I'm a beginner I think this welder will make me better I currently have a amico arc-165 stick only welder I paid $139 5 years ago but only recently started welding. I really only want to stick weld black pipe. What welder should I get for schedule 40 black pipe I installed 240 vac outlet in my shop
How thick of steel can this machine weld up to on the 220v. Have you pushed it to its limits as far as thickness of metal welded in either mig or tig settings.
I bought this machine about 3 months ago and the mig works great but and running 6013 rods on stick works fine but the 7018 are a bitch maybe that where that option gets it name the damn rod stick to the project sometimes you can pull it loose other times you have to unclamp the rod and clip it loose with dikes. Now if you manage to get an arc it will run it just fine but it's frustrating.
If you're talking about subsequent starts after your first one, it's probably because a fine layer of slag has built up on the tip of the electrode. It's a very common issue with 7018 regardless of whatever machine is driving it
Great video!

Are you asking in a single pass? Full penetration? What type of joint?
That welder could run stringers for days. Who welds thick stuff on a single pass?
I have the machine. It says up to 3/8
@@alennagy3741 I bought one shortly after watching this video it’s been a great machine 👍
@@notchback93 yeah man I run my mobile welding business with this machine

85 amps on 1/8 rod? seems low no?
nevermind, 6010.. thought you were running 7018
@@ritchardposterior262 this machine doesn’t do 6010 rods, you have to use 6011.
