Hello beautiful people! I know how scary it is when you first hear the words "infantile spasms". But the thought of actually injecting your child is downright terrifying. I want you to know that you are not alone and we will get through this together. ❤️
I’m am so glad I found this video. I am currently in the hospital with my 9 month old (today) baby girl. She just got her first dose a few hours ago. I’m absolutely feeling sick over having to give these injections. She does not stay still and it took both the nurse and I to hold her legs. She is very active, and screamed her head off during the process. I can’t imagine doing this for the next month but somehow I will have to figure it out.
I'm so glad you found us! I'm sorry you and your family are having to go through this, but I hope the medication helps your daughter's seizures. Set up a designated area for injections, preferably not around her sleeping area and play area. That helps prevent negative associations to those places. The first week is definitely rough. But try and strengthen your resolve and push past the sorrow and the guilt. You are a wonderful mother; you can do this! ❤️
omfg thank you so much!! my son’s first prescription of Acthar is coming on Tuesday (it’s Saturday now) and i’m so nervous about it 😬 i actually feel a lot better about it now!
Have you seen where there is still meds in the needle part once you started to taper? Like .06 isn't that much on the syringe so to me it appears most of meds drawn was in the top of blue tip
Hi! Unfortunately, I do not know where else to find this medication outside of the U.S.. Please talk to a pediatric neurologist in India because they would be better able to help you!❤️
I'm so sorry about your daughter's diagnosis. I understand how scary everything seems in the beginning. I wasn't sure I would be able to give my daughter injections every day for a month. I didn't think I was strong enough. But once I understood how important this medication was for her health, I pushed past the uncertainty and I was able to do it. I focused on giving the injections as smoothly and as quickly as I could, all the while maintaining proper hygiene. As for the pain--the best thing to do is to minimize it as best as you can. Try and follow the method I used for the injection, as that decreases the pain felt. Distract your daughter with toys or a video, and have everything set up ahead of time so that all that is needed to be done, is the actual poke. The first few days are tough. Don't give up! I know you can do it because the love for your daughter is greater than the fear you have. I wish you the best of luck❤️
@@speciallyhaniya5757 hi my son is also having the same seizures effect and doctor recommends the same injection to him we are scared about its side effects ,please suggest if you seems and one. Hey i just want to know.. Can we inject it at any other places like butt or arm.. Cz it's a inyermuscular injection ..?? Is it necessary to inject it in thigh
She had less frequent seizures and some other symptoms associated with infantile spasms also improved. However, the seizures did not completely go away due to her underlying diagnosis. ACTH is the first-line treatment for infantile spasms and has been proven to have a good response. I hope you have great results! Good luck! 🙂
HI Kiruthika! Unfortunately, I don't know where this medication can be found outside of the U.S. You can try reaching out to a neurologist in India who would be better able to help!
@@speciallyhaniya5757 india neuro also tried not available last 3 month in india. Alternative injection is available synacthen and acton prolangatum. I don't know which one is best and also I'm scared and worried about my baby
Kiruthika, the medications you listed are both ACTH which is the hormone ACTHAR also contains. Unfortunately, I do not know much about either one of them and their efficacies, so I cannot tell you which one is best. Whatever decision you chose to make, is the best choice for your child because you are doing it out of love with the best intentions. You are the best mother for your baby!❤️

Hi! The site recommendation is the outer thigh for children under 12 months. As always, consult with your physician!

Why this baby didn't Cry? I must be doing it wrong
My daughter does not cry in response to the needle prick, but shows other pain behaviors.
