Here in Ireland employees could earn anywhere from €500 - €1000 a week all depending on experience and output As a subcontractor you could earn more but will not receive holiday pay, sick pay, Ppe and could be let go at anytime. Haha, “so bloody busy”. Yeah, that sums it up. I’ve always worked for other people so running my own scenario is an eye opener. You didn’t say anything mind blowing, but yeah, hit all the points. I always admired the content creators that can do this line of work AND put together videos. Regarding work ethic, had a recent oops where a piece slipped out of the rigging and blasted a skylight in a shed. I was sub-contracting at the time with a new company. Didn’t know how the boss was gonna handle it. He wasnt onsite. I said my goodbyes to the crew. The lead on the job said - you’re not going anywhere. Got called again by the same company. Apparently I work hard enough so that’s good to know.

      @sawbandits 28 днів тому

      Hi Tommy apologies for the late reply. That’s a good question but a hard one to answer because every job is different and needs a different approach but it is very important to have groundsman that have good experience on the ground and willing to put a good shift in if you take on a young lad or a newbie having also having an experienced groundsman will help him learn and leave the harder or more technical jobs to the experienced guy giving the climber and the new guy time to concentrate on their tasks. In a nutshell a good groundsman is worth his weight in gold.

    How long and how much did it cost please?

    • @sawbandits
      @sawbandits Місяць тому

      Hi Maisy it all depends on what route you take. For example if you start off as a ground worker with no training it cans take years to get fully qualified but the company you work for will probably pay for your courses if you just want to pay for them yourself you could do it in a year but you would lack the on site experience. You would be looking at the guts of €10000 that would include chipper ticket Polesaw , groundsaw , and climbing and probably rigging in tree too I hope that helps
