“I was with my friend Chad, and we both passed him our sticks” 9:40. Out of context sounds super weird, but hey at least I won the candy and you didn’t 🥰
I clicked on the video thinking the faces on the thumbnail were put there by Taylor to be funny. Nope! Thanks to Greenland I'm having nightmares tonight
I thought you were clickbait crap photoshopping the thumbnail with that kid's face on the train engine. then I saw the train in the actual video then my brain died
You should visit Beppu Kijima Kogen Amusement Park next time! It is at this spa town in Southern Japan called Beppu and it has Japan's largest wooden roller coaster still operating, Jupiter (the other is at an amusement park in Osaka). There's also a Skycoaster, a unique ferris wheel where you seat outwards in some OTSRs and some other interesting roller coasters besides Jupiter. Check the place out next time you go to Japan (shame Space World at Fukuoka closed permanently in 2017 before you had the chance to visit Japan for the first time, they had some interesting roller coasters like Venus GP).
Next time I am in Japan I will for sure visit Kijma Kogen! Also on my list of places to visit next time are Rusutsu Resort, Hirikata Park, Parque España, and Lagunasia. I too am sad I missed Space World...may it rest in peace
This park is weird, but I would go just to visit that petting zoo and be surrounded by puppies. And ride the ultra twister as well. Oh and that thumbnail is iconic
Aside from the starflyer, the park looks exactly the same as it did when I went in ‘07. FYI - Atomic was a pretty intense shuttle loop!! There were some serious g forces there!! And... How dare you badmouth Sphinx?!?! 🤣😂
Yeah we thought it was weird. Maybe we misunderstood the guy (cause he didn’t speak English) but our takeaway from our exchange was we couldn’t ride the slide down. Maybe on a normal day we could but on the day we went it wasn’t open. Perhaps cause of the impending rain?
Only 2 in Asia, One was Grampus Jet at Greenland, and the other one relocated from Australia is in Thailand which is my home country, It's called Sky Coaster.
Ultra Twisters are so much fun. As a kid my absolute favorite ride for the longest was the Ultra Twister at Astroworld. I want to go to Japan again to do the Dive Ultra Twister. I went years ago but that was before I really got into coasters.
10:07 that looks like a waterslide at the bottom of the screen. That looks so steep and scary I would love to ride that. Also, I wish some American theme parks had ice houses
Do you ever plan to go back to japan and maybe visit rusutsu resort with their epic ultratwister which has a halfloop instead of the weird switchback element
If you think this is the weirdest theme park, you should go to Denmark’s Bon Bon Land next time you visit Europe. That park is flat out full of funny sculptures. It also has the roller coaster with the funniest theme, the Dog Fart Coaster.
Gao actually looks like a giant coaster I could get my family to ride! I kind of wish there were one like that near me. There's no getting them on the kind that enthusiasts consider "good". I've thought for a while that those Japanese "jet coasters" would really appeal to them, like a Mine Train but big.
Does the Ultra Twister still have a bunch of autographed sticks and photos of park guests all over the station? I had a full park day there back in 2011 and they had a thing that if you rode it over 30 times without getting off they’d take your photo and hang it up in station, so of course I did it.
I was not actively looking for this, so I am unsure if it is still there! I didn't see anything like that, so if it was something that was supposed to be pretty noticeable, then my guess is it is no longer there. That's pretty cool though!
@@CoasterStudios ahh bummer, yeah it was super noticeable. The park used to maintain a Geocities site with photos of everyone who made it over 30, but that’s obviously no longer around either. So sad if they stopped! My legs and shoulders were badly bruised the next day from being repeatedly pushed against the restraint on that crazy airtime hill lol
I just went to Greenland on Friday. Unfortunately the twisting coaster wasn't running but I enjoyed a few of the other coasters, especially the duelling one. I think it's really a great park for families, there are bigger coasters for bigger kids, smaller coasters for smaller kids etc. Did you try the 3D maze? I thought that was quite a fun activity with some weird tricks to it.
Sad to hear it wasn't running for you! Milky Way is definitely a fun pair of rides. I personally did not do the maze, but I wish I did! Just out of curiosity, how were the crowds? When we went there was no one there. I'd be curious to know how busy that place gets.
@@CoasterStudios It was a weekday, and the weather forecast said rain, though it did brighten up in the afternoon. I counted 14 people there. We were basically able to say hello to every group as we went round. I think summer holidays is the busiest season, but I've never been then. It doesn't have a reputation for really long lines.
This is my favorite park in Kyushu, but it is so damn weird! Too bad you got rained out, there really are a lot of fun things at Greenland though nothing makes any sense. It really gives the vibe that it should feel be haunted or a bit creepier, but it's just charming enough to be fun. I wish that you could have had a chance to check out the double feature theater by Grampus (I think?). The '4D' Crimson Butterfly film is okay, but the Dracula experience on the other half is great, even though it is audio only. You don't even have to understand what's being said, it's just so creepy! The Mission Control Riddle House was also pretty great, though it was very weird and we were lucky to have a friend in our group who understood Japanese idioms to get us past the challenges, since google translate wasn't cutting it. The kiddie haunted hospital was apparently once far scarier, but it got revamped into what you experienced with only a few of the original elements in the background. The haunted train next door is now the scariest at the park, though I can't give a full commentary since I took off my headphones halfway through and closed my eyes. Overall, a very weird, oddly charming, slightly over-priced park. At least you went there once!
Looking at the park footage and listening to the review, it sounds like Greenland is just playing into the "Japan is quirky" trope as hard as they can.
Fun fact: the Milky Way dual coaster was originally named Fujin-Raijin (“God of Wind and the God of Thunder”,) but they renamed it to the Milky Way after the horrible accident on the similarly named Fujin-Raijin II of Expoland that killed 1 and injured about 20. Oh wait, sorry... it really wasn’t a “fun” fact, I guess.
@@CoasterStudios Maybe this is due to the pandemic but when I ran the numbers a couple weeks ago renting a car appeared to come out cheaper - and significantly faster.
I would have never guess here in Nihon we have a Greenland and it is a thrill park xD in Scandinavia I have only ever been to Iceland and Sweden I wonder if this counts as three ww
You know what Japan has a huge shortage of? Young people. Their society is contracting due to a steadily declining birthrate and they still do not allow immigration. The reason the parks are so empty.
I really hope there's a park in Greenland that's just called Japan as well.
Assuming there even are parks in Greenland to begin with.
The thumbnail just made my entire life.
Mr. Roller Coasters I’m a subscriber and a fan
Thanks 🎢
Mr. Roller Coasters I’m from the amino
That train must be a reject from Thomas the Tank Engine.
Lol
Steam Dragon more like his rejected girlfriend😂
Yup
It was time for Thomas to leave, he had seen everything
Your reviews of foreign parks are my favorite thing on your channel. They give me a little bit of a vicarious sense of visiting the parks.
I am glad you enjoy them! I enjoy making them!
“I was with my friend Chad, and we both passed him our sticks” 9:40. Out of context sounds super weird, but hey at least I won the candy and you didn’t 🥰
To be fair we both probably had the lowest scores of the day😂
Coaster Studios YEAH BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE 😂
Oof sounds like fun
this used to be my home park and this is weirdest place I've EVER been to
And when you thought bonbon land was weird
I clicked on the video thinking the faces on the thumbnail were put there by Taylor to be funny. Nope! Thanks to Greenland I'm having nightmares tonight
I had to see this when I saw the thumbnail

This just in Disney purchases the rights to Kissy Face Lady
I hear they're working on a trilogy of Kissy Face Lady films.
Oh look at that! Kissy Junior's coming down the track.....er path....man that train is weird.

@@CoasterStudios That's good! I have been to Hirakata Park as well during my trip back in October. Quite a laid-back Japanese family theme park.
The thumbnail is great
4:45 same thing happened to me on Riddler’s Revenge at SFMM
sky rides with no seatbelts is freaky oh hell no id ride it though
Well it is only freaky if it was a chairlift. A gondala, not really
Lady Bird is a pretty good Film!
I’m gonna ask my GP friends where the theme park Greenland is? They will never guess Japan! 😂😂😂
Then ask them where Parque España is!
StamfordBridge They would probably say Spain
That train at 2:18 🤣
It was time for Thomas to leave, he had seen everything
This park is weird, but I would go just to visit that petting zoo and be surrounded by puppies. And ride the ultra twister as well. Oh and that thumbnail is iconic
Same, puppers and credits for me!
Those Togo Ultra Twisters are fun as hell. Totally agree with you on that. I remember when Great Adventure had one. Yeah, I'm old.
Aside from the starflyer, the park looks exactly the same as it did when I went in ‘07. FYI - Atomic was a pretty intense shuttle loop!! There were some serious g forces there!! And... How dare you badmouth Sphinx?!?! 🤣😂
When I went in june of 2018, i was able to ride the alpine slide with the wrist band so thats kinda odd that you werent able to
Yeah we thought it was weird. Maybe we misunderstood the guy (cause he didn’t speak English) but our takeaway from our exchange was we couldn’t ride the slide down. Maybe on a normal day we could but on the day we went it wasn’t open. Perhaps cause of the impending rain?
There are Vekoma suspended swinging coasters??? O_O
Ye, there is also one in Bobbejaanland, Belgium, called Dream Catcher
Yeah there's a few - one in europe and 2 in asia I believe?
Only 2 in Asia, One was Grampus Jet at Greenland, and the other one relocated from Australia is in Thailand which is my home country, It's called Sky Coaster.
I think weird is an understatement
I was laughing sooo hard when he said when they gave him the stick and they was talking in Japan and he kept nodding his head that soon funny

I know I will go back to japan at some point. It might be a while but I think whenever I do, I will visit Rusutsu Resort for sure.
Now that you got here, I recommend going to BonBon Land at Denmark.
You should make a video on how to plan trips.

He went!
Gao used to have a vertical loop for some reason
The 2 girls faces you see all around the park are a very famous comedian duo here lol. They are the advertisement model for the park at the moment.
That's certainly an interesting looking park
+Coaster Studios the train ride reminds of the tram from moreys piers
TOOT TOOT GET ON THE KISSY FACE TRAIN

I actually live in Kyushu and I go to this park a couple times a year. Next time your in Japan, I think you should go to Kijima Kogen in Beppu
That Ferris wheel looks similar to one in Tokyo I rode. Super tall and the cars are extremely small.
that thumbnail got me
This park is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach of Japan
I want to become a coaster enthusiast, I have already been counting down the credits.
Japan loves their Observation Wheels
That stick thing in the hospital reads fear, I went in a haunted house at cosmo world where you hold a candlestick.
Is there Goats under the Giga?
That is an extremely quirky park.

Yes
Almost feels like the Conneaut of Japan.
march and april of 2020, that's when we couldn't even leave our house due to lockdown
The Farris wheel is about 320 ft in diameter.
2:52 to 3:00 I'm surprised that Mr. Vekoma didn't start his crap. 8:14 to 8:16 LOL. And I think Taylor GPed several times while visiting.

No

how do you pet a flamingo?
Stroke it I guess lol
How can they stay open if they r never busy
From what I've heard about parks in Japan, they can get extremely packed on the day's students aren't at school.

Yea who else thought the face was edited on the train and were shocked to see it was real
1:12 It’s DESTROYAH!!!!
Well Greenland is covered in ice and isn't actually green so...
And Iceland is green and not covered in ice. 🤷🏻♀️
