of the GOATS for sure.🏆🏆🏆

As a Chicagoan I was baffled and thrilled when he mentioned house music🎉
What song are they referring to wicka rap “hotter than a Calcutta summer”?
Man Russell
I wonder if this entire interview was really an A.I. interview. And instead Russell was home break dancing to the theme of the Golden Girls.
