Great video Billy. Love the flying capstan. Fits in the smallest kit bag and very few trees you can't take on with one of those (or the bigger one if needed).
Think Kieran needs some revision on how to tie a running bowline though. 😜

Great job there bill, showing your experience with getting kerian to cut that but first, that could of been alot different if he didn't.
Very interesting how it all works, for someone thats never done it before it was great to see the rigs and technical side of the job.
One of your best videos for sure 👌

Hi great stuff. I'm not a tree surgeon, but a begineer recreational tree climber. Can I ask: Sean at the end there was climbing with spikes, a main line and a lanyard. Is this how you would have climbed or purely as he is a beginner? Thank you for these videos all the best

Great question well the tree he was climbing will be removed at a later date so great opportunity for him to get the hang of the spikes… but you could climb that tree with no spikes on

I’ve decided that I want to become a tree surgeon. I’ve seen online I can pay about 3k to get my cs30, cs31, cs38 and cs39 qualifications on a 3 week course. Would you recommend this is a good route to go down as I’ve been saving money for a few years now to hopefuly start a buisness one day. So my plan was to get these qualifications then get a job with a company to carry on learnings more then hopefully when the time is right down the line I can start up myself.

You could call around a few companies and see if they would take you on and put you through the training but it would take longer than you doing it yourself.
      Best of luck mate

Thanks for the input bro, Think I’m gonna pursue it myself then mate, because There are a lot of jobs for labourers where I am, but don’t think they would be interested in putting me on that course without me working there for a while first, and that’s even if they have intentions to do that. Gonna get these qualifications then try and get a job with a big firm or council and learn more from there.
