yes, genetics is a factor. but to an extent, a lot of it is under your control - healthy diet, exercise, consuming mentally healthy and enhancing food for the brain - within reason - i say this and someone will still find the one or two example that justifies them getting mad - that would just be their preference that they're blind to - raise your awareness, people
Being healthy plays a big part in the way we present ourselves. People who care about taking care of their body tend to also put effort into other parts of their physical appearance. Sure working out does not change facial features unless you’re losing fat which can help sculpt your face. But I think just the mindset of taking care of what you have, plays a big part
@@360.Tapestry Agreed! I’m living proof. This actually has worked for me in getting rid of the skin hanging under my chin. I use a massager on my face especially between my eyebrows as well.
💯 even if you are not the most attractive person, you can always maximize your looks by taking care of yourself in effective ways to make yourself more attractive.
If you're attractive you typically want to maintain that attractiveness so you tend to take better care of yourself ... at least that's what I've noticed.
Also, if you are unattractive, you tend to overcompensate in other aspects of your life to make up for your unattractiveness. Which will take a toll on your health and further decrease your attractiveness.
I've actually observed the opposite. I'm ugly, and I've always taken good care of myself, but everyone that I knew that was super attractive because they were born that way take it for granted and don't take care of their bodies or have a good skin care routine. It's starting to show now that we're around 30. I'm looking younger ( still unattractive unfortunately) and healthier, and they're starting to age. They're still beautiful though, and there's nothing wrong with aging, but I just wish they would at least moisturize and wear sunscreen. They still sleep in their make up. Yeah, we " overcompensate ", if that's what you want to call it, but at least I'm learning new skills, and taking care of my body in a healthy way ( since my requires work unfortunately) . Doesn't have to be a bad thing.
@@anneshirley95 I'm ugly and I've had to compensate for it by eating junk food and drinking soda. For about 3 years I ate healthy and worked out, and it didn't fix my face, nor did it do anything, it was a waste of time and effort.
@@lostzephyr2191Yo. Workout with the focus of improving your posture. Like get rid of that forward head posture, apt or whatever muscular imbalances. Strengthen the core, glutes, scapula, etc. All of this plays a big part in tongue posture which in turn affects your face. I hit my lowest point like a year and a half ago due to being ugly af, and now I've turned myself into an athlete. I specifically focus on sprinting which focuses on improving the whole body from the bottom up starting from the feet. For food, I've cut out seed oils and use beef tallow for cooking. I haven't had any acne at all which is crazy. I still have some scars but welp, we'll see what we can do with that in the future. My main diet rn has just been eggs, meat and bananas. Sometimes I get livers and some more other fruits. Make sure you chew your foods good as well and do it with good posture. ...Maybe I should've started with this but can you elaborate what you mean by it didn't do anything? I mean for example, surely even 1 min of hard sprinting a day with good posture would already be massive. Now imagine if you actually did that for 3 years.
@@lostzephyr2191LMAOO “eating healthy and working out were a waste of time because it didn’t turn me from a 2 to a 10” is basically what you are saying. do you hear yourself? Fitness and eating healthy goes beyond your looks. It wasn’t a waste of your time and I GUARANTEE from an outsiders perspective you looked better before you just gave up. Someone who takes care of themselves is immediately more attractive than someone who doesn’t to most people.
I'm not attracted to someone just because they are healthy. We have a prototype. If I met a man of my prototype who was not healthy, I would still be attracted to him. All healthy women don't attract you.
This is so true! I notice I look better and younger when I'm happy inside, but when I'm angry, irritated, and lazy, I look older and uglier. When you feel good on the inside, you look good on the outside.
I don't think that's what the video was talking about. If you're already naturally attractive compared to most of the population, it's more likely you'll be happy, less stressed, and live a longer life. Your facial structures don't change just by changing your mood, and you can't just manifest attractiveness (unless you get certain surgeries). You are who you are, and it's sad to see people try to justify that to make themselves feel better.
@suhaasvemuri7980 that's not true. I've seen people look more attractive on certain days depending on their behavior. Even beautiful people can look less beautiful on certain days. Go to the ER when people are at their worst and spot the beautiful people out. They all look the same in there. Nobody looks good when they are stressed, angry, sick and sleep deprived.
Preach 😅now Tell that to every guy on this planet.Cause they swear looks don't matter to us Woman as if we want to risk having a ugly child with men because they have the dominant gene 😅
@@danman23ableIf you're a guy you've got nothing to complain about. The game is rigged in your favor. Most of the markers of attractiveness are more in your control and society has decided that physical attractiveness matters less anyway. Also don't believe the nonsense in this channel. It stretches the limit of what could be called "science". These sort of channels exist solely to trick people who think they're not attractive into spiralling. Thereby thinking out the competition for good jobs.
In conclusion, i was sad stressed and depressed only because of my appearence (or lack of). Nothing i can really blame myself for. Its super sad. This channel is spot on but also giving us an overall message : only attractive people deserves to live. Some of us are meant to suffer
Don't say such things, my friend. Suffering comes as an inevitable part of a fallen world. Selfishness in the human heart, a darkness that no matter how much vanity follows, remains unless dealt with. Beauty is in the character of a soul, not the flesh it dwells. Stewarding that flesh isn't a bad thing, but it's not your salvation, and it will fade like the leaves on a tree. Anything that has value has a cost. Jesus showed that when He took our sin upon Himself. The Bible says even the Son was nothing to be desired (physically), as that wasn't needed for Him to do what He did. If you're here, it's because you have purpose. And the only way to know what that is is to know the One Who made you and let Him show you what it is. If you want to get fit, you have to tear muscles. If you want to get smarter, you have to crack the books. If you want to get well, you have to deny what is making you ill. Nothing comes without a cost when the value of what it protects is so precious. You're precious to God, and the cost of what that means is His Son. Believe on the Son that you might be saved. Don't get bitter of suffering as it comes to everyone. It came to Jesus but He says to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. He died, was buried and rose the third day as evidence of His Word. Without Him there is no purpose in Your suffering, but with Him, there is reward, comfort, peace, and purpose. I hope this was in some way encouraging to you and I pray it is contemplated in the heart. Psychology simply addresses the human condition, but it isn't a solution. Knowing about a problem and how it arrises doesn't eliminate it. Putting a bandaid over a gunshot wound may stifle what is only inevitable - infection and death, but to heal, you must go deep and remove the bullet and it's fragments so that what is damaged can finally start to heal.
Look how depression was so high on ugly people😅 it's a joke, right? They didn't consider ugly people depressed for their appearance but ugly because they are inclined to depression 🤦
The internet is dealing with this problem quite effectively. The gender war and dating apps. Soon there won't be people like you complaining of such things.
Being chronically ill makes stuff like working out and eating healthy significantly harder. Ironic because we need it more. Can’t exactly workout or get food if you’re spending all your free time in pain. And this accumulates over the years. The sleep deprivation definitely hurts
Beauty standards are created by those with status to further advantage themselves. You're beautiful exactly the way you are and just as deserving of love, joy, etc. I hope you're able to find a treatment or support that makes your life easier 💚
Im a very attractive individual who got chronically ill at 25, ive lost 15kg mainly muscles and im over sleeping dealing with pain everyday. Im 27 now and look just 18. I wonder what ill look like in 5 years if it keeps going like this
Im always in pain. I walk a lot and have physical therapy at the pool in an hospital. It hurts more if you dont move. Depending on the condition it might be like me: no high impact exercise and more exercise using your own body weight. No added weights like body building. If you can accomplish a daily stretch routine youre already getting a benefit. That was all i could do in my worst period: stretches.
@@brushrunnerokay see now this is interesting, this was why I opened the comments because I was curious to see instances where being highly attractive didn’t correlate with good health. Also I’m curious what these stats look like for attractive people vs highly attractive people. I have chronic pain from a spinal cord tumor that I had surgery to remove at 25. I also have depression, anxiety & ADHD, so does all of that mean I must be ugly 😅? I’m in good health considering all of that, I want more information! This is fascinating stuff imo.
It helps to remember that we have more control over our appearance than we think we do. I used to be so much less attractive than I am now that I've lost weight, changed my haircut, improved my clothing, and payed more attention to grooming and hygiene. Not all of us can look like models, but we can sure bring ourselves up a couple points.
@@jordansonofsimon3393 I'm inclined to agree. My point was just that you can increase your physical attraciveness more than many think possible. It's quite interesting that people link physical attractiveness to good health, when actually it's not necesserily the case. Like, beauty standards for women these days are still not somewhere near healthy, actually what lots of people deem attractive may lead to amenorea and some other stuff related to body mass deficit and low fat percentage 🤷♀️ Actually it's interesting, that one USSR writer promoted the same idea "attractiveness=health" (Efremov, ≈70-80th), and his blind spot was about conventionality of beauty standards, just like there.
Being attractive doesn't mean that your life is good. You can be chronically ill but still be very attractive. You can be unsatisfied with your life or in life generally, despite being attractive. Life is different for all people and there is no predicting it. We can predict, only to some extent.
@@Krelian4400 everyone goes through the harsh reality of life. Young, old ugly, or pretty. There's no exception to that rule being attractive doesn't save you.
Is there proof of this? Because I’ve never heard of this and it just sounds like some bs assumptions people make about attractive people, like how attractive people apparently “always” come from good homes and never have any problems apparently.
@lilfatrat842 I think you don’t get the point of these studies at all. No one is saying that attractive people can’t feel negative emotions or can’t have challenges in life BUT if you compare then to people who are less attractive, they definitely have PRIVILEGES. In fact the more beautiful a person is, the more advantage in life they can get from it. Example if a person is in the Top 10% of looks, he/she would likely having a less hard time finding a romantic interest compare to someone who is just average looking. There are studies about halo effect in psychology, the human brain ALWSYS favors someone who is good-looking by subconsciously assuming that beautiful people have more possible positive traits or brings more positivity.
As someone who is incredibly ugly and has had an incredibly good physical health till recently, but is mentally screwed due to abuse from different people and to a lot of limitations in life because of physical appearance, which also has lead to stress and thus physical health damage in the recent years, I'd say the content of this video is pretty accurate. Beauty is not just an indicator of good genes and health, it's more of a creator of circumstances that can help both physical and mental health.
You’re not ‘incredibly ugly’ - there are still things you can do to help with your appearance and there are plenty of resources to help with that. If that’s u in ur profile pic u don’t seem to have any physical deformity so already you have the potential to be decent looking. I would say you’re average looking right now
Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. I know I look pretty normal in the profile pic, because it was taken from the right angle by an amazing photographer, and the fact that it's a bit blurred helps. But if you saw my face in person you'd be surprised and disappointed by my looks, I have extreme asymmetries in my eyes, my nose, my mouth, even my jaw, it's all so asymmetrical that my head looks weirdly turned to the left and even quite swollen. I'm hideous, and I'd be OK with it if it didn't have any negative consequences in life, but it does, a lot.
Honestly I know people with unspectacular features who look beautiful because of their amazing diet and exercise, I think health makes beauty, not the other way around.
People that are attractive had the blessing of growing up in a nurturing environment with low stress, high sociability, ease of access to real quality nutrition, sufficient physical activity, and the financial means to to afford all of it.
No, there are many attractive people who had very dark past with abuse trauma or poverty. Many poor attractive women end up either marrying someone richer or prostituting themselves just look at Brazil. Many favelas beauties end up on the street. Same goes for south east asia, a lot of their attractive women grow up in poverty and bad nutrition. As for men you have the prime example of the mug shot of a lightskin black man who had tatoos all over his body and became a model because he was attractive. He grew up in the hood with gun violence and traumas. Same goes with many others. Your argument is absoletly the result of tunnel vision
Attractiveness comes from two things : Genetics, which cannot be controlled -Lifestyle and environment which can be controlled to a degree. A genetically attractive person can ruin their natural attractiveness from their lifestyle. Likewise, they can enhance their natural attractiveness. A genetically unattractive person can get even more ugly with a bad lifestyle or enhance their beauty through a good lifestyle. This question is similar to talent. Attractiveness is like talent. Talentless effort beats talent that is not nurtured by efforts. But efforts alone cannot beat talent with efforts.
You have plenty of examples of people who were very attractive when young, BUT because of a bad environment AND trauma, they started having a self-destructive lifestyle like drugs alcohol and the like. Resulting in them becoming ugly
You should read the actual study-they take people`s socioeconomic backgrounds into account. Aka doesn`t affect the results. Additionally there are plenty of attractive and healthy people in lower income countries.
FYI y’all, you can actually attain some of these attractive features. Fitness, good food, proper sleep, lowering your stress and protecting your skin from the sun are just a few. Don’t take a study that doesn’t separate those factors and link it to symmetry in the face.
Well, as someone who people consider "pretty", I've suffered from Depression, Anxiety, OCD, ADHD since I was 12 years old, constantly medicated, can't leave antidepressants, and also have Chronic Pain and panic attacks. In this society, we're all just getting by, no exceptions. Curiously, the best marriages, families, and healthiest people I know are absolutely NOT the most physically attractive, and they don't seem to care all that much. (Pro tip: Accounts like these won't help your mental help all that much, thus making you less healthy overall and more stressed, thus making you uglier, and age faster😂)
People tell me I’m pretty quite a bit as well and little do they know I hate every second of being alive and I absolutely despise the entirety of our species. I see no value in living life on this planet and I don’t understand how other people do. If only being pretty took away my depressive disorder and anger issues 😂
Not saying I agree with the video, but your own experience is not enough to disprove what he/she is saying. If you're an average sized woman with decent make-up skills people are probably going to think you're pretty.
@@AddgDcvgIt already has been, if you were to say physical attractiveness is genetic quality and ability to provide healthy offspring you’d be in the vast minority
For the most part, being attractive mostly just means you have good dentofacial development. Like the ideal “mewing” look, which means better breathing (bigger airways) which can greatly facilitate exercise, reduce anxiety in general, and prevent sleep disorders. take an adult who has their wisdom teeth and a wide palate with a projected face, 9/10 they are attractive, and probably have good upper airways.
this is true.. i saw a picture of twins, one one had done mewing only & the other had braces & the difference in attractiveness was night & day. the twin who mewed looked like a model & the other wasn’t attractive really.
Works the other way too. The more satisfied with life you are, the higher self esteem and genuine confidence you have, being less stressed and being a kind loving person who isn't afraid to be themselves, automatically make you a very attractive individual. Also I'm sure alot of very beautiful get depressed cause they feel like people only like them for their looks and not who they are..but if that's what your after then sure, pretty good win. But remember that attractiveness gets you alot of external pleasures, but being a loving, kind, passionate and honest person gets you a meaningful life.
It's important to note that it goes both ways. A big part of being attractive IS being healthy, which is why it is attractive. The healthier you are the healthier offspring you'll have and a more reliable friend you'll be. Most of attraction is just being healthy, a lot of comments don't seem to get this
Attractiveness is the expression of good biological health. I think that's why we find those qualities attractive, that's how mother nature shapes our instinct. To find healthy/attractive individual to get the best percentage of maintaining our breed.
This is why the Olympic games is probably a dating frenzy behind the scenes. Just imagine the fittest people in the world in the same city, in close quarters, all at the same time 😂
A lot of this is lifestyle I’d bet. If you’re working out, drinking lots of water, not smoking or having alcohol, etc you’ll both look better now and feel better in a few years. Also many health issues present themselves with symptoms that tend to affect appearance - like vitamin deficiencies that can dry your skin out(form wrinkles faster) or alcohol abuse that can make one look jaundiced. Attractive people usually work out, too, which would lead to the improved cardiovascular health.
@@goodhumn67 lmao people that think like you are the people who blame genetics for everything. Go to the gym, eat healthier, focus on yourself and you will eventually find yourself being attractive, at least to a fairly decent level.
I'm 100% sure that all these people who diss their looks actually look decent enough. A lot of attractiveness comes from realizing your own potential and taking care of yourself
Actually the factor found to partially determine facial attractiveness in women was cortisol (inverse relationship), which is related to stress. So, stress makes women’s faces less attractive, as well as reduces Waist to Hip Ratio, increases Cardiovascular Disease risk, and accelerates aging. So, cortisol could be a significant factor underlying those results too. Also, the composite face of an attractive woman that i saw in research looks in some ways the opposite of a high cortisol face.
Um, I've been told by others that I'm physically attractive, in great shape (the appearance), and a genuine smile that can attract others. Although I'm thankful for these comments, I have a chronic disease (Lupus) I'm on medication for anxiety, and I'm stressed to the max. Pretty means nothing 🤣😭
This comment section makes me laugh. When I was young I was always bullied by girls, because I was pretty and very slim. They were jealous and made my life living hell for years, I'm in therapy now because of how much I don't trust women. And I'm now also very ill, chronic disease, and my beauty never changed anything for me except huge amounts of male attention that I get. But never helped in anything else then my love life. Doctors took years to diagnose me because on the outside no one can see my pain and "you look great, nothing can be wrong with you". So yeah. And I know a lot of cases like me. Being a beautiful woman doesn't help in life. Being mid looking is great, if you are not a "danger" to other women and you are decent looking you'll be great. But not beautiful, you'll get all the hate...
It's very true. My family has a gene that doesn't "show" age, appearing MUCH younger than bio age. Because my 34 yo, 5' 11" daughter, who is naturally abnormally thin and beautiful can easily pass for a teenager. She has always had bizarre symptoms, but disregarded by doctors due to outward appearance. Turned out she was dxd with PCOS, and a Marfan type! 😮 People are always shocked and skeptical, as if beauty makes you immortal!
all i can say to you is if you were ugly even doctors would treat you like low priority. besides it is just your story you can literally jsut be born hot post your photos on of or weherever and make millions if you choose this way.
How are physical beauty and making friends easier linked? My experience is that attractive people often get mistaken for arrogant assholes, that people find them intimidating, that people get jealous, or they put them on pedistals. Idk, but to me that sounds like attractiveness makes it harder to make friends
@@siemniak as a high school teacher I don't agree with this. The most popular ones are usually those who are the loudest and those who make the norm through their self assured behaviour
Being attractive is a byproduct of good physical health and good mental health is a byproduct of good physical health and being attractive. *CONCLUSION!: Stop complaining about how attractive people have it easier and start taking care of your self*
Tbh I feel like being attractive has a lot with our habits, i'm the average guy at best, and I take responsibility for it, I know that working harder on my apperacre would make me healthier and more attractive so i'm in the proccess, but people talking about "beauty priveldge" are missing the point in my opinion, yeah it exists, but usually attractive people work hard for it!
I was ugly as fuck in high school! I started eating better, cleared my terrible acne, lost a bit of weight and I went up SEVERAL numbers. Knew a guy in hs as well who used to be pretty unattractive. I looked up his Instagram a while back out of curiosity bc a friend told me he had a major glow up, and OH MY GOD he went from a 2 to a fucking 8 by getting a nice haircut, clearing his skin and toning up his body. He looks PHENOMENAL compared to high school. It wasn’t privilege, it was hard work, consistency and dedication.
Guys if anything this is showing that there is hope and a way to get attractive! To feel good you must look good, and that can be done through simple hygiene and self care. It’s possible ! You don’t have to be conventionally good looking to be attractive.
This is just from my own personal experience. So this just anecdotal. I am someone who gets called attractive on a somewhat regular basis (aka I'm considered conventionally attractive) However I suffer really badly with my mental health. So although I do believe that it's a correlation for most people. I don't think it applies to all people. I think being healthy makes people look more attractive and being attractive does make it easier to be healthy in life but that doesn't mean that's always the case. Just makes it more likely
But I have also seen attractive good looking people having internal health issues (like hormonal , thyroid, liver issues etc) which probably doesn't show on their outward appearance of their skin. So is their beauty masking their health issues!? 😅 Btw somes of their issues are inherited also.
As with most things, we're talking averages, there's no clear-cut answer. Physical beauty and health don't always match, but as research shows, there's at least some correlation which makes sense biologically and evolutionarily. You can get any combination of attractiveness and health, but in the long run, being more attractive is clearly beneficial, I'm just not sure to what extent.
@@TheCabIe no lol, attractiveness is unrelated to metabolic health (Żelaźniewicz et al 2020), in this short he's just talking about a survey a decade later which is because of easier lives
evolutionarily those who are attractive have the advantage as those with superior fitness will seek the more outwardly attractive group; over long stretches of time that means that the attractive group becomes more and more fit as anyone who has significantly higher fitness gets metaphorically "pulled" into the attractive group. Causing an exponential effect of superior fitness genes holding a disproportionate amount of positive traits: intelligence / height / strength / sociability / facial attraction etc
Essentially if you focus on your health and make that your top priority you can improve your attractiveness. Not sure why people are so upset about this lol
Bc they don’t want to put in the effort, and they know they’ll never look exactly how they want anyways. Someone literally said they gave up eating healthy and working out because it didn’t make them more attractive, even though I guarantee it did make them more attractive and they just didn’t see it because everyone is their own biggest critic. People expect it to change their entire face and give them an hourglass figure or whatever.
Can be, it helps you achieve health because you can afford it easier but I mean working out and eating healthy doesn’t require being rich. Nor does having a good skincare routine.
@@lilfatrat842 all of those things require money. working out requires the proper equipment and clothing as well as most importantly, shoes. skincare is hella expensive if u want to get shit that actually works and doesn't actively make ur skin worse, and this is well known. and healthy food is ABSOLUTELY more expensive than the alternative not to mention less easier and less faster. and poor people most of the time do not have time to waste. all of these things require time, money, and accessibility to all of them.
TRUE. I have my issues, but I’ve always had a nanny around, in-home gym, whatever food I desire to eat (whole, unprocessed) and meal delivery (Factor), plenty of sleep and high quality hydration, plus, recently had a mini facelift at age 42. Take any one of those things away and… I’ve always been told I’m attractive but I’ve never felt it. Probably a combination of being well-kept and healthy, rather than true beauty.
@@siemniak of course! there will ALWAYS be natural beauty. but that doesn't take away from my argument that it's easier to be healthy and attractive with wealth.
Which brings me to the question, if millions of years of selective reproduction were based on perceived attractiveness and good health, how the hell am I here?
because attractiveness is unrelated to metabolic health (Żelaźniewicz et al 2020), in this short he's just talking about a survey a decade later which is because of easier lives Your genes are good, it's just that your parents didnt raise you well : you're ugly because you weren't breastfed long enough, you didn't chew hard food all day etc
Not necessarily. A pretty person can be quite unhealthy (not flossing, not exercising, eating mainly junk food, etc). And a person who doesn't match the beauty standards can be healthier (exercise, eat healthy, not smoke, etc). We are just attracted to a type of people who WE find attractive. For example, i like men with dimples on their face, even if they were unhealthy (if they have bad hygiene then no) i would still find them attractive.
You’re doing what a lot of people do when they see a fact they don’t like. They pull “what about” or use exceptions to the rule. Something about this post made you uncomfortable and you tried to use anecdotal evidence vs reported evidence. These studies aren’t always absolute but they are mostly True.
Just like An Obese person CAN be healthy, but it doesn’t change the fact that a number of health problems are caused by obesity. Exceptions don’t override the rule. Anecdotes don’t override the average and the general rule. The fact is, things that are broadly considered unattractive are often caused by unhealthy habits. Too much sugary foods and poor dental hygiene care will decay, and rotten your teeth. And this will make them broadly unattractive.
A huge amount of those health indicators can be explained by just being overweight. People are really overweight are not considered attractive, and also are at way higher risks for heart attack, diabetes, cancers, a bunch of chronic illnesses. I think that accounts for way more than just attractive people having an easier life.
We all can exercise, eat well, learn and develop ourselves, socialize more and become more attractive. One can become significantly more attractive by doing so
i dont agree with this personally. most of the attractive people ive met have been aging terribly. a lot if them have lead crappy lives or gone down terrible paths. and a lot of the time their bad choices were a direct result of their attractiveness or the effects of it.
That’s literally what the video is saying. If you don’t upkeep your attractiveness you already have, you will lose it all. I used to be ugly as fuck in high school. I cleared my acne, started eating better, lost a bit of weight and now I get told I’m pretty all the time. Sure some of it is genetics, but I didn’t always look as good as I do now, not even close. I’m not a 10 by any means but I went up several numbers after I took my health and appearance seriously. Had a friend who was offered a modeling gig in high school. She looks god awful now because she spends her life drinking and partying. She could have kept her attractiveness by taking care of herself.
Something about this post made you uncomfortable and you tried to use anecdotal evidence vs reported evidence. These studies aren’t always absolute but they are mostly True.
It isn't better or worse, is an aspect of someone. They are not equipped with special powers or magic. More like others impose *their* fantasies and superlatives onto them - is a lot of pressure. Once you get to know them the halo-effect fades, they become their personality, same for everyone. Uber beautiful women get cheated on all the time, is not a guarantee to keep love.
One factor you forgot to mention in those 4 is access to resources. As someone way smarter than me said: _"you're not ugly, just poor"_ and having available resources would be a big contributor to good health.
Being "attractive" on a genetic level is different than people simply making good healthy CHOICES for their bodies. Being healthy and strong takes self control and discipline. It all comes from within. The more I dig, I find the gift of love from God alone is the driving force. Love for him and the body he gave you. Love from each other is essential as well. I could not have even grown up to be a strong man without the love and protection of my mother before me.
The fact that it was specifically "cardiometabolic health" that was highlighted makes me think this is more about overweight people being at risk for these diseases. Who coincidentally are also considered less attractive by most people.
It might be true but it's not my case tho, people told me I'm attractive and I grew up being bullied and sexually abused because of it, beside my Asian mom encourage men who was twice my age to date me when I was 14 and she told me being pretty is all I've ever good at. So I grew up neurotic as hell
Ngl, if you think yourself as ugly and don’t work out just start working out right away, along with eating healthy, you will have a massive glow up, and keep doing that for 10 years to keep the good health
I’ve been loving your videos! From someone who lives on a little island in Canada and is studying marine biology, I very much relate to a lot of what you’re saying. Thanks for creating the channel! People’s projections onto you don’t take away your clear vision and elegance 😊
What about economic effects?? That's gotta be a key confounding variable. Wealthy people can afford both a healthy childhood development (a large contributor to attractiveness) and long-term healthcare.

It's simpler than that: attractiveness means high genetic quality, which of course, means good health. Nature makes it easier to the good genes to multiply.
Nobody talks about the downsides 😂 like the amount of envy and resentment you get plus I don’t know if people are genuinely nice to me or they’re nice because they want to F*** with me? 😂😂
What this means is that you can also change your attractiveness by working on your health. You may not become attractive right away by doing this, but over time you will likely become more attractive than an attractive person who neglects their health.
Dont forget beauty fades too; youth and beauty are fleeting and dont last long; good mental and physical health is everything and correlates with greater life satisfaction; beauty can offer early advantages or exploitation; a double edged sword
I think this is more of a correlation that a causal relationship. If you are healthy then you generally come across as more attractive. If you are healthy today then you are very likely to also be healthy 10 years from now on.

@@scottcolpitts8521its all true but most of the things dont change a lot because of pretty privilege. I think it plays the biggest role in dating but even there its not the end of the world if you are unattractive.
To be honest life is just easier. Just a few examples. Got to the hotel and the man upgraded my room to the luxury suite, sat on my balcony and the party downstairs sent up wine. Went to the gym and a PT said I could work out with him, it has been a year now. Sure I’m very polite and friendly but let’s be honest it’s not my personality.
Attractive people have their own battles. The most frequent one I heard was that its hard make friends. Your own gender sees you as a threat and your opposite wants to be more than friends. People instantly assume you have it easy so they ignore your problems. Women are vicious and give you dirty looks just by standing next to their man. Nobody dares to ask you out cos they assume you are heavily taken so youre lonely. Another one is that they cheat on you due to their insecurity. Thats what I heard the most.

Being healthy plays a big part in the way we present ourselves. People who care about taking care of their body tend to also put effort into other parts of their physical appearance.

I don't think that's what the video was talking about. @suhaasvemuri7980 that's not true. I've seen people look more attractive on certain days depending on their behavior. Even beautiful people can look less beautiful on certain days.

Attractiveness comes from two things :
Genetics, which cannot be controlled
-Lifestyle and environment which can be controlled to a degree.

For the most part, being attractive mostly just means you have good dentofacial development. Like the ideal “mewing” look, which means better breathing (bigger airways) which can greatly facilitate exercise, reduce anxiety in general, and prevent sleep disorders. take an adult who has their wisdom teeth and a wide palate with a projected face, 9/10 they are attractive, and probably have good upper airways.
uhhh wisdom teeth mess up your teeth
this is true.. i saw a picture of twins, one one had done mewing only & the other had braces & the difference in attractiveness was night & day. the twin who mewed looked like a model & the other wasn’t attractive really.
So why is it that models often have their wisdom teeth removed?
Works the other way too. The more satisfied with life you are, the higher self esteem and genuine confidence you have, being less stressed and being a kind loving person who isn't afraid to be themselves, automatically make you a very attractive individual.
Also I'm sure alot of very beautiful get depressed cause they feel like people only like them for their looks and not who they are..but if that's what your after then sure, pretty good win.
But remember that attractiveness gets you alot of external pleasures, but being a loving, kind, passionate and honest person gets you a meaningful life.
It’s beautiful in order to be your most beautiful, you need to be your healthiest.
It’s not sad. It’s not a hard truth. It’s just logic.
It's important to note that it goes both ways. A big part of being attractive IS being healthy, which is why it is attractive. The healthier you are the healthier offspring you'll have and a more reliable friend you'll be. Most of attraction is just being healthy, a lot of comments don't seem to get this

So, stress makes women’s faces less attractive, as well as reduces Waist to Hip Ratio, increases Cardiovascular Disease risk, and accelerates aging.
@@lilfatrat842 exactly, congratz to both!
Guys if anything this is showing that there is hope and a way to get attractive! To feel good you must look good, and that can be done through simple hygiene and self care. It’s possible ! You don’t have to be conventionally good looking to be attractive.
The only beauty that lasts is the beauty of the heart!
This is just from my own personal experience. So this just anecdotal.
I am someone who gets called attractive on a somewhat regular basis (aka I'm considered conventionally attractive)
However I suffer really badly with my mental health.
What about if you're chronically ill and always in pain?
Long story short: being attractive is an indicator of good health.
No. Being attractive is an indicator of good looks, the health itself can be fucked to shit and still have it look attractive.
Only making the long story short here :) not sharing my opinion.
maybe im wrong but i think money may be a key linking factor in this 🤷♀️
Can be, it helps you achieve health because you can afford it easier but I mean working out and eating healthy doesn’t require being rich.
Probably a combination of being well-kept and healthy, rather than true beauty.
bro literally you can go to the poorest villiage in the end of the world and you will still be striked by natural beauty.
@@siemniak of course! there will ALWAYS be natural beauty. but that doesn't take away from my argument that it's easier to be healthy and attractive with wealth.
Take care of yourselves. Being physically fit and caring about overall hygiene helps both attraction and general health.
Which brings me to the question, if millions of years of selective reproduction were based on perceived attractiveness and good health, how the hell am I here?
Because not everyone can afford to pick the first round of selection 😂
because attractiveness is unrelated to metabolic health (Żelaźniewicz et al 2020), in this short he's just talking about a survey a decade later which is because of easier lives
Your genes are good, it's just that your parents didnt raise you well : you're ugly because you weren't breastfed long enough, you didn't chew hard food all day etc
Bro just called me a waste of air in the most educating way
Not necessarily.
Today we learned water is wet
No way
We all can exercise, eat well, learn and develop ourselves, socialize more and become more attractive.

I wish that was true... 😄 I definitely struggle a lot in life, even with pretty privilege.
These are averages. There is always deviation.
One factor you forgot to mention in those 4 is access to resources.
As someone way smarter than me said: _"you're not ugly, just poor"_
and having available resources would be a big contributor to good health.
Damn, I’m fucked
Looks like we're both headed for brain cancer bruh
Nah. You’ll be aight, just hit the gym. ♥️
The fact that it was specifically "cardiometabolic health" that was highlighted makes me think this is more about overweight people being at risk for these diseases. Who coincidentally are also considered less attractive by most people.
we all are
gym and a good haircut goes a long way
Health = beauty
Cant change the given set, but for sure can improve longterm well being
It might be true but it's not my case tho, people told me I'm attractive and I grew up being bullied and sexually abused because of it, beside my Asian mom encourage men who was twice my age to date me when I was 14 and she told me being pretty is all I've ever good at. So I grew up neurotic as hell
but girls love being bullied tho
I am so sorry sweet girl:(

Ngl, if you think yourself as ugly and don’t work out just start working out right away, along with eating healthy, you will have a massive glow up, and keep doing that for 10 years to keep the good health
And it's vice versa too. A healthy person is beautiful ❤️
Nobody really cares if youre healthy, know that from experience
I’ve been loving your videos! From someone who lives on a little island in Canada and is studying marine biology, I very much relate to a lot of what you’re saying. Thanks for creating the channel! People’s projections onto you don’t take away your clear vision and elegance 😊
What about economic effects?? That's gotta be a key confounding variable. Wealthy people can afford both a healthy childhood development (a large contributor to attractiveness) and long-term healthcare.
Thanks i love my self

I'm very attractive but i have both chronic disease and neuropsychological diagnosis ._. Trying to get healthy and working on myself but this really didn't help :D 😅😂😂
Exactly
You’re not attractive though
What this means is that you can also change your attractiveness by working on your health. You may not become attractive right away by doing this, but over time you will likely become more attractive than an attractive person who neglects their health.
Dont forget beauty fades too; youth and beauty are fleeting and dont last long; good mental and physical health is everything and correlates with greater life satisfaction; beauty can offer early advantages or exploitation; a double edged sword
I cant believe how true this is.
Grzegorz Bulczak - ohh the way the name and surname was read got me 💀 it's "Gshhegosh Boolchak " 🇵🇱
I think this is more of a correlation that a causal relationship. If you are healthy then you generally come across as more attractive. If you are healthy today then you are very likely to also be healthy 10 years from now on.
Life is so unfair
That's nature 🤷♂️
Beautiful people. They are more rich, live longer lives, have better relationships, and tend to get treated better by people in general. Did I tell you that they are better looking than you? Have a nice day!

I don't care what people say, im so freaking beautiful.
Love everyone posting their personal anecdotes like that contradicts tonnes of scientific data.
I think you overlooked the most crucial factor. Attractive people are more inclined to make sure they stay attractive, or in other words, healthy.
