Fr, so far the closest is MP-21 Bumblebee. Other bumblebee’s have their issues: MP-45 (everything outside the vehicle mode), Netflix (partsforming), SS86 (Head sculpt for some, vehicle mode being more like Bumper)
you know what's funny? since this guy got announced, people started finding any excuse to defend the WFC mold, trying to act like they don't mind the partsforming even if they always mention that to talk trash on cliffjumper only
I don't mind the partsforming because I see it more as an accessory than just a part to move around. But 86 is still a more show accurate design and has a more interesting transformation without as many parts having to move all at the same exact time.
Everyone expects studio series to be a micropriced masterpiece. But yes... I do find it odd that people are all of a sudden getting exactly what they wanted and then they complain about it.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio i mean, I'm on my way to see if I get my hands at least on cliffjumper or bugbite, I don't see much problem with the WFC mold either

Would have been nice if he had a spare tyre accessory that just plugged into the back, it would have made the robot mode even more accurate, but I'm sure an upgrade kit will make that at some point
@Smashed479 ao almost close to 25 then. Still even at that price I would say it's somewhat worth it. One thing I will say tho is that they should've included the tire that goes behind the vehicle mode. Even if it was a separate piece it would've been nice to have that to complete rhe look of the whole thing. Overall ive.been satisfied with my copy do the figure and it has definitely become the superior version over the Netflix one which while still good is not as great as the 86 one.
I have the “parts forming” Goldbug, Cliffjumper and BugBite…OMG IT’S NO BIG DEAL! They are all still pretty cool figures, all things considered…just be HAPPY Hasbro is making things us fans enjoy, when a lot of toys just want to appeal to kids. I’m a happy fan, occasional QC issues aside.
The WFC molds are decent, but this new one is definitely better and surpasses what came before. A little on the expensive side but definitely a great figure.
It's unfortunate they didn't cast the chest piece in the same yellow, and paint the windows, instead of painting the black plastic yellow. Guaranteed it was done this way to save more pennies, which is lamesauce, because he's already the smallest deluxe with no bonuses to warrant costing the same as the others. He's smaller, and costs less to make. Toss in some kind of bonus to justify the price man, blast effects at least :/
I feel like they could have afforded an official VW license getting full DX price for this guy, but then they'd have had to keep paying it for any repaints, and with the non-licensed penny racer car there's less to change to turn it into a decent Cliffjumper - basically just head and feet. I have to say I like the black windows so much more than light blue, though. I've been meaning to take some metallic midnight blue to the five-pack Wheeljack and Trailbreaker I bought off ebay, and I think that'll be even better given how the toyhax sticker sets end up when they use dark metallic blue, but black is just as good as long as the rest of the vehicle mode isn't too dark to contrast well.
First Bee since classics that I haven’t had major issues with. Issues so big I didn’t display any of the previous versions. No parts forming, no bits that don’t clip in tightly, no awkward proportions, looks amazing in both modes. I could see some people complaining that his alt mode is a penny racer rather than a real bug, but that’s exactly what he was in the tv show, so I have no issues at all. I love this figure.
8:36 Regarding the claim that this figure is gonna still be on shelves, that was entirely wrong. Just about every store that I've visited that sells Transformers products/figures has run out of the Bumblebee figure. Check Gamestop, Walmart, Target, and many others and they have had the figure sold out or unavailable in-store. Luckily before work I ended up checking my local target and they finally had not 2, not 3, but 1 sole copy of the figure. I got so lucky getting the figure as I was thinking of not stopping by but I'm glad I did cuz the figure was worth picking up.
"Still on shelves" means in the future he will be restocked plenty of times, just like TFOne Prime. Sure he's gonna be sold out now because he's a new, desirable figure but he will be back in stock soon enough.
The Bumblebee-all-end-all, to pinch a Thewism. I like this guy. The Netflix and 4-pack molds were good too, I still enjoy them, but I’ll admit it’ll be nice to have a Bee that doesn’t partsform 😅
This quite nitpicky of me, but I would prefer that the corners of the roof be more rounded to more resemble a squashed, penny racer looking beetle. Those are really the only things holding me back from loving the vehicle mode.
The chest panel and backpack irk me. They're not animation accurate for either mode and it's clear that they were designed to be inevitable retools into Hubcap, Bumper and in the case of just the chest panel, Cliffjumper.
I personally prefer the er cliff mold bee but this new one aint bad Also the hood and roof bit transforms easier if you peg in the head assembly, I didn't know to unpeg it and was disappointed at the head movement until I realized I could unpeg it
My third time collecting began in 2018, just as PotP ended and Siege began. I do remember thinking it was weird we didn't get a Bumblebee in Siege given (a) he was one of the few main cast Transformers in G1 who got a Cybertronian mode and (b) his movie was out. I was excited to get the Earthrise one, and I do love it. I especially love the vehicle mode, to the point, I prefer to keep him in that mode. I'm excited to get this Bumblebee to transform back and forth.
I kind of like how this Bumblebee pairs with the _Legacy_ Goldbug, especially knowing how much more different they are mechanically. Plus, it’s sort of a Porygon to Porygon2 situation where the upgrade/evolution rounds out the hard edges. Even still, there’s enough rounded shape language on the former to imply Bee’s friendliness, so it wouldn’t be as jarring an upgrade between the two if I used the Worlds Collide Bee. Incidentally, using this ‘Bee and not the WC one means Hubcap stands out a little more.
I been a completist since G2. I buy everything. To me its stupid buying certain ones. Why not go for it? People doo. look people even collect cars even. What makes me happy so I buy each & every new mold & repaint. Now can we please, please get a bumper out of this mold? Just a couple retooled parts?
So, I have Netflix BB and I like him more in general in terms of a realistic Beetle mode. Transformation and roobot though, I find the SS86 and Netflix BB's to be a draw. Yeah Netflix has to parts form the rear end, but that never REALLY bothered me. I'm not as big into the Pennyracer look of the new BB. I kinda wish they had made a more stubby BB where the fenders were all the same size and he was just a chunky round, Beetle-esque vehicle rather than a scrunched up SD Beetle. I'm also not a huge fan of all the straight lines they put on the curved sections of the hood and headlights like it was old video game graphics where circles needed to be made with a bunch of straight lines. I get they were trying to avoid a VW lawsuit and never having a licensed VW BB again, but I have to think that maybe they went a little too hard. Another thing I like better on the Netflix BB is that much like Goldbug, he's fully painted in vehicle mode, meaning that the color matching is somewhat better across the yellows. It just feels more premium. I'll get SS 86, and maybe Hasbro will do the eventual Cliffjumper, maybe Hubcap again, and maybe we'll et Bumper and Glyph someday before Hasbro decides to start the Minibots all over again...again. 9_9
This thing would be near perfect for me if the front headlights on the car were closer to how they were in the show (more like a VW Beetle) instead of sticking out like that, and the back was a bit more curved. Besides that tho, I am very excited for this thing
I just picked him up today and i absolutely adore him i can't wait for the ss86 prime to come out i didn't have the netflix bee but i had the shattered glass goldbug and i didn't really like the cliffjumper mold i hope we see an update for cliff and shattered glass gold
Just reviewed this smol lovable stupidmobil, and the only issue I have with it is the paint longevity. The bumper chips paint like crazy under the slightest amount of pressure.
I picked this one up yesterday because the only one I already had was the origins and the SS86 is awesome even if he is one of the smallest deluxe molds the transformation is great and it's a good representation of the character. It does suck that in the United States Walmart raised the prices of deluxe figures back to $24.99 instead of the $19.99 they were selling them at for months when I bought gears. It doesn't matter though because they're the only 2 bumblebee figures I ever intend on owning
Apparently 2006 Classics Bumblebee was the Bumblebee to end all Bumblebees, since they've never made another good one. I'm just glad I managed to snag the RTS redeco a couple of years ago for a reasonable price.
I want it a lot, but man those black windows really do a lot of harm. I’ll probably hold off until I know for certain that there’s some good blue window sticker set.
Seeing the Earthrise Bumblebee next to the SS86 bumblebee is like seeing retro Sonic and modern Sonic in Sonic Generations Seeing either of them next to SS Bayverse Bumblebee would be like seeing video game Sonic next to the original movie trailer's ugly Sonic
100th like! But I don't think this isn't going to be the last bumblebee because there is the tf 1 bumblebee, the rumored re-do or release of a movie 6 bumblebee.
I actually prefer either the Earthspark version, or the Thrilling 30 version (Nightbeat, but as Bumblebee) or the Reactivate version. Because I want a badass Bumblebee instead of tiny one.
I think he looks great in robot mode but although the car mode is like a penny racer, its got too many broken panel lines and was a bit rounder. I dont want it to be an accurate beetle just a bit more curved.
I don't like the alt mode as much as the Earthrise version's. The car panels don't tab in that well and something always feels a bit askew. Trying to fix one gap/tab causes another gap to pop open. Nothing to tab the backwheels to the doors, etc.
I’m more partial to the vehicle-accuracy of the earthrise mold (I think the penny racer look is kinda goofy and weird) but I’m still glad we have an accurate figure from legacy
As good as this figure is, it kinda sucks that Hasbro has basically gotten away with this amount of shrinkflation in their size classes over the years. They could have at least made deluxes around this size a little cheaper than normal, but Earthrise Cliffjumper basically told the higher ups that this is now an acceptable norm. ROTF Scout Class for 10/15 bucks vs this guy for 25/35 bucks just hurts on a different level.
To be fair, the parts count on this one is nearly double that of an ROTF Scout, but it's still egregious that it's being sold as a Deluxe. Cliffjumper at least came with enough extra stuff to make up for the difference in size, but this Bee doesn't. This really should have been its own price point of around $18 at most, IMO. Inflation over the past 15 years (yeah, that's how long it's been) has been pretty bad, so $10 is just unrealistic given devaluation of the dollar.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio I mean fair point. Obviously you can't make a 1-1 comparison between this Bumblebee and Scout or Basic class figures of the past, but it's still nuts that we're expected to pay deluxe prices for him when he should be a little cheaper.
At this point Hasbro has abandoned the idea of classes being size classes, and instead have kept the same name and are using it as price points for extra funding by designers/ are using it to make a profit on how much engineering a figure takes or the plastic quality. Figures that should be voyager class are called leader class due to them requiring more funding for engineering or them coming with lots of accessories. That’s the way I look at it now and to be honest it’s made me less opposed to how they’re handling the different classes, because some of these figures like SS ROTB Optimus Primal wouldn’t be as good as it is if it was actually marketed for the voyager class IMO, because I know it would be hard for him to look and feel as good to mess with as he does if he had voyager funding.
@@xeno8092 A good rule of thumb is the balance between parts count and size. A large figure with fewer parts can be a Deluxe, or a small figure with more parts can be a Deluxe. It's about how much they can squeeze out of the tooling molds allowed. Fun fact, Cybertron Override was originally meant to be a heavy retool of Studio Series Hot Shot but the designers managed to squeeze all of her parts into the allowed extra molds for a retool, meaning she's 100% her own parts.
For the best G1 style Bee still going to have to say the Classics one is the best. Honestly with a bit more engineering it could be done to look more or less exactly like a full on G1 version
I think I’ll stick to the Netflix BB. Even with the parts forming back pack. The SS86 has cool engineering, but the proportions are off in car mode. I think every G1 fan knows BB as VW Beetle and the SS86 doesn’t look Beetle-y enough. Also the price point, I’d rather save my money towards a different release like SS86 Optimus and Ramjet.
im glad this figure exists, but im also glad i have a netflix bee. the engineering on this one feels like the earthrise engineering got another pass and has truly been mastered, but that altmode is just… not it, man. coming off the beautifully faithful vw beetle of the netflix figure, the simultaneously angular and rounded look just doesnt feel right. especially since it’s studio series, aka the line that loves licensed cars, so it just feels like they didnt want to pay the licensing fee for it or whatever and just made a really whatever-looking car mode.
I really like this figure. Hes such an awesome little Bumblebee with a great botmode, carmode, and everything! I really, really want to get him! Netflix/ER mold is good, quite well-done, but I think this guy is a little, just a little better. Both are good. I've got Goldbug, fyi
I prefer Netflix Bee The proportions look a lot nicer to me I prefer the darker, orangey yellow and black And partsforming isn’t really a problem for me, I just don’t care about it as long as it has a place to store in both modes which it does
Honestly the only issue I have with this figure is the price. $35 is pretty horrid for a figure this small. It should be down at $25 at MOST… especially since legacy animated bee is nearly half the price of this guy. Like Studio series label or not this is pretty rough, and it makes me glad that gears got released in legacy instead of the SS86 line. We should not have to pay that high of a price for a MINI BOT. Even if it’s a really really REALLY good figure.
SS86 is way, WAY better than the Netflix. No partsforming and as cartoon accurate as a Generations budget allows it. He's even much better looking than the MP2.0 from all angles. My only nitpick is the lack of a VW license, thus making the vehicle looks like the "PS1" version of a Beetle.
No T-Rex arms, No bad tolerances, and no partsforming, this figure sure is the bee's knees!

Apparently 2006 Classics Bumblebee was the Bumblebee to end all Bumblebees, since they've never made another good one. I'm just glad I managed to snag the RTS redeco a couple of years ago for a reasonable price.
I missed the other Bee so I'm definitely gonna pick this up. Or wait until the eventual blue window edition
I want it a lot, but man those black windows really do a lot of harm. I’ll probably hold off until I know for certain that there’s some good blue window sticker set.
Question is, who’s better, legacy animated bumblebee or ss86 bumblebee?
Seeing the Earthrise Bumblebee next to the SS86 bumblebee is like seeing retro Sonic and modern Sonic in Sonic Generations
Seeing either of them next to SS Bayverse Bumblebee would be like seeing video game Sonic next to the original movie trailer's ugly Sonic
The bumblebee hive keeps growing
I think he looks great in robot mode but although the car mode is like a penny racer, its got too many broken panel lines and was a bit rounder. I dont want it to be an accurate beetle just a bit more curved.
This is the real Masterpiece Bumblebee
I don't like the alt mode as much as the Earthrise version's. The car panels don't tab in that well and something always feels a bit askew. Trying to fix one gap/tab causes another gap to pop open. Nothing to tab the backwheels to the doors, etc.
I feel like it's just 1 more remold away from perfection
This figure is genuinely great and I love him. I hope my local target or Walmart gets him in stock.
Also, I think Bumblebee should be an AE86.
I’m more partial to the vehicle-accuracy of the earthrise mold (I think the penny racer look is kinda goofy and weird) but I’m still glad we have an accurate figure from legacy
this might be the first deluxe class transformer that I want to buy lol (I only have one deluxe figure by trading that that was it)
I think the black plastic windows are a materials necessity or something like that.
I can not wait for this guy!!!!!
5:08 Which goldBUGs a lot of people.
In the words of Jobby, “Who sold their soul to design this?”
personally, I'm sticking to the Earthrise one simply because of the Beetle, I love the Beetle
For car mode I prefer the gold bug mode. To me that one just looks like a better car
The yellow paint matching was perfect on animated bee. It's a pity they couldn't do the same for this guy. The car roof also looks far too flat.
The car roof looks exactly like this in a lot of G1
@@SirGrimLockSmithVIII Definitely.
Love this figure, and im really hoping for a Cliffjumper retool.
I really hope they remake cliff with this mould.
1:46 his face looks like George Carlin
For the best G1 style Bee still going to have to say the Classics one is the best. Honestly with a bit more engineering it could be done to look more or less exactly like a full on G1 version
I think I’ll stick to the Netflix BB. Even with the parts forming back pack. The SS86 has cool engineering, but the proportions are off in car mode. I think every G1 fan knows BB as VW Beetle and the SS86 doesn’t look Beetle-y enough. Also the price point, I’d rather save my money towards a different release like SS86 Optimus and Ramjet.
technically the new ss is screen accurate
im glad this figure exists, but im also glad i have a netflix bee. the engineering on this one feels like the earthrise engineering got another pass and has truly been mastered, but that altmode is just… not it, man. coming off the beautifully faithful vw beetle of the netflix figure, the simultaneously angular and rounded look just doesnt feel right. especially since it’s studio series, aka the line that loves licensed cars, so it just feels like they didnt want to pay the licensing fee for it or whatever and just made a really whatever-looking car mode.
As of having goldbug, I think this new mold looks hype.
New bumble bee looks like bumblejumper toy
Expect Cliffjumper from this mold.
I really like this figure. Hes such an awesome little Bumblebee with a great botmode, carmode, and everything! I really, really want to get him!
Netflix/ER mold is good, quite well-done, but I think this guy is a little, just a little better. Both are good.
I've got Goldbug, fyi
Definitely gonna get him, but ill wait til we inevitably get toyhax lables to fix the windows. Not a fan of the black
Love the vids, keep up the amazing work, I think bumblebee and wheeljack have been my most anticipated figs.
I prefer Netflix Bee
The proportions look a lot nicer to me
I prefer the darker, orangey yellow and black
And partsforming isn’t really a problem for me, I just don’t care about it as long as it has a place to store in both modes which it does
Got an ad for the bumble dating app on this video lol
5:09 Heheh. You made a pun
Yk this bumblebee is gonna start my hive of bees
only complaint its really the proportions i love animation accuracy
We will see this mold again with the painted windows. Maybe a 2 pk
No blue windows. That means there will be a repaint pack with BB soon!
I honestly at first was a bit mixed on this figure. But from more and more I’ve seen of him. I started to like. This figure (despite no vw license)
