- Fodera artists Mike Bendy and Matt Garrison sat down at our first ever Fodera Owners Meet and Greet to jam over "Footprints" by Wayne Shorter!
Mike is playing our Yin Yang Standard 5 while Matt can be heard on a custom headless Imperial MG 5 Elite.
Garrison has been around for a long time. And it’s immediately apparent. The tone, the feel. That sound of maturity can’t be imitated w/ eq. You gotta actually put in the years of playing and then it eventually just starts to come out on its own.
How beautiful Matt Garrison's attitude is... Clearly, Mike Bendy broke the form(2bars delayed). But Matt just waited for him to follow. And also Mike Bendy played wrong change on the bridge, but Matt just followed him.
Keep in mind these guys were asked to play about 5 minutes prior to this, and I know at least Matt is playing someone else's instrument. Both of these guys have CHOPS.
I didn't say those guys don't have chops. They do have chops.
Joe Henry he said Mike got lost he didn't say anything about chops.
Modal forms can be confusing. Then couple that with playing with Matt G, I think Bendy did a great job. I would have froze if Matt gave me that eye on the early change to the 4.
Not that there is a bridge in Footprints anyway, but I agree on what you say. But then again, sometimes it is nice to break the form; with the right musicians it can lead to new horizons
One day I will have the chance to play one of these beautiful instruments it's one of my life goals to play one and play one well
The bass of my dreams!!!!! This bass will be mine someday.
The imperial Mini MG seems wider from below to top proportinally then the one shown on your web page. I find it even better
That one's not a mini. That's my bass done with the "mini" headless concept but still in a 33" scale. Still fits in a guitar bag!
Why black n white, pls let me see the beaut of that fodera's top
The chordal lick at 1:56
Playing all of a sudden in front of an Audience with the one and only M.G. “I’ll be shitting my pants “ and probably unable to put my ideas together
What it sounds like walking through the practice rooms at Berklee. Lotta notes...
Intenzity or namm
Not a lot of music going on though. Just a bunch of dissonant nonsense
@@luke125 why dont you just say you don't know what you're talking about? lol
Matt Garrison is the motherfuckingest bass player I've ever heard in my life
Bill "The Buddha" Dickens - Bass Day 1996.
Superb
my man Matt G dope!
awesome thank you so much!!!
What bass is Matt playing?Hes a beast.
That's the Fodera Mini MG. 30" scale, tuned E-C, with a low B detuner. 10,000+ dollars
Close! That's my personal bass, based on the MG Mini (30.75"). Mine is 33" but still w/ the headless/drop-tuner options.
They dance!
Matt number 1
What a neat video of them warming up and practicing their scales. When does the song start?
what strings are you using
Can anyone help me deciding what tuning Matt is playing? I don't know whether to buy a 5-string or a 4-string. Does he use a low B string or a high C string?
Matt generally uses a high C string
Alistair Rhodes thanks man!
Casper Jonathan EADGC
He also has a switch that drops his E string to a low B
To a low D@@wcalimese
Hi, is this another type of Fodera Mini MG that Matthew is using?
Yes Is a fusión between the mini mg and the imperial MG 2
wrong changes on turn around!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Jazz nothings actually wrong
Sounds rad, awesome technique.. too scaley! But rad AF
13 k euro for a bass ??????
Really boring type os music.......
....if you are legally deaf
@@MaximusWolfe You can fool yourself with these fast notes and out of a real context within the real universal of jazz. I don't see music in this video. Take any record with Victor Bailey, a few others with Jeff Andrews and John Patitucci and you'll see what bass improvisation really is in the real, professional world of electric bass. Maybe your name will increase to Maximos, Minimus....
@@ComerciaisTV you are an absolute noob in the matter of bass and improvisation, there is a real improvisation with melody, passages and interval moves.
Amazing sound and awesome players!!!
nice ideas but very, very confused! 👎
The confusion is yours alone.
They choose the wrong instrument, they should play the guitar instead ?
You probably not only don’t play bass but also suck at guitar
Sigh
You must be quiet now.
grow up….
