I first heard this song in my angst-ridden, sloppy-poetic, romantic-to-a-fault teen years and would sing it without pause. Now, the message is so ridiculously clear: What is it you really want? Is "that" what you want? Or is it something else, something even better than what you or anyone else had in mind; something worth waiting for while just smiling away, living your own life peacefully? 🕊
I can't understand why Liz isn't on everyone's A list . She is so talented . Way more talented than any of the current crop of fluff promoted today. Never give up Liz ...we are here waiting for more from you.
All Liz Phair ZEN LOVE & WAR…….. Keep the music ROCK & ROLLING You are other worldly!!! So refreshing!!! So UNIQUE ROCKET BOY.Rock it Rock ON You Are a STAR!!! Keep on going as you are!!!
This song from Liz Phair should be dedicated to Constance Hatchaway the Black Widow Bride from Ther Haunted Mansion, because it tells the story about a Bride-zilla in her aggressive state. 😱
This has always been one of my favorite Liz Phair songs. The sound quality on this video however is horrible! It is either been too compressed to some sort of weird filter has been put on it. Please Liz upload a version with better audio quality.
Liz Phair is in many ways ground zero for indie/Riot Girl sub genre She was putting out stuff that was decades ahead of everyone else! Exile in Guyville gets overshadowed by Morissette’s Jagged Little pill which is a shame) Honestly Liz is beyond underrated/overlooked i don’t get it (It’s one of those mysteries of the world)
What does this song even mean? What bridal dress is polyester? Is she discouraging women from getting married and having families? Why? Is Liz even happy? Very strange and negative message that makes no sense. I hope women do not take life advice from Liz Phair who seems lost and unhappy.
i dont know her or whether she’s happy, but this is a strange and negative interpretation of the song. “polyester bride” is a derogatory term for someone who gets married multiple times. the world isnt black and white, pro-marriage or anti-marriage. its a song encouraging taking time to find someone you like and enjoying your freedom while doing so, rather than rushing to get married for the sake of marriage, divorcing, and having to get married multiple times because you chose a bad person to marry the first time. looking at the number of women who get abused by their spouses, pretty good advice.

Such a great banger of a song, and the lyrics are both touching and hilarious, which is very hard to pull off successfully. Liz is awesome.
The vocal transition to “you’ve got time” is also done beautifully and adds melancholy to a great song that has great sassy lyrics
I forgot about this song for so many years, its brings back so many memories. Thank you so much for the great music.
I can’t realize how can someone be so beautiful and talented at the same time. Please someone Explain it to Me. ❤
Fantastic and can't believe how few views it has
Great days indeed

Dear 240p, 2024 called, wants to hear this song in a not-garbage quality.
You’re criticizing a video posted in 2010. Get over it.
Kevin smith played this on wake and bake
They referenced this song in the Jericho TV show. Actually makes sense.
Whitechocolatespaceegg is her best and I won’t listen to any exile in guyville nonsense.

why is the quality so bad
There was a HD version where it was so good liz looked like sheryl crow but i cant find it anywhere :(
Do you want to be loved or just hot and used because he has money and you're hot?
Gay pride
The girly sound version blows this recording away
Wish Kurt Cobain would have ended up with you instead... You have more talent in your pinky than... Well, you know
Didn't realise musical talent is a factor in relationships lol. How petty.
So people could harass Liz instead?
@@anonmouse6337 nah. She's not sketch
Kurt would have considered Liz a prissy college chick.
Kurt was good at songwriting and sucked at playing instrument and choosing a couple
