George was very smart guy, well educated. He told a lot of facts, trying to make sense out of nonsense. The type of comedian who wasn't afraid to speak his mind and he didn't give a damn because he told it like it is. The type of comedian that make you want to think while telling some of his jokes. Some of his jokes can be relatable to everyday life. He wasn't just a comedian but he was a *philosopher* as well. Likes to make you laugh and educate you at the same time and he wasn't afraid to speak the truth and we loved him for it. *MORE* George Carlin please ☺
Well his style makes you think as well. Likes to make you laugh and educate you at the same time and liked to be honest instead of beating around the bush and I respected him for it 😎
He was talking about HIV but take away the sexually transmitted part out and he has explained and predicted why natural developed covid 19 as that's the only difference and the reason is still the same
@@joshcoll2518 He used the literal definition of HIV. Covid has no chance of ever making even a tiny dent in human population. George Carlin wasn't just a comedian but he was a philosopher, actor, author and social critic and he was a very smart man. Born and raised as a New Yorker, and was known for his black comedy and reflections on politics, English language, psychology, religion and various taboo subjects. He and his "7 dirty words" comedy skit(which was a pretty funny and relatable one and recommended) were central to the 1978 U.S. Supreme court case F.C.C. v Pacifica Foundation, in which a 5-4 decision affirmed the government's power to regulate incident material on the public airwaves. And widely regarded as one of the most important and influential American stand-up comics OF ALL TIME, and not to mention he dubbed by the newspaper to be "the Dean of Counterculture comedians". The guy said a lot of facts and yet was funny about it at the same time, told it like it is and wasn't afraid to speak his own mind and was true a comedic legend. Fact fact: George Carlin played a character called "Rufus" from the movies Bill and Ted's excellent adventure(1989) and it's sequel Bill and Ted's bogus journey(1991), Starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter from the Lost Boys(1987) Both great movies with awesome soundtracks, highly recommended 😎

Yoooo, love that you’re getting hip to Carlin. Spent my childhood watching his old specials, I’ve come to find his brand of humor has informed my own more than almost anyone else as I’ve gotten older. The man is a GOAT, and every bit the philosopher as much as he is a stand up. “The sanctity of life” “war on homelessness” “you have no rights” just to name a few should effectively be required watching in some college level courses. That would be a great place to start reacting to more of his work. 🤙
George Carlin is about the most philosophical and educational comedian besides Dave Chappelle. He also has an impressive outlook on people, politics, religion etc... This guy produces FACTS! that some of us are unaware of. Easy top 10 of comedians. Thank you for the video and reaction J.

George Carlin was one of the first comedians to do a brand new hour of material every year in his HBO Specials. Carlin and Richard Pryor set the bar very high. Today's "reality TV" comedians don't quite hit the mark.
George Carlin had an almost 50 year career and went through several transitions in his style. Check out 7 Words You Can't Say On TV for one of his most famous older bits.
i wish i had a teacher like that 😂👍 great reactions, another funny bit of him is the very old "losing things" or "similarities"... "on the airplanes" btw he meant the HIV virus in that bit
George Carlin is the person the rest of the comedians that are "edgy" patterned themselves from. He was the first comedian with an edge. Nobody has ever come close to his intelligence or delivery. He was unique in every way. He was a genius, historian, philosopher, comedian, and showman. He was a rare breed.
George Carlin became my favorite comedian because he performed my type of comedy. He joked about real things and didn't even necessarily mean to be funny. Rest in Peace to a legend

That's why he is able to say with so much glee that the planet will get rid of humans like a bad case of flees. He is really looking at it as if he was an outsider to the human race.
While I was watching this video, I started remembering that the first pollutant that killed most of the life in the planet was oxygen; the cyanobacteria that lived in the planet almost disappeared and new species that breath oxygen evolved. The second planet scale pollutant was trees; it took millions of years to evolve bacteria that could digest and recycle cellulose, in the mean time every dead tree was just accumulating in the surface of the planet blocking the soil and the space for other species. Now scientists are finding bacteria that can digest oil spills and plastic, still not enough to solve our dilemma, but probably in a million years all the plastic left behind will be abundant source of food for new species that don't still exist today.
I am not saying we shouldn't care for our echo system, it is possible that if we hurt our habitat so much, humans will end up disappearing from the planet, but to Carlin's point, at least let's call it what it is, we are caring for our survival and our living conditions, instead of calling it arrogantly "saving the planet".

Welcome to the world of George Carlin
He was a rare breed.
jayshara, hope to see you in key west soon.... 😬
George Carlin became my favorite comedian because he performed my type of comedy. He joked about real things and didn't even necessarily mean to be funny. Rest in Peace to a legend
