In today's episode we tackle the intown/urban university campus - which dare I say, turns out waaaay better than I thought it would! I had a lot of fun making the area!
As requested, we've gone for a longer episode this time around - I try not to get overly carried away with the detailing, and we actually do a bit more than just build the campus. There's some overall expansion and progression to the city as a whole!

It might be crazy attention to detail, but I love how the pink tree you squeezed in right by the raised pathway ended up being a darker pink and smaller tree like it's not getting enough light because of the path bridge. Very realistic! Lol

Regarding the question of whether to keep any of the cemeteries you placed earlier once you reach the milestone that unlocks crematoriums, let me put in my two cents. I have found that keeping cemeteries spread throughout the city, but set on empty allows them to serve as a useful buffer for when the big death wave inevitably comes. The reason being that in my experience, crematoriums are always limited by the rate at which they can pick up the deceased requiring transport before processing capacity, so having some cemeteries that can send out more hearses to collect the deceased and serve a temporary place to store them when demand ramps up can help out immensely with keeping the citizens that are living happy. You can either turn the cemeteries off when they're not needed to save on upkeep, or leave them running while set to empty to raise land value and happiness. Alternatively, if you find this remains shuffling scheme a bit morbid, you can simply download some custom crematoriums from The Workshop that have more hearses.
Best episode so far 😁 loved the uni campus and concert nice mix again. 50 episodes pffft no less then the original please 😁 then 81 tiles at the end.
I love it! Every video adds a new aspect to the city. The city is becoming increasingly more and more beautiful. I can't wait to see the public transit through the city.

Though I have been watching your contents for the past year or so I only recently "got" the idea of telling a story with the city and I am enjoying playing even more
Mod idea!! Allow you to destroy cemeteries without them being emptied but whatever is built on top of it is haunted. People living there always getting sick, commercial and industrial don't ever have enough business stuff like that.

Really loving this city build, man! If I could make a suggestion? Use the curve road tool instead of the freehand road tool to get those curves to connect smoothly with less fuss over making new nodes, deleting, and reconnecting. As a bonus, if you do them right, you can get some roads to be much closer together while keeping it vanilla. No moveit or anarchy mods needed!

Not sure where you're at but throughout the US, never see random high rise buildings right next to low density buildings like that... There is always a transition, low density is replaced by medium density which transitions to high density taller buildings...
If you actually mark your campus area as such, you can again put stuff there on pathways (and I guess tram ways too) instead of streets. Not sure whether this only works for campus buildings or also park buildings, though.

You don't need a park entrance gate to get the benefits from the park area, so I don't get why you place them if you don't want to make money from them. Just paint the district, make paths and plant trees and the land value in the area goes up.

I usually don't watch long playthrough, like 50+ episodes with ~30 minutes or more per eps. But with this, because I'm watching from eps 1 and it's still ongoing, maybe I'll stick around, besides I like your playstyle and can't wait for next one

Speaking of "Variety is the spice of life", I just recently figured out that you can use the Park Life buildings interchangeably. So you can use a Zoo Cafe in a City Park.
You can use a disaster to collapse the cemetery instead of waiting tell its empty then just place a new one anywhere

would a stadium on the rivers edge look cool?
Can you help as to why my town suddenly says it's out of power? I check all my lines and I'll have 3 or 4 windmills up already. This is twords the beginning each time before I hit my second milestone.
I'd just double check that all the zones are connected to one another - you might have a power producing zone not getting their power out to the people!

I play on console and it always looks like there is a haze over the city. Even before you put your first building down. Is yours so clear because of the upgraded PC graphics? Or are you using a mod?
You'e not the first to ask that - I completely mod everything about this game when I'm not filming this series, there isn't supposed to be any spillover but maybe something keeps the clouds at bay when I'm playing Vanilla.
The visuals are completely vanilla here, so you're probably on a different map theme. Boreal maps are more "hazy" than temperate maps like Islands.

I will say, I strongly dislike the deathwaves. Feel it's way too overpowered at times
Oh and with bridges, I lower the terrain slightly. Then if still won't build, I lower the terrain under the road; usually works then. Finally I level the terrain
